Chapter 1: Prologue

It's a cold night, in a new city, a new state. The sky seems to flash red before a spaceship crashes. A creature crawls out of it's hood. It glances around.

"Father . . . ?" The creature whispers, "Where are you?" 

It glances around and sees a spaceship not to far away. A sewer opening is near.

"Who's there?!" A person yells to the creature. 

The creature has no choice. It darts from its spaceship and into the sewer. 

"What was that?! Who's there?!" The person's voice melts away. 

The creature searches the sewer, "Father? Are you down here?" 

The creature reaches an area where water is coming down. 

A little girl runs past, "Hello?" The creature calls out. 

The girl stops and turns to look at the sewer, "M-my father says not to talk to creatures in the sewers."

"Why would he say that?"

"B-because that's where monsters live."

A sudden urge filled the creature, "Oh? Why don't you come here."

"Will you hurt me?"

"Hurt you? Never. I just want to give you a balloon."

"A balloon? I like balloons."

"Yes, of course."

"What color balloon do you have?"

The creature waved its hand and a string of a balloon came.

"Hello?"

"What's your name?" The creature asks.

"My name is Gina."

"Oh, Gina? My name is Penny."

"Penny is a pretty name."

"Yes. Now what did you ask?"

"I asked what color balloon do you have."

"Oh, yes. It's . . . " The creature glanced at the balloon, "Red."

"I like the color red."

"So do I."

The creature reaches out of the hole towards Gina. 

"Here." The creature held the balloon. 

Gina reached down and took the balloon, "Thank-"

The creature grabbed Gina and bit off a finger. 

"Red is the color of blood." 

Gina screamed. Blood pooled from the little girl's hand.

"Guess your father was right!" The creature laughed like a maniac, "Stay away from the monsters Gina!"

Gina held her hand and ran away. She had already let go of the balloon and it floated up towards the moon.

The creature shook it's head then licked it's teeth. 

"Did I just . . . " It glanced around then looked at the blood in the sewer water, "What happened?" It muttered, "Who cares?" It began walking around the sewer again,

"Father? Father?"
