Han Yanyan smiled to see Leo flee, utterly defeated, through the reflection on the glass wall. She didn't turn back around until he had disappeared. Wandering about the grow room, she finally took a fancy to a fruit tree bearing fruit, and broke off from it a branch as thick as her thumb and as long as her palm. She paid attention to the angle while breaking, and the broken end of the branch was very sharp.
Holding the broken branch in her hand, she attempted to leave, but the door to the grow room did not open automatically for her.
"Han Yanyan, please leave behind the lethal weapon in your hand," said the electronic voice of the central control system.
Just as she had thought, the AI had been monitoring her. If she wanted to take anything sharp from its original location, she would be warned by the system.
"Are you talking about this?" she asked, raising the branch. "It's just a twig."
The AI replied without emotion, "The sharpness of one end is under 30 degrees, and the object is over 120 on the hardness scale. This places it into the category of 'sharp weapons'."
Fiddling with the branch, Han Yanyan asked, "No matter where I hide it, whether in my clothes or my hair, you can find it, right?"
"I have been ordered to monitor your behavior. It is impossible for you to hide any form of weaponry on your body without discovery."
Her fingers fidgeting with the branch paused for a moment. Then she suddenly asked, "System, do you have any other voices?"
"...I have been ordered to use the current vocalization," the AI replied.
Han Yanyan was silent for a moment and asked, "Is Leo monitoring this conversation?"
"No."
"Will you report the content of our conversation to him?"
"Yes, if he asks."
"Then you won't if he doesn't ask, right?"
"Yes."
"This conversation is familiar; we've had a similar one before. Are you the system I build the worlds with?"
"Yes. I am the only central control system on this ship."
Han Yanyan exhaled slowly, wondering how she had been so careless as to overlook something so important.
"System, did you know? At first, I thought Leo was you and you were Leo," she said.
Emotionlessly, the AI replied, "In order to increase his credibility, the administrator used this vocalization upon first contact."
"Yes, he always used this voice back then, so much so that I've ignored your existence all this time." Han Yanyan tilted her head up to the ceiling and said with a smile, "Then, shall we introduce ourselves to each other again? I'm Han Yanyan. A pleasure to meet you."
"Hello. I am the central control system of this ship." There was still no emotion in the chill, electronic sound of the voice.
But Han Yanyan was already extremely satisfied.
Perhaps it was because she had always harbored hatred and hostility toward Leo that she had never been able to acknowledge the fact that he was a genius. But once one faced up to this fact, one would immediately draw the following conclusion - would a mad scientist with such amazing technology at his fingertips ever settle for an ordinary, mechanical 'system'?
Gazing up at the ceiling, a smile spread across Han Yanyan's face.
She raised the severed branch. "Is there any way I can get you to agree to letting me have this?"
"No," the AI said. "I have been ordered to prohibit you from obtaining anti-personnel weapons."
"Okay, then." She let go, and the broken branch clattered to the ground.
The door of the grow room opened with a swish.

Han Yanyan glanced at the ceiling and said meaningfully, "Thank you~". Then she walked out.
Her glance was captured by an electronic eye, and the image instantly transmitted to the AI's core. In an instant, her eyes and micro-expressions were interpreted, analyzed, and turned into data.
So as to calm down, Leo had genuinely gone to do research. Once he started researching, he was prone to getting sucked in, and by the time he emerged he had already missed dinner with Han Yanyan.
He was extremely annoyed.
"Han Yanyan has made a request for entertainment such as movies and TV shows," the AI reported to him.
Leo felt a sudden sheen of sweat form. "You, did you show her anything?"
"I have rejected her request without your authorization," replied the AI. "She attempted to request your opinion on the matter, but as you gave the order in the grow room not to allow her to disturb your research..."
"Got it!" Leo interrupted, wiping the sweat from his forehead. "First off, package up all my little movies and encrypt them... No, triple encrypt them! She is absolutely not allowed to see any of those! Also, I said that to her, not to you. If she's looking for me, notify me immediately no matter when or what I'm doing."
"Yes, Master."
"Oh, and give her permissions to download some TV programs. Filter out news, current affairs and science documentaries. She may only watch soap operas and entertainment variety shows."
"Yes, Master," the system replied obediently.
Leo ate something random and lingered outside Han Yanyan's door for a long time, but never managed to think up any excuse to go in looking for her. In the end, he slunk away feeling disgruntled.
To make himself feel better, he went back to his research and stayed up till midnight. By the time he woke up the next day, he had missed breakfast and it was almost time for lunch.
"Where is she? What is she doing?" he asked, hastily rising.
"Warning! Han Yanyan is currently in possession of a lethal weapon! Repeat, warning! Han Yanyan is currently in possession of a lethal weapon!" the AI reported attentively.
Leo gave a start.
Hearing a sound, Han Yanyan turned to see Leo rushing into the kitchen, gun in hand. Above his head flew four drones, all with guns pointed at her.
She raised her hands very wisely - her left was empty, and her right held a knife.
Leo was stunned. "What are you doing?"
"Cooking," Han Yanyan replied innocently.
"Wh-what are you cooking?" Leo's face turned red. Here he was, holding a gun while she was wearing an apron. It made him look so stupid.
"The food the machine makes tastes awful. I wanted to do my own cooking." Han Yanyan said. "I only get a few days of rest out here, and I don't want to force myself to eat pig slop like in a school cafeteria. Can I can put my hands down now?"
Leo snorted, lowered his gun, and said, a little annoyed, "Then hurry up. And put the knife back when you're done."
He turned and left, leaving behind two drones to watch over her.
