He had picked a champion whose damage wasn’t considered very high, yet he was used to playing champions with high burst damage usually, at present he felt especially unaccustomed.
Once Mo Huaifeng spoke, everyone instantly became more nervous, those who ought to engage and wear their opponents out did so, those who ought to jungle focused on jungling. As the champions that they had picked weren’t too strong, no one took the initiative to engage Tall Boots; everyone was conscientiously carrying out their duties… From time to time when Tall Boots couldn’t bear it and wandered near their turrets, it was threatening but not dangerous. Though their skills used were as fierce as tigers, nothing had happened at all.
Mix very rarely played such safe matches, hence the information available was also very little, Tall Boots evidently had not seen such pestering handling and began to become irritable. After Xiaoye repeatedly sounded them out on the margin of the middle lane, he directly prepared to dive the turret for a kill with Lan Guang.
Heng: “F*ck, what is up with Ye-god, he’s like a corgi gone mad. NoHomo quickly get here, any later and the only thing you’ll be seeing is my corpse!”
Ji Zhiyao: “On the way! Stop wailing, if it really doesn’t work out I’ll clean up your corpse for you! You’re a mid-laner, carry position, don’t make yourself out to be like our team’s trashy support, he runs behind Captain’s butt everyday calling for help, why has that become you now?”
Nuo: “Don’t think I can’t hear you! NoHomo, you’re totally just envious that I can follow behind Captain’s butt and be carried to a win!”
Ji Zhiyao: “Wouldn’t you just shut up!”
As the few of them were gabbing away, Xiaoye and Lan Guang had already entered the turret while tanking its damage. Meanwhile Ji Zhiyao had not arrived and Heng was very pitifully dodging left and right but was still hacked till he was left with a shred of health.
But Xiaoye and Lan Guang weren’t any better off too. Although Lan Guang had chosen a slightly tankier assassin, he still wasn’t as tough now and the amount of damage that he could resist was already at the maximum. Just then, Ji Zhiyao arrived, Xiaoye and Lan Guang began to retreat.
Yet Heng was still filled with pent-up grievances, and released an ability after watching for an opportunity, trapping both of them under the turret for two seconds, then worked with Ji Zhiyao to take Lan Guang’s head, Xiaoye escape with a trifle of health.
Meanwhile things weren’t too good in the top lane. K was entirely locked in the turret by the opposite ADC and had been killed single handedly by him three times already. The gold that Ji Zhiyao and Heng had were all wasted on K.
K was in despair too. “NoHomo come to the top lane, are you being chained to the middle lane?”
Ji Zhiyao: “… If you insult me again you shall be left to your own defenses.”
K: “I dare not anymore! Boohoo!”
Ji Zhiyao had no choice. After returning to the fountain to regain health and catch a breather, he then rushed non-stop towards the top lane.
Lan Guang’s motility was really good, his vision of the overall situation was also much better, allowing him to watch over all top, middle and bottom lanes, side by side, Ji Zhiyao slightly paled in comparison.
Yet Ji Zhiyao wasn’t flurried, instead he was extremely confident. Lan Guang was indeed good with his overall vision, strong handling, yet he had managed to kill Lan Guang single-handedly before. He had good overall vision too, more importantly, their team has a wolf locked up in the bottom lane, if nothing works out, just lie on the ground, Mo Huaifeng will lead the breakthrough all the way to the championship title.
That’s right, that’s the way!
Under such self-consolation that was just slightly short of hypnosis, Ji Zhiyao noticed a flaw in the opponent and killed Tall Boots’ ADC.
Once the system flashed out the notice, even Mo Huaifeng was slightly stunned. Tall Boots’ ADC’s movements were especially indecipherable and was a publicly acknowledged second hardest to kill ADC; of course, the first was Mo Huaifeng himself, but he didn’t expect Ji Zhiyao to actually kill him all on his own.
He smiled.
Ji Zhiyao was pleased, having gotten a kill. K, who escaped his predicament was equally pleased. As the opposite support had run away too quickly, the two of them did not manage to catch him but instead directly pushed down the outermost turret at the top lane in one vigorous effort.
The duration of the competition grew longer and longer, Tall Boots’ lineup was not suitable for late game, as they became more worn out the longer the game went on. Finally in the 37th minute, Mo Huaifeng killed off Xiaoye alone by Tall Boots’ fountain and pushed down the crystal.
They took the first win.
Everyone pulled off their headphones and prepared to return to the waiting room.
Before he left the stage, Ji Zhiyao clearly heard someone in the front row calling his name, along with what “MelonRind mummy loves you”, he paused in his steps and looked down.
Right at the end of the second row, there were several girls raising support banners for him up high, as if seeing that he was looking in their direction, they were excitedly waving the banners in their hands.
Ji Zhiyao showed a big smile, waved to them, then made an “all the best” gesture before he left the stage.
