-Hikari POV-

I think the human- no, Alan is not your ordinary man.

To be honest, he is weak. Very weak. After recovering, I did not only start gathering the little magic power around me to get back to my original form but also, began analyzing Alan's skills and stats. This kind of information should always stay private, but you can break this rule by decrypting the information sources. This doesn't take that many large amounts of magic, just a lot of time and dedication.

And so I found out something very surprising and, overall, strange: Alan has zero magic power.

It is widely known humans have little magic power, but Alan was on a whole new level, absolute zero, null.

And as I wondered how he survived, without light, buffs, or magic creation, he decided to prove my 'weakling' theory wrong.

Alan has a talent for coming up with never thought solutions to the problems I mentioned before. He just thinks outside the box.

What impressed me the most is the technique he used to light up the fire... When he was drilling the wood with that strange-looking bow, I wondered if he had gone crazy...

Hahahaha...

But now, everything is over.

The beast we were facing was one even I, in my best shape, might have difficulties dealing with him. Mostly because it was part of an extinguished mythic-like species. Long ago, the species, which are called Boars, governed a considerable amount of territory in the north of the demon king's empire. But the foolish Boars, thought there was no being strong enough to stop them anymore! So they decided to attack the demon empire's capital and take over.

They were obliterated by the demon king's army, never to be seen again. But as this situation looks like, there was at least one of them, who managed to escape his tribe's doom and take shelter in the forest of nowhere...

Alan could not use magic, and I wasn't in any condition to use it either.

It was fun while it lasted. I loved the new name he thought for me: Hikari...

I will at least buy him enough time to escape, with luck and being him, Alan might be able to survive.

I saw death getting closer as the Boar ran forward.

His arm fell upon me and I died... Or at least that's how it should have developed. The Boat missed the hit, no, it's more accurate to say: Alan made him miss the hit.

-Alan POV-

Engineers are not known for their fighting abilities.

They build things.

They create things.

But what engineers are actually superb at is understanding the world around them.

My mind is processing a lot of information at this moment, despite everything coming down to one question:

What if I am not in my original world?

But now is not the right time to think about this. There is a precious companion of mine about to be killed, and only I can make a difference.

How, you ask?

The universe has laws.

Laws, that even if I am in another world, even if strange occurrences take place, cannot be overturned.

That's the extent of how powerful they are.

Mankind has spent copious amounts of time, money, and effort into understanding them, and even so, we are only at the top of the iceberg.

The first time someone thought about the concept of the atom, was even before Christ was born.

And thousands of years later, mankind was still discovering never seen before properties of the same atom concept.

When we understand those laws, they consequently make us less ignorant and more capable of interacting with real objects.

Let's say as an example, a beast's hand is falling upon you, and you have no means to protect yourself.

Instead of taking all the impact to yourself, how about you try canalizing the force with its same power to another direction?

That way, the one taking the damage will be the ground, and you will be treated just as collateral.

And before the beast has enough reaction time to realize what just happened, you could, theoretically, use the stone axe I am holding in my right hand to swing, not only with brute power but also with the world's gravity acceleration, toward a convenient wood stake I placed on top of the beast neck. That will concentrate all the stone axe swing power to the same origin point, multiplying the newton force applied.

So, although you wouldn't deal enough damage by yourself to penetrate the thick skin of the beast, you can bypass it with physics! And by penetrating the neck, you are destroying the spinal cord, which also transmits electric signals to the brain.

In conclusion, the confused animal will indefinitely remain paralyzed and eventually dead (that's in case surgery isn't conducted right this moment, which, of course, is not the case).

...

*Haaah-haaah...*

I went white for a minute there... My head... Is all over the place, Hikari was attacked by a wild beast...

Not of this world...

I think- I think I am going to rest for a while.

*Puff*

The Boar fell defeated with Alan who was way too tired to remain conscious even for a second more.

But the winner of the fight was clear as water.

Mankind's knowledge and civility triumphed over pure violence.
