After finishing the runes magic textbook in a couple of hours, Bruce solidified his fundamentals in runes magic. However, he still had some questions unanswered.
He then reached out to the one person that could resolve the questions for him.
"The Monarch, are you there?" Bruce yelled into the dark room.
The Monarch did not respond to Bruce as he stood in complete silence.
"You know I'm going to keep calling you out until you answer" Bruce shamelessly spewed out his plan.
"What do you want? I'm trying to take a nap!" The Monarch appeared.
"We literally spoke twice over a period of one month"
"How can you sleep for that much?"
"Because I can" The Monarch lazily replied.
"Urghhh" Bruce was frustrated at The Monarch. How could there be such a lazy person in the world?
"What do you want? I need to get back to my nap" The Monarch yawned.
"Can you teach me runes magic?" Bruce clasped his hands together and begged.
"Before coming here, what did you think my answer would be?" The Monarch opened one of his eyes to look at the shameless person in front of him.
"Your kindhearted self will teach this lowly mortal runes magic" Bruce smiled.
"Hell no!"
"Go away!" The Monarch shooed Bruce.
"But I need to learn more about runes magic, and no one is there to teach me!" Bruce yelled in frustration.
"Runes magic is the most complex topic in this world"
"Those who delve into this profession will only spend the rest of their lives trying to solve its mysteries" The Monarch said softly.
"You and I both know that there's not enough time for me to teach you everything about runes magic"
"Also, you will not be a great runemaster if you rely on me for everything. I thought I told you that before"
"I know, but there are some fundamental questions about runes magic that I'd like to get answers from you"
The Monarch tapped his finger a few times on the throne's arms and nodded.
"Fine, you may ask me one question about runes magic"
"Why does runes magic work in this world?" Bruce asked.
"Heh, asking the hardest question immediately. You're such a sneaky brat"
"I will only tell you the answer partially. You will need to solve the rest by yourself"
Bruce nodded and began to take notes.
"There are fundamental laws in this universe that cannot be changed. If they are violated, the universe will be in complete chaos"
"There are also laws in the universe that can be manipulated or changed. The prime example of this would be the Nether Realm"
"The universe's laws ensure a dying soul would be reincarnated back into an infant. The creator of the Nether Realm changed the laws so that a dying soul would be transferred to the Nether Realm and the person retains his or her cultivation"
"In other words, the creator of the Nether Realm changed the laws of Life and Death"
Bruce gasped when he learned the truth about the Nether Realm's creator. How could there be such a powerful being?
"Runes magic is the application of the universal laws. If you understand the universal laws, then you basically understand all there is about runes magic"
"Once you understand a universal law, you can manipulate that law for your own personal gains"
"You can create runes that destroy planets or create runes that protect against powerful beings"
The Monarch waved his hand and countless runes appeared in front of Bruce. The runes were so complex and powerful that Bruce had to use everything he had to look at them.
"The possibilities are endless once you grasp the universal laws"

Seeing Bruce earnestly writing down notes, The Monarch smiled.
"The reason why most people don't go far in runes magic is that they don't fully grasp the universal laws"
"As you cultivate and gain more powers, you will also understand more about the laws of the universe"
"Hence, the most powerful cultivators tend to be powerful runemasters as well"
"Does that answer your question?"
Bruce thought for a few moments and nodded.
"Good, now go away. I need to nap" The Monarch raised up his hands and yawned.
"But is that everything there is to runes magic?" As Bruce listened to the short lecture, he had a burning question in his mind.
"From what I've heard from your lecture, runes magic is the application of universal laws"
"I can use runes to manipulate the laws of the universe, but I cannot change the fundamental laws of the universe"
"As I increase my cultivation, I will increase my proficiency in runes magic as well."
"But what if I want to create a new law?"
"Or even better, how would I break a law?"
"Is such a thing even possible? If so, how powerful do I have to be to do that?"
The Monarch was surprised when Bruce asked him that question. For someone at the Divine King level, it was unimaginable to even think of something like that.
"Let's just say that nothing is impossible" The Monarch didn't directly answer Bruce's question and disappeared.
"So, it is possible…" Bruce muttered.
Bruce opened his eyes and his room appeared in the view once again. He began to digest what he just learned from the Monarch and theorized a few concepts for possible universal laws that he would like to create.
Sitting on his bed, Bruce casually created a few runes in thin air instead of using the papers specialized for runes magic. The runes remained intact in the air and when he snapped his fingers, the runes shattered leaving cracks in the wall.
His understanding of runes magic was much more profound than before. It's a shame that his understanding of the universal laws is limited due to his cultivation. Seeing that the morning has arrived, he left his house and went to his team's meeting room.
Surprisingly, he was the last one to arrive.
"Everyone is here, let's head out" Ariel ordered.
Everyone nodded and left the headquarter of the Eastern Faction.
Unlike his usual chatter self, Bruce stayed quiet during the travel. The other members were surprised that Bruce managed to keep up with their speed, proving that he was capable of carrying out his part in the mission.
Ariel found Bruce's behaviors to be quite irregular as she expected him to annoy her during the travel. Nevertheless, she didn't care what he was up to. Her main focus was to complete the mission successfully with everyone alive.
Meanwhile, Bruce looked at his surroundings carefully. He wanted to see what kind of runes are placed in the Nether Realm to be able to change the laws of life and death.
He noticed that the atmosphere in the Nether Realm was completely different than that of his world. Perhaps it was due to the manipulated laws.
As the group traveled across The Abyss, they encountered many different beings, but they all ran away after encountering the group's aura.
After two days, the team was finally near the cliff where the corpse of the thunder-winged tiger was. As they approached their target, several other auras appeared.
"Looks like we have bastards from the Eastern Faction with us today" A young man with a devilish look stood in front of the team.
Behind him are ten people with Divine Emperor auras.
"Get out of our way or die!" Ariel slashed her sword in the air.
"How scary…."
"Maybe I'll let you get the corpse if you agree to be my woman" The young man looked at Ariel in a lecherous manner.
Before Ariel could respond to the deviant pervert, she almost wanted to strangle someone else.
"Trying to bully my future wife in front of me is quite daring"
"I see that you have chosen death" Bruce stood in front of the team and flipped off the leader of the other side.
