"Behold my power….."

Her hands oozed a layer of green hue. Some sprinkle of green light floating away from her palm. The sunlight casing over most of the crater came in contact with those green sparkling lights. Like a solvent, the green light immediately reacted, mixing with the sunlight, its color slowly changing in color.

Gradually all the green sparkling lights melded with the sunlight, the shade around the crater altering to a deeper green. The more Amelia spread out her concentrated healing ingots, the more the shade around them turned greener.

Lily gazed around in awe as Amelia was enchanting all the toxic atmosphere around them. She was slowly feeling the change as her mana shield was not resisting against the air anymore and what surprised her, even more, was that the air finally felt breathable.

'She really did it....using the sunlight as a catalyst to meld her healing ingots even more…..she is indeed the healing prodigy of our era. Now I feel stupid that I questioned her before...."

She gazed upon the dark charcoal clouds, the gap which Amelia created, its size, slowly getting smaller as time went on.

'This is the only chance, we shouldn't miss it….'

"Let's go…." Amelia said.

"How much time do we have?" lily asked.

Amelia gazed toward the clouds. "Enough time for the extraction."

Lily nodded as she sledded down the crater, the previous gray atmosphere all gone, replaced with the comfortable bright green hue all around.

"Be careful Amelia, there may be some undead fairies roaming around, and let me tell this in advance, they are a pain in the ass to deal wi…."

Before she could finish her sentence, a large hand gripped her leg from the ground. Lily wasn't too surprised, knowing something was coming towards her but she was shocked to see a disfigured hand as big as her whole foot had just come out from the ashen sand.

She quickly soared with her full force, escaping its grip right away, and landed near Amelia.

She felt weaker than before from that single grip, a quarter of her mana all gone, stolen in those mere seconds.

"And…..they can absorb mana like sucking in air…."

The blemished large hand pressed against the black ashen sand, pulling its buried body from the wasted earth, the ash bulked up, ahead, in view as the grains of black sand fell down from its head.

Parts of its skull was in sight with its messy long black hair covering all of her face, with the sight of its shoulders, the thing gradually rose up, throwing all the sand away from its mess of a body. It's a huge mass of a body clearly to be seen.

And it was not alone when other disfigured undead fairies started rising up, some small, some larger.

Both Amelia and Lily gazed in surprise and disgust, their eyes wide open with the obscure scene, in front of them.

"....are there anything else, I should know, Lily?" Amelia asked, a hint of worry in her eyes.

"Yeah….that…. they weren't this large and….."

"And?"

"And...they grow more powerful every second, absorbing mana from anything and anyone, like it just did now, stealing away a chunk of my mana …"

Amelia turned to her, noticing she was breathing a bit more heavily. Her eyes glowed a bit white and realized, she wasn't joking. She already had a chunk of her mana stolen off and the one that was observed, was now slowly increasing in size as it walked closer to them.

"This is more troublesome than I thought, you have any idea how to handle them?" she asked.

"We dropped one before, luring it out this contagious area but, I think we don't have much time for that."

Amelia covered her and Lily in a white shield, processing what she just said.

'From what Lily is saying, they need the harmful air around them to survive, these pesky bugs must have somehow mutated from this toxicity. If so, they should be weaker from my charm thinning out all their source but they are just growing stronger....wait, the earth, this ashen ground must be giving them some stability...'

Bang!!!!

The twelve-foot figure, who was supposed to be a two-inch fairy, threw her hand on the white shield, the ripple around the shield showed its strength.

Bang!! Bang!! Bang!!

And adding more to the trouble, others also came near, surrounding both of them. Their huge mutilated arms pressing and punching on the white transparent wall.

Amelia could wipe them all, burning them with "holy fire" but she already used two of her prayer's wishes, one on John to increase his life expectancy and another one to control the thick weather around this wasteland of a place. She wanted to save the third, which was the last one for emergencies or for 'him' if needed.

