“We are brothers. Don’t need to be courteous.” Yuan Jiangyi waved his hand and left with Hao Donghuai.
Wei Wucai didn’t hesitate. He closed the door, turned around, and stepped in front of Yan Zhiqing’s door.
Yan Zhiqing heard the doorbell and immediately opened the door.
It was just as she had expected. Wei Wucai was here.
“Why are you so early today?” Yan Zhiqing was still getting ready. She thought that there was still some time, so she didn’t rush and was preparing herself in a calm and comfortable manner.
But then, she didn’t expect Wei Wucai to be here.
“I forgot about one thing that Old Yuan and Hao Zi remembered. They just came by early in the morning and reminded me about it. I thought I should come to tell you about it,” Wei Wucai said.
He went into the room and closed the door. He then asked Yan Zhiqing, “Are you busy now?”
Yan Zhiqing was just going to drink a cup of water.
When she heard what he said, she immediately stopped what she was doing and turned to ask, “What happened? Is it something important? You are being really serious.”
“It is very important.” Wei Wucai walked over and pulled Yan Zhiqing to take a seat. “I didn’t mean to hide this from you. I really forgot about it because I didn’t care. It was never on my mind, so I never thought of telling you about it.”
“But Old Yuan and Hao Zi just reminded me and I thought I should tell you about it,” Wei Wucai said.
“What is it?” Yan Zhiqing asked nervously, “If you are acting like this, it scares me even more.”
Wei Wucai himself felt worried as he didn’t know how to explain this to Yan Zhiqing.
He pondered for a while before he said, “Do you remember what I told you about the situation at Mount Lan Compound?”
“I remember.” Yan Zhiqing remembered it very well.

Wei Wucai scratched his nose and said, “You asked me if I had liked anyone at the Mount Lan Compound and I told you no. Because the Hidden Light Unit only has one female member and the rest are all guys.”
Yan Zhiqing felt her heart sink. “Are you going to tell me that you lied to me about this? Did something happen between you and that female team member?”
“What are you thinking?” Wei Wucai didn’t know whether to laugh or cry as he explained, “That is a definite no. Nothing happened between me and her. However, she likes me and I never liked her back.”
Wei Wucai hurriedly explained, “When she first confessed to me, I firmly rejected her. Yet, she wouldn’t give up. I rejected her a few more times but my rejections were useless. She was so annoying that I had to reject her in front of everyone.”
“But even so, she still didn’t give up,” said Wei Wucai. The mention of this made him feel really gloomy.
Yan Zhiqing sneered and said, “I knew it. How is it possible that no one liked you? I didn’t expect you to hide this from me.”
“No.” Wei Wucai felt so wronged as he explained, “Do you remember what I told you about the Hidden Light Unit?”
Yan Zhiqing nodded.
Wei Wucai then said, “She’s part of the Hidden Light Unit. Later on, she went on a mission and would never come back to the Mount Lan Compound for over a year. Since then, I rarely saw her and my life had always been comfortable. Therefore, I simply forgot about her. It is really because she hasn’t been in my life for so many years.”
“If so, are you sure she still likes you?” Yan Zhiqing asked.
“…” Wei Wucai hesitated for a second. When Yan Zhiqing asked this, he suddenly felt uncertain. “Erm… I remember that she still liked me when I last saw her.”
“Anyway, she has been pursuing me for years,” Wei Wucai said, “You should know what the Hidden Light Unit does. Her fighting skills are considered decent enough at the Mount Lan Compound.”
“Old Yuan, Hao Zi, and I are all really worried that she might do something extreme if she discovered our relationship,” Wei Wucai said.
“How extreme?” Yan Zhiqing asked.
“You know. The missions done by the members of the Hidden Light consist of injuring someone or taking someone’s life,” Wei Wucai said, “Therefore, I was worried that she might harm you out of embarrassment and anger.”
Yan Zhiqing suddenly felt at a loss for words.
Wasn’t she just dating him?
Why would her life be at risk now?
“Are you sure?” Yan Zhiqing asked, attempting to put up a desperate struggle. “Do you think maybe you had misunderstood her? What if she wasn’t as obsessed as you thought she was?”
