He had monitored the whole process of treating Duke Kline's world, and Han Yanyan's current smile was exactly the same as when she had manipulated Yao Chen. Leo shuddered.
"Why are you laughing?" he asked warily.
"I'm laughing at you." Han Yanyan chuckled. "You're such a nerd."
"Huh?" Leo was confused.
"What's the point of being cute?" She flicked his bangs. "You haven't cut your hair in so long, your face is almost invisible."
She's a liar! She's a liar! She's a liar! This is exactly how she played with Yao Chen!
Leo obviously understood all this intellectually, but her words made him feel wonderfully happy. His reason fought fiercely with his sense of pleasure as he debated how to respond, causing his face to twist.
Han Yanyan diverted his attention by switching topics. "What else can I do around here before going to bed?"
"Huh?" Leo was indeed distracted. In fact, as far as he was concerned, he too wanted an escape from the struggle of these entangled feelings. "What are you thinking?"
"I want to step on land." Han Yanyan looked at him expectantly.
Completely led astray, Leo said without hesitation, "No chance of that."
"Is there no way?" she asked, disappointed.
The transition from hope to disappointment was obvious in her bright eyes. Leo twisted uncomfortably. "I haven't set foot on the surface of a planet in over ten years."
Han Yanyan looked surprised, and Leo explained, "The livable stars are basically all owned and divided up amongst various political forces. As for me, I'm considered by many forces to be a very dangerous man. They're all afraid of me and are on their guards against me."
Using 'a very dangerous man' instead of 'criminal' sure sounds so much more charming and attractive, doesn't it?
Han Yanyan pretended to believe him and asked instead for, "Then, some books to read to pass the time?"
Indeed, what a liar! She just wanted to take this opportunity to collect real-world information! Leo, who had seen right through her, remained calm and said, "Alright, I'll find you a couple."
He pulled a holographic screen out as he spoke. It was composed of luminous lines floating in the air, and he "pulled" it straight out of thin air.
The smartwatch that Han Yanyan had worn on her wrist in the mecha world had also had a similar holographic screen, but it had needed the smartwatch as a base. Leo was wearing nothing. Han Yanyan had seen him pull a screen from the air several times.

Leo flicked the screen and it shifted to rest before her.
"This is a pretty good book, you can read that."
Han Yanyan glanced at it. "'The Brilliant Empire'? This is..."
"The founding history of the Amijin Empire. It's the best among the several versions I've collected," Leo said.
"..." Han Yanyan squeezed out a smile and said, "Sounds good."
Heh, you can't laugh now. I've seen through you.
Leo felt a little smug inside. When Han Yanyan asked him 'How do I use this holographic screen?', he generously added her as a system user. She, too, could now pull a screen from the the air with a wave of her hand, just like Leo.
"I'll give you the permissions for this book first," he said even more generously. "Afterward we can see what you're interested in."
Han Yanyan suddenly thought of a problem.
"Leo, are you deliberately using my language? Or is it a coincidence that you and I have the same native tongue?" she asked. 'The Brilliant Empire' open on the light screen was written in her mother tongue.
"Oh yeah, sure, in this whole vast universe you and I both speak the same language as your mother tongue. Do you even have a brain? Where's your IQ at?" Leo rolled his eyes. "The data on your mother tongue was transferred from your brain on your first day. It was extracted and entered into my database. A translation chip is implanted under my cerebral cortex, which acts directly on the language central nervous system. The translation process is completed within my brain, and by the time thoughts are turned into language and output to the mouth, it's already the translated pronunciation.”
This technology was indeed far beyond that of the mecha world. Tang Kè had also commented disdainfully on how backward the technology was there.
Han Yanyan planned to read 'The Brilliant Empire' after returning to her room. Leo had been so generous and proactive that the only thing in her authority to read that was completely true was probably this history of the Amijin Empire. When it came to anything else, who knew how much he had manipulated the contents, stuffing them with wrong information.
Rather than being misled by such things, it would better not to read them at all, regardless of whether they were true or false.
But, of course, she still had to say "Wow~" to express her amazement and envy toward Leo's amazingly deft technological skills.
"Hillbilly, you're only making such a fuss because you've never seen anything before," Leo replied disdainfully.
Then stop yourself from smiling, Han Yanyan thought.
