Chapter 15: Chapter 13: Ç’est la révolution!

As I continued working, a guard suddenly opened the door.

"Princess, the people have started a revolution! They have already reached the palace doors!"

"What? Well, it isn't that unexpected... How long can we contain them?"

"The new congress created by hero-sama has already redeployed most of the military power from the capital, so not for much longer!"

"Understood, prepare immediate evacuation. Tell my father to follow the suit."

As the guard ran away and my private military force enabled the backdoor hidden in my room, I looked back at the window for a minute.

I will try to reunite our most trustful ministers and take back the reigns of the situation.

At least demons will be ecstatic about the current human empire state. They have us right on a silver plate.

After I got out of the sewers, dark clouds began filling the sky, rain was pouring down my cheeks.

My citizens took down the throne room doors.

I was waiting for them with a smile.

I knew clear as water their reasons as to why they were here, but...

"My dear citizens, tell me the motive behind your rushed arrival."

The newly appointed prime minister, Joseph, former director of the most popular casino in the capital, closed up the distance.

"Unnecessary. You heartless, corrupt, king already know the motive behind our intrusion. We want you to resign and move all your power to us, the citizens of the empire!"

"No problem."

"We are even going to resort to violence if it means-" *Huh?*

"Yes, take the remaining of my political power, not like there is that much." *Hahahahaha!*

The prime minister Joseph looked dumbfounded.

I already thought of this decision long ago. This was my poor atonement for my countless mistakes.

Blood spurted out as I regretted my poorly thought actions.

I am sorry, my dear daughter, this sinner of an old man is leaving first.

"You idiot! You wasted your life trying to kill the only man who fought for the noble cause of giving us true freedom! Not unlike yourself, who only cared about, luxuries and property!"

My life was never easy-going, I had to face countless challenges to protect those dear to me, but in the end, I was foolish.

I gave the goddess my responsibilities, the king's responsibilities.

If I hadn't placed that much trust in a person, I just met, maybe... I should have taken matters more into my hands, and avoided relying on unknown factors who presented as the saviors of this country just because of a title.
