Chapter 189: The Best Boss

“What… What’s going on?” Li Li was dumbstruck when she saw the scene in front of her.

Why was the sales clerk so courteous toward the kid? He seemed incredibly important!

‘There must be a mistake! We’re the important guests here! Didn’t we just buy a thirty thousand yuan dress? She wasn’t even that friendly!

‘That kid looks so normal. He doesn’t look like a rich person at all!’

Even Han Yutong was clueless about what was going on.

“Hey, what’s going on here? I’m a paying guest, but you’re so impassive toward us. How can you be so courteous toward those poor losers who can’t afford anything? Don’t you appreciate our business?” Li Li grumbled.

The sales clerk nearly laughed out loud when she heard that.

‘Poor losers who can’t afford anything? What a joke! Mr. Tang bought a dozen handbags along with many more shoes and clothes in his last visit. He spent almost a million yuan.

‘Furthermore, he did not even look the least bit concerned.

‘Now, this woman only bought the cheapest dress and is raising a fuss. Isn’t she ashamed of herself?’

She was laughing up her sleeve but maintained a professional appearance. “You are our esteemed guest here, Madam. Mr. Tang is our esteemed guest, too.”

“Pah! He’s an esteemed guest too? Has he ever bought anything in your store before?” Li Li mocked.

“Yes!” The sales clerk answered briskly.

Li Li was at a loss for a reply.

“So what did he buy? It must be something cheap worth a few thousand yuan, right?” Li Li said condescendingly.

The sales clerk shook her head and replied, “You’re mistaken, Madam. Mr. Tang spent nearly a million yuan in our store the last time he was here.”

Li Li laughed out loud. “That’s just a million yuan!”

Then, her brain finally processed what she was told. Her expression froze and her body stiffened.

Her eyes widened in increasing incredulity. “What did you say? A million yuan?”

Chen Bin also went slack-jawed.

The sales clerk nodded with a gentle smile on her face.

Still in a daze, they turned stiffly to look at Tang Hao.

‘Don’t tell me that kid has rich parents? He doesn’t look like he’s from a wealthy family at all! His clothes are too normal!’ They still could not believe it, and even found it to be ridiculous.

“You must be mistaken!” Li Li said, grasping at straws.

The sales clerk smiled gently. “I won’t mistake him for someone else,” she said as her disdain toward the two people grew.

“Please pay at the counter!” She said, then turned around and ignored them.

Li Li’s face changed several colors as she stood on the spot.

She had thought that the kid was poor, but it turned out that he was incredibly rich. That was a slap on her face.

She felt even more envious than before.

Han Yutong was more beautiful than her. She thought she would be better than Han Yutong by having a rich boss as her boyfriend. Now, it seemed that her high school classmate was somehow related to the rich kid.

She had thought that might be relatives. Now that she observed them closely, she thought that they might be a couple.

She glanced at Chen Bin next to her, then at the boy, and became more envious than ever.

Chen Bin was already over thirty years old and looked rather plain. The boy was young, handsome, and was equally as rich. That was a hundred times better than Chen Bin!

She tried to find consolation in the fact that Chen Bin was a self-made man and was in control of his finances. The kid should be receiving pocket money from his parents and probably had at most two or three million yuan in his bank account.

The sales clerk glanced at Han Yutong briefly and smiled at Tang Hao. “Mr. Tang, are you here to shop for this madam?”

Tang Hao nodded. “I want to buy an evening gown for her. The best one that you have.”

“Oh, evening gown! Coincidentally, an evening gown arrived at the store just a few days ago. It should fit her very well.”

Then, she turned around and went further into the store.

The store had several glass cabinets, each displaying a unique, exquisite evening gown.

Han Yutong stepped closer to take a look and exclaimed, “Wow, they’re all beautiful!”

Then, she saw the price tags and was shocked. Each one of them cost more than a hundred thousand yuan. The most expensive ones cost more than two hundred thousand yuan.

“What do you think about that one?” The sales clerk pointed at the dress in the middle cabinet.

In the glass display was a white low-cut evening gown. Even Tang Hao, who was not well-versed in modern fashion trends, gasped at its beauty.

“Not bad!” Tang Hao nodded and said.

The sales clerk looked at Han Yutong. “She has a beautiful body and a noble bearing. The gown should be a perfect fit for her.”

Han Yutong’s eyes sparkled when she looked at the evening gown. She loved it very much.

However, she balked when she saw the price tag.

That evening gown cost two hundred and twenty thousand yuan.

Meanwhile, Li Li became more envious when she looked at her.

“This one then!” Tang Hao said, “Right, we’ll need matching footwear and a handbag too. I trust you to pick whatever you think fits her best.”

The sales clerk led Han Yutong to another section of the store to look at accessories and soon they were done.

“That will be two hundred and seventy thousand yuan in total!”

Tang Hao took out a card from his wallet and handed it over.

Li Li and Chen Bin were stunned when they saw the card.

Especially Chen Bin, whose eyes almost popped out of their sockets.

He recognized that card all too well. It was the Black Gold card from Huaxia Bank. Even he did not have the qualifications to own one.

Li Li could not believe her eyes. She stood stiffly on the spot with a frozen expression.

‘Oh my god! That’s a Black Gold card! Even if the kid didn’t own it, it meant that he had access to a billion yuan!’

Her face turned pale as a sheet.

She was mocking her high school classmate earlier, but she had realized that she had been the joke all along. She had utterly lost to Han Yutong.

Chen Bin also felt defeated. He had tried to flaunt his wealth in front of the beautiful woman, but it turned out that she had a richer boyfriend.

They two people paid and left defeatedly.

“She must be your girlfriend, right, Mr. Tang?” The sales clerk at the counter said enviously as she handed Tang Hao his card.

Tang Hao shook his head. “No, she’s my assistant and I’m her boss. I’m giving her her year-end bonus now!”

The sales clerk was stunned when she heard that.

“Year-end bonus?” Her jaw dropped.

‘Isn’t it only October? It’s still a long time before the year ends! Which company pays its employees such a big bonus anyway?

‘Mr. Tang must be the best boss in the world!’ She thought enviously.

After exiting the store, they continued walking around the mall. Han Yutong bought more accessories to complete her outfit, while Tang Hao bought himself another business suit.

“Alright, we’ll knock their socks off tonight!”

Tang Hao carried the bags full of clothes and accessories and left Zenith Plaza with Han Yutong.
