Chapter 68: Meredith and Sophia 

Bruce left the room and looked for Meredith. He swept the entire hospital but couldn't find Meredith anywhere. He did find Chelsey and Deion having an intimate session in a room. Recalling Deion dumped gasoline onto him a couple of weeks ago, Bruce smiled evilly as he walked toward Deion's room.

Bruce barged into the room and saw Deion on top of Chelsey doing God knows what.

"Deion buddy, are you okay?" Bruce pretended to feel concerned for Deion.

"Eeeeekkkk" Chelsey screamed.

"Don't you know how to knock?" Deion was furious.

"That's ironic coming from you" Bruce smirked.

Chelsey pushed Deion away and left the bed. She started to fix her clothing and hair to make herself presentable again. Bruce had greatly soured the intimate mood after catching the couple red-handed.

"What do you want?" Deion asked grumpily. He knew that Bruce wanted to foil his session with Chelsey.

"Can't I just visit my friend to check up on him?" Bruce asked innocently.

"Fart, if I believe that then I would be in the heavens right now!" Deion didn't buy Bruce's bullshit excuse. Why would he need to check up on Deion when he was the one bleeding like a fountain two days ago?

"Chelsey, don't you find Deion very cruel?" Bruce pretended to cry.

Chelsey rolled her eyes at Bruce. After taking the mission with Bruce, she learned a great deal about him. If anything, he was the most vicious bandit she had ever seen.

"Hmph, even Chelsey didn't believe you" Deion grinned in triumph.

"Chelsey, where is Meredith right now?" Bruce stopped playing around and asked the real question.

"She's currently resting at her home" Chelsey replied.

"Has she not woken up yet?" Bruce asked anxiously. 

"No, but she should wake up soon" Chelsey shook her head.

"Thanks, Chelsey. You guys can return to whatever was happening before" Bruce smiled and left the room.

"You heard him, Chelsey, let's get back to what we were doing" Deion reached out to Chelsey's waist only to get slapped away.

"Absolutely not! I'm not in the mood anymore" Chelsey left the room as well leaving Deion alone.

"Bruce, you'll pay for this!" Deion yelled.

Ignoring the commotions happening in the hospital, Bruce flew to Meredith's house. On the way, he met a lovely figure waiting for him.

"Hello Sophia" Bruce greeted.

"Hello, Bruce" Sophia smiled beneath her veil.

"What are you doing?" Bruce asked.

"Waiting for you" Sophia answered without any hesitation.

"How did you know I would be here?" Bruce felt something wasn't right.

"I was informed that you woke up recently and naturally, you would go to this route to see Meredith" Sophia replied calmly.

"I see…." Bruce nodded while feeling nervous. Sophia is such a terrifying woman that she's able to predict what he'd do. However, he knew that she has the best intentions for him.

"Sophia, don't you have a fiancée?" Bruce brought up the elephant in the room.

"Yes, what about it?" Her beautiful eyes stared at him without any ripples in her expression.

"Wouldn't that person be furious if he finds out you're interacting with me like this?"

"Oh. Are you chickening out after asking me on a date?" Sophia charmingly asked.

"Hell no! If that guy comes here, then I'll beat him up" Bruce smacked his chest. For some reason, he really couldn't let go of Sophia. It felt like she was meant to be in his life.

"Then I will rely on you when that day comes" Sophia giggled.

Bruce shook his head and thought about Meredith.

"Sophia, it's best if you don't come with me to Meredith's house"

"Why is that?" Sophia asked.

"Meredith has a lot of trouble sharing me with other people"

"She will feel upset if she sees you with me" Bruce sighed.

"Bruce, you are the most talented person in this world."

"It's natural for you to have multiple partners" Sophia disagreed.

"Even so, it doesn't mean that I should." Bruce still didn't want to hurt Meredith's feelings.

"Let me convince Meredith before you both meet. Deal?"

"Okay" Sophia smiled and flew away. Sophia felt that Meredith was extremely lucky to have met Bruce before her. But life is all about winning the war, not the battle. Bruce can only have one top position in his heart and that position belongs to her.

