Chapter 473: Roar

Translator: CKtalon  Editor: CKtalon

After finding his seat, the train set off. Fangzheng listened to the conversations around him as he quietly leaned into his seat and took a nap.

The trip took Fangzheng two days and two nights. He arrived at his destination only three days later. However Fangzheng did not feel like he had arrived in another city. It was still the same concrete jungle with the same skyscrapers. It was as though Fangzheng had never stepped out of Black Mountain City.

Fangzheng took out his cell phone and gave Liu Dacheng a call.

“Fangzheng, you’ve arrived? Where are you?” asked Liu Dacheng.

“Amitabha. This Penniless Monk is at the entrance.”

“Walk forward. After you walk past the traffic island covered in greenery, turn right. I’m just too busy today. I got a friend to fetch you. He knows what you look like. All you need to do is wait by the road.”

He hung up after Fangzheng gave an acknowledgment.

Fangzheng followed Liu Dacheng’s request and passed the traffic island before then going round the corner. He waited there, and just moments later two people walked over from afar. There was a man and a woman. The man was dressed in a suit with leather shoes. His hair was waxed so much that it glistened. Logically speaking, this was nothing odd. However Fangzheng looked into the sky before looking down at the thick leather shoes, the type worn only in winter, and the somewhat thick suit, as well as the man’s forehead that was sweating profusely. Fangzheng grinned and thought to himself, “There are people who aren’t afraid of dying in this day and age! No wonder he was hiding in the supermarket and not standing out here. If he waited outside, it wouldn’t take him more than three minutes to collapse and be sent to the hospital. Isn’t he afraid of suffering from heat stroke?”

The woman beside the man wore something relatively simple. Her clothes were a little old, and although her hair had been tidied nicely, Fangzheng could see covetous looks from their faces and eyes! Back then on Mt. One Finger, it was similar during his first encounter with Lone Wolf.

Fangzheng sized them up, but they too were sizing him up.

“Xu Yin, he’s really a monk. That fellow Liu Dacheng actually managed to get a monk here. He… He really is a pioneer,” whispered the woman.

“Who cares, as long as he has money. Which monk these days isn’t filthy rich? Liu Dacheng is also quite a cunning one. Monks are typically honest. Will you have to worry about not having money if you just use some trickery on him? Song Keling, everything should go according to plan. Don’t you forget,” said Xu Yin.

“Don’t worry. This isn’t the first time I’m bringing someone back. I’m just envious. Liu Dacheng has completed a few downlines. This monk looks clean, and his clothes look pretty good. He must have money. Besides, he doesn’t look like someone fierce. We will definitely earn from him.”

“Enough. Cut it out. I’m f**king dying of the heat.”

As they spoke, the duo arrived in front of Fangzheng. Xu Yin revealed what he deemed a proper smile. “Venerable Fangzheng?”

“Amitabha. Patron, what did you say?” Fangzheng returned the greeting. However, his nefarious side was up to mischief again.

Xu Yin was taken aback. Was his voice too soft and gentle? Therefore he tried again, “Are you Venerable Fangzheng?”

“What?” Fangzheng continued asking. For some reason, he was elated at seeing the beads of perspiration drop down Xu Yin’s forehead. He mused over the effects it would bring if it began cascading down like a waterfall. The situation in front of him had basically confirmed Fangzheng’s guess. Furthermore, their conversation which they believed to be private had been perfectly overheard by Fangzheng’s super awesome hearing. He naturally did not stand on ceremony.

“Are you Venerable Fangzheng?” Xu Yin was puzzled. Why was the monk who looked perfectly fine deaf? Liu Dacheng had never mentioned that he had auditory problems!

Fangzheng gave a look of enlightenment. “Oh, This Penniless Monk is Fangzheng. Patron, you are?”

“I’m Xu Yin. CEO Liu got us to receive you. Venerable One, it’s too hot today. Let’s speak in the car.” Xu Yin beckoned his hand as a private car drove over and stopped by the trio’s side.

Xu Yin said, “This is Song Keling, CEO Liu’s secretary. Venerable One, please get in. It’s scorching hot today.” Xu Yin was practically roaring the entire time, afraid that Fangzheng did not hear him.

However…

Fangzheng still said to him with an adorable look. “Speak louder! I’m suffering from a little heat stroke. My ears are buzzing! What did you say?”

“I…” Xu Yin was about to curse as this was too much! He pointed to the car: “Get in!”

Fangzheng replied, “Not hungry!”

“F**k!” Xu Yin really cursed. He nearly stuck his mouth to Fangzheng’s ear and shouted, “I didn’t ask you if you were hungry. I told you to get in the car!”

“I’m really not hungry!” Fangzheng roared as well. His voice was very loud as he leaned in close. Xu Yin darted backwards while covering his ears.

Song Keling was also dumbfounded when she saw this. They had met many rookies in the past, but this was the first time they were meeting someone like this! She was a little vexed. Had he seen through them? But he did not look like he was nervous, scared, or anxious. He looked like he trusted them greatly.

With this in mind, Song Keling leaned over. “Venerable Fangzheng, get in the car! CEO Liu is waiting for you at the company!”

“Get in the car? Is the company very far?” Fangzheng roared back.

Song Keling also darted away while covering her ears. Her ears were buzzing as though her eardrums had ruptured. She was too deep for tears! She cursed inwardly. “How is this darn baldy’s voice so loud? It doesn’t match his mild appearance at all!”

Xu Yin could no longer endure the heat. He unbuttoned two buttons as his white shirt was already drenched. He even found breathing a chore. As he cursed the crazy weather inwardly, he charged forward once again and was about to shout at Fangzheng. However Fangzheng suddenly took a step back. He was burning with anxiety, because the heat was tormenting him! He only wished to take Fangzheng away. Therefore he held Fangzheng’s shoulders and leaned over. “Venerable Fangzheng, get in the car! Let’s go!”

The moment he finished his shout, he quickly released his hands and retreated, pulling a gap between them to prevent himself from being shouted at again.

However Fangzheng mimicked him. He too grabbed Xu Yin’s shoulders passionately, but he did not retreat. He shouted with a thunderous roar, “I’m really not hungry! You don’t have to be so polite!”

“F*ck!” Xu Yin squatted in the corner while covering his ears. The weather was burning hot and he did not have water with him. After being tormented all day, his ears were already buzzing from the shouts. He was nauseous, and he felt weak.

When Song Keling saw Xu Yin squat, the clever her decisively took out her cell phone and typed a line of text before showing it to Fangzheng. “Venerable Fangzheng, get in the car. We are setting off. CEO Liu is waiting for you at the company. The company is rather far.” While doing that, she thought to herself, “Let’s see what else you can do!”

Song Keling was only sounding out Fangzheng to see if he had figured anything out. It would be troublesome if he had really figured out something; however, they had thankfully made arrangements ahead of time.

But what astonished Song Keling was that Fangzheng took over her cell phone with a smile. He typed a paragraph of text: “Thank you. This Penniless Monk hails from the northeast. This Penniless Monk took the train for two days and two nights. You have no idea how tiring it was…” Song Keling originally believed that things were finally working out with Fangzheng, but she soon realized something was amiss! The monk was slow at typing, and he was extremely naggy! Just his recount of the train ride took him five minutes! If this really continued, Song Keling would really faint from the heat!
