“What’s wrong, Big Bro?” Zhao Qingxue turned to look at her brother, surprised.
“It’s… It’s nothing! I choked on the tea!” Zhao Wuyang waved his hands and wiped the table with a napkin.
“Dammit! This kid is a freak!” Zhao Wuyang glanced at Tang Hao again and muttered under his breath.
The kid had caused the superintendent’s fall from grace, and he was even involved in the province secretary’s investigation. According to his colleagues in the police station, there was a military jeep blocking the entrance of the police station on the day he was arrested.
That kid even had connections in the military.
He remembered that he was determined to arrest the kid. He had been too naive. A chill went up his spine.
If the Deputy Superintendent had not intervened that day and let the kid go, he would not only be suspended from his job but probably fired on the spot.
He also heard from his sister that the kid had caused shockwaves at the Westridge Police Station before. He was well-known to be a ‘police killer’.
‘Dammit, what is up with that kid? Is he really a nobody from a mountain village?’ Zhao Wuyang cursed silently. He was extremely frustrated.
“Over here, Lil Bro Tang!” Commissioner Xia noticed Tang Hao. He stood up and waved at him excitedly.
Captain Zhou also noticed Tang Hao. He stood up and greeted him.
Tang Hao nodded to return their greetings and walked toward them.
“You’re here, Tang Hao!” Zhao Qingxue shouted.
A cute little girl in a pink dress sat next to Zhao Qingxue. She had big and spirited eyes. She was none other than Lil Xin’er.
“Xin’er, that’s Big Bro Tang Hao that I’ve told you before,” Zhao Qingxue whispered to the girl.
Lil Xin’er looked at Tang Hao with her big eyes and blinked.
She was shy with strangers and only greeted him after a long while, “Big Bro Tang Hao!”
Tang Hao smiled and sat down between her and Commissioner Xia.
“How are things in Provincial City, Lil Bro Tang?
“Looks like there’s an upheaval in Provincial City. There’s always something major happening. Haven’t you heard? Even the Province Secretary is in trouble now, and there are multiple people involved in it too. What a mess!” Commissioner Xia looked emotional as he said that.
Tang Hao was feeling a little awkward.
Zhao Wuyang’s expression was even more awkward.
“Yes, it’s quite a mess!” Tang Hao said as he lowered his head pensively.
Zhao Wuyang rolled his eyes. ‘What a liar. It’s all because of him.’
“I’ve also heard that something is going on with the superintendent at the city police station. We’re so lucky that nothing is going on here,” Commissioner Xia said emotionally.
Then, he turned to look at Zhao Qingxue.
“To be honest, I’m sad that Lil Zhao is leaving us. Many of the single men in the police station will be crying lonely tears once she’s gone,” Commissioner Xia said with a smile.
“Commissioner!” Zhao Qingxue glared at him.
Commissioner Xia broke into hearty laughter.
The dishes were soon served, and everyone ate happily.
Zhao Qingxue shows a lot more restraint this time. She did not drink too much, though her face was slightly red at the end of the party.
Tang Hao drank quite a lot, though he could never become drunk.
The people parted ways at the end of the party.
Commissioner Xia and Captain Zhou said goodbye to Tang Hao and returned to the police station.
Zhao Wuyang left to catch the train. He was due to return to Provincial City that day.

Finally, Tang Hao and Zhao Qingxue were alone in the room. They left the restaurant together.
Zhao Qingxue was dressed casually. She wore a light beige woolen top and a tight-fitting pair of jeans, which allowed her to flaunt her long legs and shapely butt.
Her impeccable looks and excellent curves attracted everyone’s attention on the street.
“When are you leaving?” Tang Hao asked after walking for some distance.
“I’ll still be around tomorrow, and will be leaving the day after tomorrow. I will have to report to my new post the day after that,” Zhao Qingxue said.
Then, she smiled. “I’ll have to thank you for all this. Otherwise, I wouldn’t have been able to join the provincial headquarters that fast.
“You happen to be studying at Provincial City, and I think we’ll meet again someday. Sometimes I might need your help too.”
The two people continued chatting as they walked along the street.
Soon, they saw a car driving along the road toward them. It was heading in the direction of the restaurant, but it suddenly braked next to them. The car door opened, and a bookish-looking young man in glasses and a suit came out.
He quickly walked over with an excited look on his face.
“Qingxue!”
He shouted from some distance away. He seemed eager and excited.
Zhao Qingxue furrowed her brows and sighed helplessly when she saw him.
Tang Hao was surprised. He examined that man for a while and seemed to understand something.
“Why is he here?” Zhao Qingxue mumbled as she massaged her temples.
“What about it? He doesn’t look bad!” Tang Hao said with a smile.
“It’s not that. I don’t have any feelings for him. Unfortunately, he’s a little too friendly. He’s been pursuing me from Provincial City.
“That guy’s name is Jiang Yunbo. He’s from the provincial headquarters, and my family is trying to match him together with me. He’s also from a family of police officers, and our families are close friends.” Zhao Qingxue leaned toward Tang Hao and said softly with furrowed brows.
She sounded as though she was grumbling.
The young man soon arrived in front of them. His eyes were transfixed on Zhao Qingxue.
“Is the party already over? Come, let me send you home! When are you going to Provincial City? I can fetch you there,” Jiang Yunbo said with an eager smile.
Zhao Qingxue’s expression was as cold as a glacier. “There’s no need! He’ll fetch me home. I’ve also bought my train ticket to Provincial City!”
Jiang Yunbo’s expression stiffened.
However, he was used to being rejected and soon resumed his calm composure. He glanced at Tang Hao.
“Qingxue, he is…?” He asked.
Zhao Qingxue lifted his hand and, without warning, pulled Tang Hao’s arm close to hers.
Tang Hao stumbled. The two people were leaning intimately against each other as though they were lovers.
Tang Hao was confused and did not react for some time.
Zhao Qingxue smiled sweetly. “Can’t you see for yourself? He’s my boyfriend! Isn’t that obvious?”
She held Tang Hao’s hand tightly and looked at him lovingly.
Jiang Yunbo was both confused and stunned.
Tang Hao was confused and stunned too.
‘What the hell? What’s going on?’
Then, he came to his senses. He was being used as a pretend boyfriend!
He reflexively pulled his hand back, but Zhao Qingxue grabbed it tightly. While he struggled, his elbow bumped into something soft.
A shiver went up Tang Hao’s spine. He dared not move another inch.
His face turned as red as a tomato all of a sudden
