“I see. So you’re the doctor in Qingshan Village,” Dr. Hu exclaimed after hearing Xu Ling’s introduction. “If you want to treat the villagers, then I have no trouble with that. But do you think you have the qualifications to treat people here? Do you have your license?”
“It’s still in process. I’ll be able to get it soon,” Yang Guang said as he looked at the doctor.
“If it’s still in process, then it means you still don’t have it, right?” Dr. Hu scoffed before changing his expression into an angry one. “Move aside. You have no right to treat any patient here.”
“And you do? You literally decided to finish your meeting first even when you knew that there was someone dying here. And you call yourself a doctor?”
“What did you say?” Dr. Hu roared, not expecting that Yang Guang would argue back at him. “Who the heck do you think you are? You don’t give the orders around here. Get the h*ll out! If something happens to the patient, will you bear the responsibility?”
“Unfortunately for you, you are too late,” Yang Guang laughed and stood up. “Drop your kind act and get back to where you came from.”
“What? Did the patient die?” Dr. Hu asked.
“Why are you cursing the patient? He’s fine,” Yang Guang scolded him.
“Impossible!” Dr. Hu exclaimed. “How did you even treat him without using any medication?”
“Just stay put and watch.” Yang Guang rolled his eyes and turned to Xu Ling. “Mr. He should be able to wake up soon.”
Just like when he’d treated the village chief a while ago, he’d sent his energy into the patient’s head and removed a drop of blood that was stuck in it.
With the blood pressuring the brain gone, it would make sense that Mr. He would wake up.
Not even a few seconds had passed, and Mr. He suddenly opened his eyes. He raised his head and checked his surroundings before asking, “Huh? What happened? Did I fall asleep?”
“He! You almost scared us to death! Thank God you are fine,” Mr. Li exclaimed.
“What? All I can remember is that I was fine one second, and then everything turned black the next…” Mr. He was still completely confused about the situation.
“I’m guessing that you are low on blood sugar. That explains why you suddenly fainted,” Dr. Hu said and glanced at Yang Guang. “It’s a good thing you’re fine now. There’s some idiot pretending to be a talented doctor, saying he has treated you.”
Yang Guang was completely speechless by this terrible accusation. Since he had treated Mr. He, even if he told everyone that the village chief had suffered from a similar cerebral hemorrhage, no one would’ve believed him if he told them that he had removed the blood.
Without the blood as proof, he would not be able to explain that he was the one who had treated Mr. He. “Well…whatever,” Yang Guang sighed and approached Mr. He. “Your condition was very dangerous just now. Even though I’ve removed the blood that was in your brain, you will suffer from headaches and numbness in your limbs for a short time. It’s not something a few medicinal herbs can’t solve. I’ll give you a prescription later.”
“Shut the h*ll up!” Dr. Hu scolded anxiously and pointed at Yang Guang. “How dare you still talk this nonsense? Shut your trap, or else I’ll make them revoke your license!”
“Dr. Hu, all of us saw Mr. He go into shock and pass out. I even noticed his pupils were contracted. Those are obvious signs of a brainstem hemorrhage. Yang Guang has cured him now, but there are still risks of it coming back. Are you going to take responsibility if it does?” Xu Ling scolded him as she couldn’t sit still and let other people belittle Yang Guang.
“And who the heck are you?” Dr. Hu asked curiously.
“My name’s Xu Ling! I’m the secretary of Qingshan Village,” Xu Ling announced. “I know it seems impossible, but I’ve personally experienced how amazing Yang Guang’s ability is. Now that he has saved Mr. He, who was on the brink of dying, how dare you question his credibility.”
“Like I care.” Dr. Hu scoffed as he rolled his eyes back and turned to Mr. He. “Why don’t you come with us to the hospital? We’ll do a full body checkup on you.”
Mr. He was still utterly confused by everything that was happening around him. However, judging from Xu Ling’s attitude, he could tell that his condition had been extremely serious. “Okay.” He nodded.
“Good. Follow me!” Dr. Hu turned to leave, but suddenly stopped at the door. He then turned back and pointed at Yang Guang. “Young man, I’m letting you slide today. If I catch you treating people here without a license again, I’ll have you reported.”
Yang Guang could only smile bitterly in response to that.
Xu Ling noticed that and quickly comforted him, “Guang, don’t worry. There’s nothing he can do to you. He’s just trying to scare you.”
“I’m not intimidated by him. I’m just speechless. He’s not even that good of a doctor. All he can do is cause more trouble,” Yang Guang sighed.
Due to this unexpected situation, the meeting had to end early. After Mr. Li announced the end of the meeting, everyone started to return to their villages.
Yang Guang and Xu Ling left together and headed to the electric bike shop.
Seeing that Yang Guang had indeed bought two bikes, Xu Ling insisted on paying him back. After an intense argument, he had no choice but to accept the money.
Since the sun was already high up in the sky, they decided to have lunch at a noodle shop before heading back.
Yang Guang ordered two bowls of beef noodle soups.
While they waited for the food to be served, Xu Ling asked, “When can you get your license?”
“I’m not sure.” Yang Guang scratched the back of his head. “When I took the exam in the county, they told me it was going to take about one to two months.”
“Wait. So, you really are practicing medicine without a license? You shouldn’t do that. They can send you to prison for that,” Xu Ling exclaimed.
“It’s not that serious, actually.” Yang Guang smiled. “Most village doctors don’t have a license. They have the skills but not the textbook knowledge to pass the exam.”
“I see… Why don’t you ask and see when you’ll get yours? I’m scared that Dr. Hu will try to make trouble for you again in the future. He’s the kind of person who holds a grudge.”
“Ling, are you worried about me?” Yang Guang asked with a gentle smile.
Xu Ling was shocked by the question. When she noticed that he was watching her intensely, her face reddened immediately and she rolled her eyes. “What are you talking about? What’s wrong with worrying about you? Isn’t that normal?”
“It is.” Yang Guang shrugged. “I do think it’s normal, but why are you blushing?”
“Guang!” Xu Ling roared and almost stood up. “Stop joking around or I’m going to leave!”
“I’m sorry!” Yang Guang laughed. “I’m just joking with you.”
A few minutes later, two bowls of beef noodle soup were served. The soup was still so hot that steam was coming out of it. A few pieces of juicy beef floated on top of the soup and Yang Guang moved all of his to Xu Ling’s bowl.
“What are you doing?” Xu Ling asked.
“Just a token of appreciation. I’m touched that you were the only one who stood up for me back there.”
“What? So your token of appreciation is a few pieces of meat?”
Yang Guang grinned, thinking that he would’ve said that he could give all of himself to her if she allowed it.
Before he could say anything, two people charged in and scanned the shop.. The moment they located Yang Guang, they immediately stormed toward him.
