All the lights in the commander center were on.
The atmosphere was noisy and cheerful.
“Thank you for your contribution to the nation, Comrade Tang Hao!”
The military officers crowded around Tang Hao and jostled each other to shake hands with Tang Hao.
Tang Hao maintained a cordial smile on his face. He eventually shook hands with every one of them.
“You’re too friendly!” Tang Hao said, a little surprised.
“Haha!” The military officers laughed when they heard that.
“You’ve done a great service to the country this time, Comrade Tang Hao! You’re a hero now! Look at that, you’ve blown up seven Hindustani military bases, and you’ve also razed the nest of those crafty snake-charmers. No other individual could top what you did!” The commander said with a smile.
He turned to address Taoist Master Qian Ji. “You’ve done your best too, Taoist master!”
“Sigh! I didn’t do anything!” Taoist Master Qian Ji waved his hands and laughed drily.
Right after that, his expression turned serious, and he lowered his voice. “I’d like to report something to you, Commander. It’s not too convenient to speak here. Let’s go inside!”
The commander furrowed his brows when he saw Taoist Master Qian Ji’s changed expression. He realized that the matter was not a trivial one.
“Alright, let’s go inside!”
He led the way into the building.
After going into a room, the commander closed the door and Taoist Master Qian Ji told him his suspicions.
“What? There’s something like that?”
The commander slammed the table and stood up angrily.
A traitor! That was what the military hated the most.
“We will have to investigate this thoroughly and punish that person. The military cannot tolerate the existence of traitors,” the commander said angrily.
“Commander, not many people know that I went on that mission,” Taoist Master Qian Ji said, “It would be easy if we start the investigation with those few people.”
The commander nodded. “Don’t worry. We’ll give you a satisfactory answer.”
Suddenly, they heard a commotion from outside.
After that, they heard someone shouting.
“Let me go! Let me go now! What are you doing? Are you crazy?”
Everyone’s expressions changed drastically when they heard that.
“What’s going on now?” The commander’s expression sank. He seemed unhappy.
They should have been celebrating the success of the mission, but the possibility of a traitor had ruined the mood. What was going on now?
Tang Hao and Taoist Master Qian Ji perked up.
‘That voice… isn’t that Taoist Master Fu Yun?’
They opened the door, looked toward the corridor, and were surprised by what they saw.
A beautiful figure walked in from one end of the corridor. She had a slender and curvaceous figure and wore a military uniform. She was none other than Mu Xintong.
She was dragging someone along as she walked. That person was Taoist Master Fu Yun.
Mu Xintong’s face was cold and impassive like a glacier as usual. She dragged Taoist Master Fu Yun without saying a word.
Meanwhile, Taoist Master Fu Yun shouted weakly. “Let me go!”
He seemed as though someone had beaten him up.
The military officers along the corridor stood there, dumbfounded. They did know what was going on.
“What’s… happening?” Even the commander was surprised. He looked at Taoist Master Qian Ji cluelessly.
He knew that the two Taoist masters were from the Agency, which was not under the control of his western military region.
Taoist Master Qian Ji was also clueless.
Click! Clack!
The sound of military boots walking echoed in the corridor. When she came near, she tossed the person behind her at the commander’s feet.

That gesture was cool and callous without comparison.
Her beautiful face remained cold and impassive. “There’s something suspicious about him earlier! He wanted to run away!” Her icy lips spat out those words.
“That’s nonsense! I wasn’t trying to run away, you b*tch, you’re the suspicious one!”
Taoist Master Fu Yun flopped over and got to his feet. He roared madly while pointing at Mu Xintong.
Mu Xintong narrowed her eyes. She raised her hand and slapped Taoist Master Fu Yun’s face.
Slap! The sound was crisp and loud.
Taoist Master Fu Yun yelped in pain. His body spun outward like a top and fell on the ground.
“You… How dare you hit me? I’m your senior! I’m more experienced than you!” Taoist Master Fu Yun yelled.
“You’re my senior? What a joke! Your cultivation base is weaker than mine. Don’t think that I can’t see that you’re acting suspiciously! I noticed that your expression wasn’t quite right back in the command center.
“I didn’t pay too much attention to it earlier, but as time passed, you seemed to become more and more uneasy. You even wanted to sneak out of the base earlier. Isn’t that suspicious?”
That was the first time Mu Xintong made a speech.
‘Wow! I didn’t expect that she could be so bold!’ Tang Hao was surprised.
He did not expect an ice queen like her could act so decisively.
His expression sank as he glared at Taoist Master Fu Yun.
The Taoist master was on his shortlist of suspicious characters. If what she said was right, then he must be the traitor!
However, Tang Hao still had his doubts.
Taoist Master Fu Yun was a cultivator. Why would he conspire with the Hindustani military? What benefit could they possibly give him?
He thought for a while and suddenly shuddered when he arrived at a conclusion.
‘Unless… he’s doing this because of me?’
His expression became grim when he arrived at that thought.
“It’s you!” Taoist Master Qian Ji was livid. He rushed forward, grabbed Taoist Master Fu Yun’s collar, and punched his face.
“You despicable scoundrel! I nearly lost my life all because of you! If not for Little Brother Tang, I’ll be a goner for sure!”
Taoist Master Qian Ji became angrier the more he spoke. He lifted his hand and delivered several tight slaps on Taoist Master Fu Yun’s face.
“No… It’s not me. It’s really not me!” Taoist Master Fu Yun wailed.
“Why did you try to run away then?” Taoist Master Qian Ji yelled.
“I… I have something urgent!”
“What’s so urgent?”
Taoist Master Fu Yun hemmed and hawed and could not give an answer.
“Dammit, so it’s you, you bastard! And you’re a veteran member of the Agency too. How could you possibly do something like that? What did Hindustan promise you?
“Don’t you know that treason is a serious crime?” Taoist Master Qian Ji roared madly.
“It’s… It’s not Hindustan…” Taoist Master Fu Yun was on the verge of a breakdown. He shook his head violently.
“It’s not Hindustan? Then who is it? Do you think being a traitor is only a joke?”
Taoist Master Fu Yun shut his mouth and did not say another word.
“You wanna be stubborn? Come with me, we’ll have a nice little chat!”
Taoist Master Qian Ji smirked. He dragged Taoist Master Fu Yun down the corridor and into a room.
The door was closed.
Cries of agony could be heard intermittently.
A few minutes later, Taoist Master Qian Ji walked out. His face was grim.
“Did you find anything?” Tang Hao, the commander, and the other officials went up to him.
“Dammit, it’s the Song family! Old Master Song is behind this!” Taoist Master Qian Ji said angrily.
Everyone was shocked when they heard that.
All of them knew who Old Master Song was!
Tang Hao’s expression changed into something terrifying.
