The sender of the message was the store manager.

An Yan remembered that the original owner had been working in a pharmacy shop since the summer vacation. So this must be the store manager for that shop.

He searched the original owner's memory again. The original owner got this job at that time because he wanted to become completely independent and no longer rely on An Mu.

The current An Yan certainly no longer had such thoughts. Although the time he had been in contact with An Mu was still very short, he had begun to feel that it was quite a good thing to have a family.

However, he still had to take whatever salary he could. The An family was already struggling to make ends meet, and he was about to enter college. Having a salary would at least ease the pressure on his mother a little.

In addition, he had to find a way to earn more money. He was not the same An Yan as before and could not take his mother's care and contribution for granted.

Having made up his mind, An Yan then replied with a message: [Sorry sir, I was not feeling well these days and I didn't get time to ask you for leave. I'll come to the store tomorrow].

After replying to the message, An Yan looked up information on the virtual internet but found it difficult to find a suitable way to earn money, so he could only give up for now.

In the afternoon, An Yan took the initiative to mention to An Mu about being discharged from the hospital, "I have no more problems now. I want to be discharged today."

He was very clear about his physical condition. Aside from being a little too thin, there was no other problem.

Besides, hospitalisation costs money. One more day in the hospital meant one more day of cost.

However, An Mu disagreed: "You've just woken up today. You should be hospitalised for a few more days to observe the situation."

"I'm really fine, mother. Ask the doctor if you don't believe me." An Yan turned his head to look at the doctor, and An Mu followed suit.

The doctor pushed the spectacles on the bridge of his nose and said solemnly, "According to the results of the previous physical examination, there's really nothing wrong with your body, but your......"

An Yan's eyebrows jumped and he immediately turned to shake An Mu’s hand without waiting for the other party to finish his sentence: "Mom, you also heard it, my body really has no more problems. Let's go home early, okay?"

The original owner had not been playful with his mother for many years, and when she saw her son shaking her arm softly, she could no longer hold back. She immediately softened her tone: "Then let's leave the hospital. But if you must tell me when you’re not feeling well, okay?"

An Yan immediately nodded his head repeatedly and urged An Mu to complete the discharge procedures before the mother and son left the hospital.

It was a mystery as to what An Yan and An Luo talked about after they left the ward in the morning, but An Yan hadn’t seen An Luo since.

After returning home, An Yan first familiarised himself with his new living environment and then secretly opened the home surveillance system.

In this world, almost every home would have a surveillance system with security features to protect the safety of the family.

The An family was no exception, except that after An Luo arrived at the An family, he deliberately found an excuse to have An Mu turn off the surveillance system.

The An family's surveillance system had been off ever since then.

An Yan had enough reasons to suspect that An Luo did this to avoid having any traces of evidence on him.

Since he was now going to deal with An Luo, he would have to try to find evidence.

Although he could easily do this with his spiritual power, he was now in the human world and he would not dare expose his spiritual power so easily.

After this was done, An Yan stayed in his room and continued to study the information of this world.

The next morning, An Yan drank his nutrients and was about to leave the house when his mother called him back.

An Yan took the initiative to ask, "Does mom have something to say to me?"

An Mu hesitated for a moment, but could not help but ask, "Where are you going?"

It was only then that it dawned on An Yan as to why An Mu was so hesitant.

It wasn't that An Mu had never asked the original owner such a question before.  Only that the original owner would retort that An Mu didn't care about him at all, so she didn't need to know where he was going.

So An Mu didn’t even know about the original owner's part-time job.

An Yan couldn't help but sigh in his heart and soften his tone as he replied, "I found a temporary job in a pharmacy store earlier. I haven't been there for several days, so I wanted to go there early today to check it out."

An Mu’s eyes reddened from the words, "So you've been leaving early and returning late every day because of work?"

She thought that her son ran out all day long because he was doing something bad and even chided him for it. She now scolded herself.

An Yan pursed his lips and smiled, "I wanted to share a little bit of my mother's burden."

An Mu felt remorse and relief. She wanted to ask her son not to have to work so hard, but was afraid that this would make him unhappy. She was torn, and An Yan came over to her and hugged her, saying, "I'm going out then, mum."

Then he trotted out.