Bruce opened Meredith's door with the key she gave him. He recalled the scene that occurred a while ago when he first used the key. He shook his head when he thought about the interactions he had with her father.

He walked to the living room and was immediately attacked by another soul.

"Who the hell are you!" Emperor Lockwood exclaimed.

"My eyes must be fuzzy since the same crazy man is staring at me" Bruce rubbed his eyes real hard.

When he opened his eyes again, he found Emperor Lockwood staring at him maliciously.

"Crazy old man, what are you doing here?" Bruce cursed his luck for meeting this old bastard here again.

"Crazy? Do you know who I am brat?" Emperor Lockwood didn't have a good impression of this handsome boy in front of him. He was equally irritating as that ugly boyfriend of his daughter.

"Yeah, you're Emperor Lockwood. Father of my girlfriend" Bruce huffed in anger.

"Girlfriend?" Emperor Lockwood looked at Bruce in surprise and then he started to remember Bruce's voice.

"Wait, are you Bruce Pendragon?" Emperor Lockwood said in shock.

"That's my fake name."

"My real name is Bruce Stellae. This is my real appearance" Bruce smirked gleefully at Emperor Lockwood. He felt vindictive towards Emperor Lockwood for treating him badly before.

"Heavens, why are you doing this? It's unfair!" Emperor Lockwood cried out loud. Not only is the kid talented, but he's also extremely handsome. Emperor Lockwood already imagined how his wife would treat Bruce after meeting him.

"What's all the commotion?" A beautiful middle-aged woman walked out of Meredith's room. Just like Meredith, she had pale blue hair. If she were ten years older, she would look just like Meredith.

Bruce picked up the signals and immediately turned to his best behavior.

"Hello mother-in-law, my name is Bruce Stellae"

"It's a pleasure to meet you"

"Oh my…" Empress Lockwood was surprised to see a young man bowing in front of her. He even claimed that she was his mother-in-law. Instead of acting imprudently like her husband, she decided to ask a few questions.

"Young man, why are you calling me mother-in-law?"

"It's because Meredith is currently my girlfriend and I plan to marry her in the future" Bruce proudly declared.

"I see… You have to successfully marry her to call me mother-in-law, you know that right?" Empress Lockwood spoke in a teasing tone.

Bruce gulped when hearing her voice, but he didn't falter.

"I'm sure she'll say yes to marrying me. If you guys don't agree, then we'll elope!" Bruce replied shamelessly.

"You brat!" Emperor Lockwood was furious.

"Calm down you old thing" Empress Lockwood chided her husband. She found Bruce to be very daring and handsome. Someone worthy of her daughter. If it's true that her daughter chose him then she would have no problem allowing them to get married.

"How old are you this year Bruce?" Empress Lockwood started the marriage interview as the two of them walked into Meredith's room. Meredith was still unconscious.

"Wife... Don't get distracted by his charms!" Emperor Lockwood wanted to cry but had no tears.

"Mother-in-law, I'm 16 years old" Bruce replied.

"Unbelievable, you're at the Divine King stage while only at 16!" Empress Lockwood was shocked at Bruce's talent. A typical genius would take at least 25 years to reach the Divine King stage. Reaching that level at the age of 16 was unheard of.

"Haha, that's nothing mother-in-law."

"I have you know that I defeated an early-stage Divine Emperor two days ago!" Bruce proudly listed his accomplishment in front of his future in-laws.

"You surely must be joking" Empress Lockwood didn't believe Bruce one bit.

"I'm very serious! You can ask grandpa-in-law about it. He was there at the scene"

"You know my father-in-law?" Empress Lockwood was surprised to know about all this.

"Yes, I know him and the other Great Emperors from the Alliance of Kingdom as well"

"Oh my… You must be a big shot now" Realizing that Bruce was completely serious, Empress Lockwood saw him in a new light.

As Empress Lockwood asked more questions about Bruce's background, Meredith opened her eyes for the first time in three days. When she looked around, she saw her mother talking to someone.

"Bruce…" Meredith muttered.
