The night was quiet as the moonlight shone on Ye Mo’s face. After the fight with the Jade Siren and staying underwater for more than a few hours, Ye Mo was exhausted, and he needed all the sleep he could get.
Knock knock knock.
A few gentle knocks on the door woke Ye Mo from his dream.
“Ye Mo, are you asleep?” Bing Bing asked.
Ye Mo quickly got up, tidied himself up, and said, “Yeah, come on in.”
Bing Bing pushed the door open and walked into Ye Mo’s room.
Bing Bing’s perfect curves shone under the dim moonlight. She wore a blue nightgown. Even with her short hair, she had the beauty of a model that would attract many men.
Ye Mo couldn’t help but recall the kiss that happened underwater, especially when he held her fragile body in his arm.
“I’m here to apologize for slapping you in the Frozen Pond,” Bing Bing said and offer him a bottle of wine. “Let me make up for that.”
She poured a cup and drank it down. Her face flushed from the alcohol inside her body as she studied Ye Mo flirtatiously.
“Don’t worry about it, I’m just doing what any person should do,” Ye Mo said.
“How about a toast then?” Bing Bing said and filled up a cup for Ye Mo.
“Sure thing.” Ye Mo took the cup and drank the wine which had a fragrant aroma.
“Here, let me fill that up,” Bing Bing said, and they each continued to drink another two glasses of wine.
After three cups of wine, it seemed as if Bing Bing was already drunk as her eyes were almost blank while her face flushed pink.
“Ye Mo, am I not attractive enough?” Bing Bing asked as she hung her arms over Ye Mo’s shoulder.
“Of course you are attractive!”
“Then why don’t you like me? Why did you decline my father’s marriage proposal?” Bing Bing pouted. “I know you’ll have to leave, but I can’t help but fall for you. The moment you saved me from the Jade Siren was the moment I knew that you were the one that I wanted to marry. I don’t care if I’m not enough to stand by your side because I love you.”
“You’re drunk,” Ye Mo said.
“I’m not!” Bing Bing said.
She grabbed Ye Mo’s hands and rested them on her chest.
Ye Mo could feel her softness in his hands as his eyes widened. It was as if the softness was enchanted because Ye Mo could not pull his hands away. Without giving Ye Mo any time to react, Bing Bing sealed his lips with her own.
Ye Mo gently pushed Bing Bing away. “Bing Bing, you’re really drunk.”
Under the faint moonlight, Ye Mo could see tears sliding down Bing Bing’s cheeks.

“I’m really not drunk,” Bing Bing sobbed. “I’m just trying to make use of the moment to get some answers from you, but it looks like you’ve already answered it…”
“Why are you going this far for me?” Ye Mo asked. “You know I’ll definitely leave the Frozen Palace. I still have many things to accomplish. I’ll have to get to the Qingyun Alliance and become stronger. I’m carrying a lot of responsibility on my shoulders right now.”
“Then let me help you,” Bing Bing cried. “Even if I’m not as strong as you, I’m still considered as one of the strongest among my age…”
Bing Bing was about to break into the Energy Shaping First Realm at the age of 17. Even amongst geniuses, she was considered one of the best.
“Then how about this? Let’s make a promise,” Ye Mo said. “If you can become a disciple for any of the Three Major Alliances, I’ll accept your feelings. But this is something that will not be accomplished easily. Are you up for it?”
Joining one of the Three Major Alliances was a huge feat. If Bing Bing could join one of them, she might even meet a better guy there.
“Okay, you better not regret this! I’ll definitely become stronger.”
Bing Bing kissed Ye Mo on his cheek and left his room as if she’d won a fight.
“Looks like another girl has fallen to your charms,” Cai Ling peeked her head through the window and joked. As the moonlight shone on her face, Ye Mo sighed at the beauty that could easily be called the fairest of them all.
“Yeah, if only I can charm you with it, that would be a huge feat,” Ye Mo shrugged and said.
“There’s only like a 0.01% chance that would happen. People of the Nine-tailed clan never fall in love with humans,” Cai Ling said.
“And the 0.01%?” Ye Mo asked curiously.
“One of our ancestors fell in love with a human girl once,” Cai Ling said as she played with her hair. “But after 81 days, he turned into a fox spirit and was sealed in our Ancestral Tombstone. With that, our clan made a vow to never fall in love with humans.”
“Then why are you the only one left alive?” Ye Mo continued to ask.
“100 years ago, when I was still a little fox who was just born into this world, our clan was wiped out by someone,” Cai Ling explained as her eyes began to tear up. “Our clan head risked his life to help me escape with everything he could do to preserve our bloodline.”
“When I was 30, I’d already mastered the technique to take on human form and had reached the True Energy Realm,” Cai Ling continued. “I began to live among the humans and built the Women City which only takes in women as its citizen because I’m afraid I’ll fall for a man. Now that I’m already 100 years old, I’ve managed to reach the pinnacle of the Spirit Devour realm. I was already one of the strongest in the whole kingdom. Everyone was afraid to go against the Women City.”
The Energy Devour Realm! Ye Mo gasped. Even the Union Chiefs weren’t that powerful!
“Yet my talent could only bring me to the Energy Devour Realm. The only way for me to get stronger is to accept the inheritance of my clan,” Cai Ling said as rage flashed in her eyes. “As the last survivor of the Nine-tailed clan, I’ll become stronger and avenge those who wiped out my clan!”
Avenge! Ye Mo heard the word and closed his hands into tights fists as his energy seeped throughout the room.
“Are you seeking for revenge too?” Cai Ling asked as she felt the changes in the atmosphere.
“Yes, that’s why I keep training to become stronger. Maybe when I reach the realms in the legend, I could also help you fulfill your revenge.” Ye Mo laughed.
“Do you think it’s that easy?” Cai Ling said. “My enemies are all beasts that have been living for a few thousand years.”
“Hey, if you can fight for 100 years then I could do it too! I’ll become the strongest in the whole world!” Ye Mo said with confidence.
“Interesting,” Cai Ling remarked with a rare smile on her face.
“Did you just fall for me?”
“Impossible!”