Lily started to shoot blunt arrows without any mana, throwing away their arms off, with the impact of the arrows alone. She likewise hooked them down to the ground, shooting long arrows at their legs, but it only slowed them down, with how less pain they would feel. They would eventually pull out the arrow and march back to absorb the mana from the shield.

She chopped their hands and legs off with her blade arrows, but they would just re-attach it as nothing happened. As time went on, she realized it was getting harder to penetrate through their skins as time went on and to add more to it, they all started to use their thick wings as shields.

Lily would get tired but Amelia would heal her stamina right away, giving her back the speed and raw power she was protruding.

But the situation was the same as the first time they clashed with a half-dead fairy.

There was no real damage done to them, that could give them away to the titanium vault, and time was ticking, as the green hue around them was slowly thinning down.

"We are running out of time….." Lily said, gritting her teethes. "I mean, how did these creatures leave the watchers sight. This really doesn't make any sense…."

Amelia sliced a giant away with her unique, white ray. Which like the shield around them didn't let the half-dead fairies suck it right away.

"You are right…..if to safe the tomb, they should have cleaned them all out or…."

Amelia suddenly had a worried look on her face but didn't let Lily see it.

"or what Amelia?" Lily asked. Slicing away a male fairy headless.

"nothing…." She said.

Lily, looking at the situation. Picked out a bright yellow arrow from her storage ring. The bright yellow hue shining within the white shield.

Amelia gazed at her side, the bright yellow light reflecting on her white eyes.

"Are you using that now? Are you sure Lily?" Amelia asked.

Amelia was aware of the arrow at Lily's hand, they were the arrows of the wild rain. Which would multiply or grow in size according to the control of the user. It needed extreme control for the arrow attack to be fully actualized so the only few who were highly experts in archery could use it to its finest.

And not to forget that, these were rare, crafted by the legendry blacksmith working at the 'ATC'.

Lily stretched out his bow, pulling the thin string to its limit, she directed the long arrow straight to the sky, tallying her mana to her bow and arrow with full concentration.

"yes....it can at least hold them down for a couple of minutes...and we have less time, don't we?"

Crack!... … ...

Amelia also added more of her mana on her cracked shield, which was constantly being observed by all the six undead, their size and power, gradually increasing every millisecond.

It was a troublesome situation indeed, facing an enemy who would observe everything you threw at them and keep increasing in power.

"Yes….we have not much time left…..I hope you know what you are doing?" she asked in worry.

"Ha-ha...of course, this is my mess, to begin with." She said.

The arrow brighten up even more, gaining her mana, the raging yellow light aggravating all the half-dead fairies. Sensing the sudden esurience of mana, all the half-dead fairies became more ruthless, slamming on the white shield with their full force.

Crake…. Crake… .. …..

Knowing there wasn't much time left, she loosen her fingertips on her glistening string, a drop of blood falling from her nose. She had given her full concentration on that single arrow, hoping it with making it in time.

Boom!!!

With the mind-numbing supersonic sound. The arrow crossed the sound barrier the moment it was released, rippling through the air like a beam of light. The light with its dense mana glowed like a full-fledged star, all the fairies could only gaze upon the beam of light in hunger, their arms trying to reach the sky.

The arrow went straight through the dark clouds, the bright light getting engulfed, not a speck of light remaining.

Now the source of the dense mana now gone, all the huge disfigured fairies, stared back at them again. Their hunger clearly to be seen.

Amelia caught Lily who just fell onto her arms, her nose and ears continuously bleeding.

"Liar…." she said, gazing at her.

Bang!!

Crake..

BANG!!

Crake...

BANG!!!!!!

With that final knock, the barrier finally broke with there being no mana to support it as Amelia was busy healing Lily.

All the half-dead fairies started flapping their broken wings in excitement, looking at the food in front of them.

"oh….you bugs think you won….how cute," Amelia said with a kind smile.

Rumble!!!!

The dark clouds started rumbling, like a coming of a great storm. The yellow lighting echoing to destroy everything it touches.
