As the darkness of the night enveloped the forest, a fierce negativity raged on. But amidst the unsettling atmosphere, a glimmer of hope emerged. Amara, a kind-hearted maiden, stumbled upon a wounded creature - a white fox girl, lying on the brink of death. She was unconscious and Amara knew she needed help urgently. With a determined heart and a gentle touch, Amara vowed to save her. Little did she know, this fateful encounter would change her life forever.

"I couldn't just leave her there to die," Amara whispered, tears streaming down her face as she held the fox girl's hand, "I had to save her, even if it meant risking everything."

As the night turned into day, the fox girl finally began to stir. Amara was relieved and sat by her side, talking softly and trying to comfort her. The fox girl looked around, feeling her new clothes, confused. She realized she was in an unfamiliar place. She noticed the maiden's genuine smile and felt safe and secured. The maiden noticed the confusion in the fox's eyes and knew she had a lot of questions.

"You don't have to be afraid, you're safe now," the maiden reassured her as she gently stroked the fox's head, her voice soft and fluttery. "I found you in the forest, you were injured and unconscious. I brought you here to take care of you."

Amara tried to communicate with her through gestures and facial expressions too, and slowly the fox girl began to understand.

"My name is Amara, what's yours?" Amara asked, using gestures to communicate.

The fox girl responded with a soft howl, Amara misunderstood that her name was Aoh.

Amara learned that Aoh had been living alone in the forest. She had never seen a human before and was afraid of what they might do to her. "I will never hurt you," Amara reassured her, her voice fluffy and warm, "I will protect you from any harm."

Aoh was grateful to Amara for saving her and for taking her in. She knew that she couldn't stay at the inn forever but was happy to have found a friend. "Thank you," Aoh said, using her beaming smile to express her gratitude.

Amara knew that she couldn't let Aoh go, she had grown to care for her deeply and wanted to keep her safe. "I will always be here for you," Amara said, her voice filled with warmth and affection, "I will always protect you."

As the days passed, Aoh grew to trust Amara and began to learn about the outside world. She was fascinated by the stories that Amara told her about the humans and their ways. "Many... Things... Unknown... Outside," Aoh said, using gestures and a few words to express her amazement.

Amara taught her how to speak like a human and their culture, so that she could blend in if they ever Aoh had to leave. "I may not be able to fully be myself," Aoh said, using words she learned to express her sadness, "but I am content knowing that I am loved and protected by you, Amara"

The white fox girl had been tucked away, hidden from the eyes of the villagers. Aoh had always yearned to learn and communicate, to be a part of the world outside her solitary life.

Amara had been patient and kind, teaching her the language with gentle care. And oh, how quickly she picked it up! Aoh’s mind was like a sponge, soaking up every word and phrase with an eagerness that was both endearing and slightly overwhelming. "I can't believe how fast you're learning, Aoh," Amara would often say, her voice filled with amazement and affection as she patted her, "You’re truly amazing."

As Aoh learned more, she started to understand the world around her better and was able to build a closer relationship with Amara. Despite her initial struggles, she was now able to communicate easily and was learning new things every day through books when she left alone. Aoh’s curiosity knew no bounds, and Amara couldn't help but feel both proud and terrified by her quick learning abilities. "It's like you have a thirst for knowledge," Amara would say, her voice filled with wonder, "I can't keep up with you, Aoh".

Aoh smiled brightly and exclaimed,“Thank you, Amara. I'm really enjoying learning!” her voice filled with excitement and gratitude.

She was like a whirlwind, absorbing new information at an alarming rate and able to understand and apply it in a matter of minutes. It was as if Aoh was made to learn, and Amara couldn't help but feel a flutter of excitement in her chest at the thought of all the things she would discover and achieve. Amara thought about her maternal side.

"I can't wait to see what the future holds for you," Amara would tell her with a smile and Aoh replied with a cute howl.

And so, Aoh stayed with Amara in the inn in secrecy for a few months, but content in the way she lived, different from the life of the forest. The two of them lived together in the inn, keeping each other company and growing closer each day. Aoh had learned to communicate with words, but she would still howl at times, to remind her of her true identity and her past life in the ancient forest.

Amara would listen to her howls and understand, she knew that Aoh's heart will always belong to the forest and only fed her with fresh fruits upon learning the diet of the white fox girl.

Their bond grew stronger each day as they shared their stories and experiences. Amara would often tell Aoh about her own ‘meager’ life and Aoh would listen with wide-eyed wonder, her fluffy tail wagging in excitement.