An Mu pressed the corners of her eyes in relief as she looked at her son’s energetic back and turned her head to pack her things and go to work.

An Yan’s hug was really a subconscious move after seeing her eyes redden, and even he himself was a little shocked.

So, he immediately ran away after the hug.

He found the pharmacy shop after following the original owner’s memories. As soon as An Yan entered, he saw the store manager standing behind the counter.

He was just about to open his mouth to greet him, just like the original owner, when he met the other party's surprised gaze, "You actually took a body potion?"

An Yan froze for a moment before it dawned on him that he had overlooked a very crucial issue!

The original owner had two pairs of ears, one pair being the normal human ears and the other pair being the furry hamster ears on top of his head.

The hamster ears on top of his head disappeared temporarily either because of the discarded potion or because of An Yan's appearance.

After coming here, he had to familiarize himself with the new world, his new memories, and face all sorts of things. The matter of the ears was completely ignored.

Fortunately, there was a body potion as a cover. So An Yan didn't panic after it dawned on him. He only gave a vague response and then went straight to the point: "Store manager, I won’t be coming over to help out because of recent family matters, so please help me settle my salary."

"Alright.  You didn’t come over in the past few days, so it seems you really don't want to work here anymore," the store manager nodded a bit unhappily and muttered, "However, if you want to buy body potions, why don't you come to our shop to buy them? "

An Yan just listened and didn't say a word.

"You didn't come to work for three whole days before, and you didn't ask for leave. That's a deduction from your salary." The store manager counted the wages while saying.

It was indeed wrong to be absent from work without a word, so An Yan could only continue to remain silent.

In fact, if the summer vacation were not about to end, An Yan would have been willing to continue doing this job.

Although it was a purely manual job with low pay, at least the skills required were not too high, and with his spiritual power, the manual work should be no problem.

The store manager quickly calculated the salary: "50 star coins a day. You've worked for 47 days. That's a total of 2350 star coins. Since you haven't come for the past three days, 100 star coins will be deducted each day as per the rules. So, it's 2050 star coins, correct? "

An Yan stretched his hand to calculate and nodded, "That's right."

The shopkeeper beckoned, "Bring your light-brain over here. I'll transfer your salary to you."

An Yan was about to dutifully bring his light brain over, but the store manager’s light brain rang at that moment. He looked at it and said, "Wait a minute, I have to take this call."

An Yan silently retracted his hand and calculated what two thousand star coins could do.

The most ordinary nutrients could cost ten star coins a packet. That was two hundred packets of nutrients, which was almost enough for a person to eat for two months.

An Yan was still figuring it out when the shop manager returned. Only his face looked unpleasant and he grumbled to himself: "He really doesn’t know how to ask for leave in advance. Where am I going to find another potion inspector at this time of the day?"

Then he looked up and saw An Yan standing there obediently.

Although he didn’t think that this young man was well-behaved before, he did look quite obedient, and since he hadn't made any mistakes at work before, the shop manager couldn't help but feel moved: "I say, An Yan, do you have any other business today?"

An Yan shook his head blankly, "No, is there something wrong with that?"

The store manager rubbed his hands together and put a smile on his face, looking much kinder than before. "It's like this, the drug inspector hired by the shop suddenly had something to do and couldn't come today. So, I'd like to ask you to help out and cover him for a day. What do you think? "

"But I don't have a certificate." An Yan had seen the position of drug inspector when searching for work information before. According to the evaluation on the virtual website, the job content was very leisurely and the salary was also okay, but only those who had obtained the drug inspector certificate could be qualified.

The store manager said smilingly: "It's just a day's shift, it doesn't matter if you have a certificate or not. I'll show you how to do it. It's very simple. Of course, if you are willing to help me with this, you will definitely be paid. How about 300 star coins a day? "

Three hundred star coins! That’s thirty packs of ordinary nutrients. An Yan was immediately swayed and nodded dizzily, "I'll try my best to do a good job."

As if he was afraid that An Yan would back out, the store manager directly docked his optical brain and punched 2350 star coins over, then took An Yan to the testing room.

Drug testing was indeed a very simple job. The tester only needed to put the drugs that needed to be tested into different testing instruments according to the requirements, and then wait for the results to come out and record the data.