They’d had just stepped into the participants’ passageway, Ji Zhiyao was still immersed in the excitement that he actually had fans and they were all young ladies, when he heard a sneer coming from not too far away above his ear. “You look very happy?”
Ji Zhiyao replied readily, “Of course I’m happy, who wouldn’t be happy to have pretty fans?”
“Oh.”
“Cough cough cough cough!” K and Nuo suddenly began to cough together, the sound they made was very loud. Ji Zhiyao turned back all baffled, “You guys are coughing so hard, did you choke?”
Yet both of them did not reply, only persistently winking at him along with sideways glances to gesture something. Ji Zhiyao stared for some time, then gradually turned back as if he was suddenly reminded of something, and found that Mo Huaifeng was expressionlessly very close to where he had stood earlier, the distance was less than 5 cm.
“Um what, there’s only a total of 15 minutes, let’s quickly go back and make use of the time to rest!”
With that, he escaped in a dash.
The break ended, signaling the start of the second match.
Due to their victory of the previous match, everyone’s mood was slightly more relaxed, under Mo Huaifeng’s strong recommendation, the entire team essentially selected high burst damage champions.
When they were waiting for the countdown to end and enter in the loading of the game, Ji Zhiyao suddenly said, “If by any chance the opponents picked all tank-like champions, then wouldn’t we be very dead?”
Heng: “It won’t be, Tall Boots has never been good at playing those kind of champions.”
K: “Yeah yeah don’t worry, they only like high damage ones.”
Nuo: “Don’t be scared, I’m very tank-like too.”
Mo Huaifeng: “Don’t say anything, shut up.”
Ji Zhiyao was very aggrieved, he had merely mentioned a very logical possibility, why was Captain treating him like this!
A few seconds after, as the game loaded, Ji Zhiyao looked at the row of four tanks on the screen.
The others stayed mum too.
Heng almost jumped up from his chair. “Damn it, what the hell is Tall Boots playing at? All tanks except for the ADC? What pestering strategy is this?”
“Our damage ratio is higher, we can win, buy more expose armors in your equipment.” Mo Huaifeng analyzed, then turned to look Ji Zhiyao. “Next time before a competition, I’ll stuff your mouth first.”
Ji Zhiyao laughed dryly. “Don’t be like that daddy Fi, you make me feel that I am especially like a spy sent from the opposite.”
Mo Huaifeng: “Are you not?”
Ji Zhiyao quickly expressed his loyalty. “Of course not! You’re so good-looking, who else could I be a spy for?”
Mo Huaifeng replied to that. “Tsk.”
Ji Zhiyao secretly peeped at him and found that the corner of his lips were tugged upwards, appearing to be in a rather good mood and hence started to feel proud again.

The sound effects of the game starting sounded in his ear, Ji Zhiyao quickly pulled his gaze back and concentrated wholly on gaming.
It didn’t mean that opponents that were all tanks were impossible to defeat, after they still have times when they are not as durable, as long as they are kept from developing, and their levels kept suppressed, anything was possible.
Before the match began, Ji Zhiyao had thought this way.
Yet less than five minutes into the game, he had already retracted his earlier thought and gave himself a slap at heart.
Because the champions that everyone selected had high burst damage, there were some disparity in other aspects, for example speed, every champion’s movement speed was not very high.
Take Ji Zhiyao for example, he was obediently jungling and developing in the jungle when Lan Guang came hurling over to counter-jungle, while putting up a show of chasing and cornering. Ji Zhiyao was slow in his movements and was driven into a corner, his life was taken right away.
In the time where he was waiting to respawn, he realized it had not only happened to him, it was the same for the other positions in the team.
This also resulted in 15 minutes into the game, the levels of Mix’s entire team being one level lower than their opponent team.
Ji Zhiyao began to grow restless. “Captain, I’ve been killed three times, if we really cannot win this let’s just surrender, there’s still the next match.”
K was still slightly better off while Heng and Nuo were equally broken from being killed repeatedly. Heng said, “Although it’s rather deserving of a beating to surrender during a competition, but letting things drag on this way is not an option too. Now I can’t even cower under a turret even if I want to, the opponents are diving the turrets for kills every single minute.”
Mo Huaifeng: “Keep going for now, we can win.”
The others stopped talking. Ji Zhiyao clicked to open the gold stats, the top in their team was indeed Mo Huaifeng, but there was still a gap of a few hundred gold with the opposite, how was it possible to play on?
Though they were feeling doubtful at heart, they had absolute trust in Mo Huaifeng. Ji Zhiyao carefully observed the maps, jungling as he hid from Lan Guang, hoping to pull some gold for the team.
Five minutes later, in such a precarious atmosphere, the game effect of a single-handed kill suddenly sounded through the ear-mic.
In the bottom lane, Mo Huaifeng killed Tall Boot’s top laner.