Despite the challenges they faced, including when Aoh learned of her shocking identity as the White Fox Girl, a mythical figure of the neighboring empire, and also the thought that she would be found out sooner, Amara and Aoh were happy together. They had each other's company, and that was all they needed. Amara knew that Aoh would always have a special place in her heart, and Aoh knew that she would always have a home with Amara. They were the perfect companions, and their bond for each other was unbreakable. They were two unlikely friends brought together by fate, and they knew that they would always be there for each other, no matter what.

As time passed, Aoh couldn't help but feel a bit restless living a life of leisure with Amara. But little did Amara know, Aoh had been secretly honing her sword skills at night with the help of the three specialized books Amara had hidden under their bed. Aoh practiced tirelessly with the wooden sword hanging near the window, determined to use her newfound talent to protect herself and the only person she cared about.

One night, Amara stumbled upon Aoh's hidden training and couldn't help but notice the changes in Aoh's physique. Amara sat on the bed and playfully asked, "Aoh, have you been hitting the grounds without me?"

Aoh's tail stood up in surprise as she realized her secret had been uncovered. "Amara, I'm sorry. I've been reading your books on sword styles and I wanted to learn how to protect myself and you. I should have told you," Aoh said, her eyes watering with remorse.

But Amara's heart melted at the sight of Aoh's distress and she hugged her tightly. "It's okay, Aoh. Don't cry. I'll help you and teach you!" Amara exclaimed excitedly.

Aoh was confused and asked, "Amara, are you a knight?"

Amara laughed and replied, "No, I'm an adventurer. But I retired from that profession a year ago." Aoh could sense a hint of sadness in Amara's tone and decided not to push the topic further. "Adventurer? What's that? Aoohh," Aoh asked with eager curiosity.

Amara smiled warmly at Aoh’s thoughtfulness and replied, "An adventurer is someone who goes on dangerous quests and missions to explore new lands, find treasure, and help people in need. It's a life filled with excitement and danger, but also one of great purpose and fulfillment."

Aoh's eyes shone with excitement and wonder. "That sounds amazing! I want to be an adventurer too," she exclaimed.

Amara laughed and ruffled Aoh's hair. "I can see you have the spirit of an adventurer, Aoh. And I will be more than happy to teach you everything I know."

And so, Amara and Aoh began their journey of swordsmanship as a student and a teacher. They trained every night on the grounds, and as Aoh grew stronger and more skilled, her confidence and determination grew as well.

One fine morning, Aoh was in her room when she heard Amara calling her name. Confused, she made her way downstairs to find Amara, terrified, surrounded by the women of the inn, all staring at her with conflicted expressions. The fatty elder lady who owned the inn stepped forward and asked, "Who is the girl accompanying you? Can you introduce her to us?"

Amara was shocked and stunned, not wanting anyone to know about the existence of the white fox girl living with her. She hesitated before finally stuttering, "S-she's... she's just a friend. I just met her on my journey as an adventurer back then—"

"Hello, my name is Aoh, and I'm a demihuman, a hybrid born of a silver wolf tribe and a human; nice to meet you." Aoh shed her shy self and composed herself with great confidence, which stunned Amara as it was uncharacteristic of Aoh.

The women of the inn began to whisper among themselves as they blushed, their expressions growing more and more confused. The elder lady looked at Amara with a mixture of suspicion, admiration and disapproval. "She has silver wolf ears and is not a human, you know… that aggressive tribe. And we heard some noises coming from your room, and we couldn't help but be concerned and choose to violate your privacy."

Amara's heart raced as she tried to think of a way to defend her, when she suddenly noticed Aoh has no tail anymore, her wavy white fluffy tail was nowhere to be! Her mind grew chaotic as to why Aoh cut her tail and now she worried. The owner noticed her worry and asked for the reply.

"S-she's not dangerous, I promise. She's just like any other person, only with a few...differences. I assure you, we will be careful from now on and make no disturbance."

The elder lady looked at Amara and Aoh before finally sighing. "Well, I suppose it's not up to us to judge. But if anything happens, you'll be held responsible."

Amara nodded quickly, relieved that the situation had been resolved. She turned to Aoh, who had been standing quietly beside her throughout the entire exchange, and gave her a small smile. "Come on, let's get some breakfast. And what happened behind you?"

"Don't worry about me, Amara. Its a trick," she said with a smile.

"Then shall we go?"

Aoh simply nodded and followed Amara to the dining area. As they sat down to eat, Amara couldn't help but feel a sense of unease. She knew that Aoh's presence here would not be accepted easily and that they would have to be careful from now on. But she also knew that she couldn't just leave Aoh behind, not after all they had been through together. She would have to find a way to make it work, no matter what, even if it meant keeping Aoh's true identity a secret in exchange for her life.

"..."

And she was well aware that the time she had feared had arrived.