Ji Zhiyao was stunned and took another glance at the gold stats, realizing that unsure when, Mo Huaifeng’s gold had already matched that of the player with the second highest gold opposite. “Damn, Captain, what’s with you?”
Mo Huaifeng: “They’re being too frivolous, not killing the minions.”
So Captain was taking the opportunity while the opponents were wandering to kill all the minions to develop and level up, then grab the chance for kills?
Simply incredible.
Ji Zhiyao’s confidence was greatly boosted that he said as he stared at the screen, “Why don’t we play a 4-for-1 strategy?”
Mo Huaifeng: “The champions that you guys have are not suitable. Develop yourselves first, if you meet the opponents stay together. NoHomo, you keep an eye on K’s side, prepare to push through both top and bottom lanes, keep the middle lane defended.”
Ji Zhiyao: “Alright, got it.”
Heng: “I understand now, Captain is telling me, ‘Remain steady don’t be dissolute, don’t feed and you’ll be carried to a win.’”
Ji Zhiyao laughed while running to the top lane. “How great would it be if you kept some face for yourself?”
Heng: “I’m actually proud that I am able to eat for free.”
Ji Zhiyao arrived at the top lane and decided to hide and not move, pretending as if he was here to jungle. The opposite ADC and support sure enough hesitated for a while, then continued with their harassment. At this time, Ji Zhiyao leaped out of the bush and held down the two mutts, giving them a good thrashing. Both of them were preparing to happily harvest their kills when someone suddenly appeared from the bush opposite.
It was Lan Guang.
The two idiots with half of their health left were instant goners.
The advantage in gold that Mo Huaifeng had just brought was given away with both hands by Ji Zhiyao and K in the blink of an eye.
Mo Huaifeng suppressed the urge to throw both of them out, mocking, “Are both of your eyes on your heels?”
Heng scratched his head. “Oh dear, I thought he was returning to his base to regenerate health so I didn’t inform you guys. Who knew this bastard was so good at acting, he actually ran to your side.”
K gritted his teeth, “Belated words!”
As the both of them waiting to respawn, the second turret on the top lane had already been pushed down, even the blue buff in the jungle was taken by Lan Guang. His dignity as jungler had been trampled on, Ji Zhiyao gritted his teeth so hard that they rattled, as he felt the strength from the god of revenge filling his entire body.
Three minutes after respawning, Ji Zhiyao killed Lan Guang, pulling the game back.
In such an atmosphere of trying to outdo one another, this match was dragged into its 50th minute. Ji Zhiyao was so sleepy that he dozed for a minute, watching Tall Boots’ base that was growing closer and closer on the screen, he asked, “I can’t hang on anymore, can we end it all at once?”
Heng: “Doubt we can, the opponents are about to respawn again.”
Nuo: “Quickly end everything fast, if things really cannot work out they can end us quickly too. Look at our Captain, his face is already as black as the bottom of a pot, I’ll see if you guys are scared.”
Ji Zhiyao: “So Captain, you urgently need to pee again?”
Mo Huaifeng: “No, my hand hurts.”
Ji Zhiyao made a “gee” sound; his hand hurting was more serious than needing to pee. He shifted his attention to glance at Mo Huaifeng’s wrist, realizing that it was already slightly red and promptly cried out, “Comrades charge! Our Captain is about to about to collapse!”
The others stayed mum.
Ji Zhiyao: “Nuo quickly go bait the enemies at the front. Don’t worry, the organization will remember your sacrifice forever!”
Nuo: “Screw you!”
The few of them destroyed Tall Boots’ base in jokes and laughter. Meanwhile Xiaoye who was the closest to respawning had three seconds left in his countdown. They rushed to fountain without stopping and realized that a new wave of super minions that specialized in tanking damage had spawned.
K: “Damn it, they’re about to respawn, can we do it?”
Mo Huaifeng: “Not sure, try for now.”
The took down several super minions, with some other left, Xiaoye and the moment he rushed forward, it was a thrashing from him. Mo Huaifeng glanced at the respawn duration of the opponents, Lan Guang and the ADC were three and five seconds away respectively and promptly decided, “We won’t be able to fight, retreat.”
Hence the few of them began to move back.
Yet Xiaoye figured out their intent, hunting after them to block their way. Before they made it out of Tall Boots’ base, all of Mix had already been surrounded by the respawned Lan Guang and ADC.
Lan Guang ran to end and pushed Ji Zhiyao and Mo Huaifeng into under the crystal.
Such an unexpected annoying strategy, together with Xiaoye’s assisting strikes from behind and their crusty champions, the two were killed very quickly.
Amongst the remaining three people, Heng was a carry position, yet he did not play his role well and was easily finished off after being marked by Lan Guang. K and Nuo shivered in fear and did not manage to escape death.
Mix was entirely wiped out, Tall Boots’ entire team respawned and rushed into Mix’s base.
In the last second before Ji Zhiyao and Mo Huaifeng spawned, Mix’s crystal collapsed with a bang.
