Chapter 41

After lunch, Cheng Yi sent the two back to the dormitory, and he quickly went back to his flat.

Today was the eleventh day since he had taken the high quality potion. In other words, the part of his body that exhibited animal characteristics had returned.

Although it had temporarily gone for only ten days, Cheng Yi still found it hard to adapt back to his previous state.

But even so, Cheng Yi had been waiting for this day to come.

Only when the effects of the previous potion had completely worn off could he take the next potion.

Cheng Yi, on the other hand, was going to a potion he had asked a friend to buy from Zhao Xinxin rather than one of An Yan's high-quality potions.

This was not because Cheng Yi was more interested in Zhao Xinxin’s body potions, he just wanted to take this opportunity to find out whether the potion that worked on him was related to Zhao Xinxin as the pharmacist.

Cheng Yi had taken many body potions before in order to remove the animal features from his body, including some of the most expensive ones. However, they all failed to produce any positive effects, and most had various negative effects.

It was only when he drank the previous high quality potion that his indefinite disappointment and torture were finally interrupted.

Under such circumstances, Cheng Yi had to ponder the question. Was the potion the reason why it worked, or was it related to Zhao Xinxin, the pharmacist?

In order to find out the answer to this question, Cheng Yi asked someone to buy a body potion made by Zhao Xinxin.

It was an ordinary F-grade potion with a three-hour effectiveness and general fatigue for three minutes as a side effect.

Cheng Yi had already tested this bottle and the results were basically the same as what was written.

Cheng Yi immediately took the bottle out after returning to the flat. He shook it in his hand before opening the lid and drinking it down.

The effects of the potion soon became apparent.

Cheng Yi felt his body weaken and he could not stand up.

This reaction was all too familiar to Cheng Yi, which meant that the potion did not have any positive effects on his body and jumped straight to the side effects.

He should have been disappointed, but at that moment, Cheng Yi felt relieved.

That reaction at least indicated that the effects of the potion had nothing to do with Zhao Xinxin’s spiritual power.

Cheng Yi quietly lay on the bed for five minutes until the feeling of weakness in his body completely disappeared. He then slowly sat up and took out a body bottle potion from a delicate box.

Cheng Yi took the potion in his hand and looked at it for a while. A very shallow arc slowly appeared at the corner of his mouth. This is the potion made by the little one.

He was tempted to drink this potion immediately, but to be cautious, he had to wait for three hours. That was the duration of the last potion.

Although he knew that he shouldn’t be so expectant, Cheng Yi still felt nervous.

It would be great if this potion could work. But if it couldn’t …… Cheng Yi was even a little afraid to continue thinking about it.

Cheng Yi held the bottle and lay on the bed. Three hours was not a long time, but at that moment, it seemed very long.

Many images came to Cheng Yi’s mind during the wait. The first time he met the little one, the first time the little one looked at him, the first time he spoke to him...

The time of acquaintance was so short that it did not take long to remember, but Cheng Yi could look back at every scene for a long time. He could even clearly hear the sound of his heart thumping, time after time…

Once upon a time, his heart beat only for himself.

And now, his heart was violently beating for another person.

It was only when the light brain gave the time prompt that Cheng Yi came back from his memories. He was shocked to find that three hours had passed like that.

But the more time passed, the more nervous he became. He looked at the potion in his hand that was already warmed by his body heat. Cheng Yi was afraid to drink it.

It was obvious that avoiding it would not solve the problem, so after a moment of hesitation, Cheng Yi opened the lid and drank the potion with his eyes closed.

A warm and comfortable

feeling instantly spread throughout his body with the dispersal of the potion, effectively soothing Cheng Yi’s slightly heavy mood as well.

It was comfortable and familiar. Wasn’t this a familiar feeling.…

It took a while for the appeased mind to react. Where did this sense of familiarity come from?

Cheng Yi instantly opened his eyes. A dark aura flashed under his eyes, and at the same time, he could feel the changes that had taken place in his body with unparalleled clarity.

On the other hand, An Yan was walking with Cheng Yang into the auditorium where the opening ceremony was to be held.

They were surrounded by freshmen who, like them, had just entered the First College, from different planets. They had been in contact with each other for only half a day, yet they were already chatting together enthusiastically.

An Yan enjoyed the atmosphere and was about to find a seat with Cheng Yang when he heard a slightly familiar voice coming from not far away, "Yang Yang, I have a free seat here. Come and sit with me."

There was no doubt that this voice was coming from Zhao Xinxin, who was standing there waving at Cheng Yang.

Cheng Yang turned to take a look and happily pulled An Yan towards that side. It was only when he reached nearby that he realised there was only one empty seat around Zhao Xinxin.

Zhao Xinxin looked as if she didn’t see An Yan, who was following behind Cheng Yang. With a decent smile on her face, she said, "Yang Yang, come and sit down."

Cheng Yang glanced at Zhao Xinxin and gently wrinkled his face, "Sister Xinxin, I’m with a friend."

Zhao Xinxin said, in a particularly natural manner, "Why don’t you just let him go and find another seat?”

An Yan pursed his lips slightly. Zhao Xinxin really did dislike him a lot.

And now he also dislikes this person very much.

An Yan was a very simple person. For those he liked, he was willing to show this liking straightforwardly, and the same was true for those he didn’t like.

He wanted to express his dislike directly, but he had to take Cheng Yang’s feelings into consideration. So he could only remain silent.

Cheng Yang was also very unhappy with Zhao Xinxin. He did not expect the other party to deliberately do such a thing and say such words when she saw that he had come in with his friend. It was too much.

They were in front of so many people, so Cheng Yang didn’t show this dissatisfaction in the end. He just smiled and waved his hand, "It’s alright, I’ll find another seat with him."

Normally, this little episode would have ended when he said this, but to his surprise, Zhao Xinxin called out to him and said, in a very unhappy tone, "Yang Yang, this is the seat I reserved specifically for you. Do you really want to just walk away?"

She was really angry. What was so good about An Yan? Why do Cheng Yi and Cheng Yang favor him so much?

She had given Cheng Yang a high quality potion; who was he to treat her like this!

Cheng Yang didn’t expect Zhao Xinxin to go so far, and he couldn’t keep the smile on his face any longer. He took a stand and said, "You can sit by yourself. I want to sit with Yan Yan!"

After saying that, Cheng Yang then turned around to find another seat.

Zhao Xinxin looked at Cheng Yang’s retreating back and stomped her feet in anger, her face turning red with rage.

An Yan had not said a word during this whole process, but Zhao Xinxin put the blame on him again.

When the two found a seat, Cheng Yang immediately apologised to An Yan, "I’m sorry, Yan Yan. I didn’t expect Zhao Xin Xin to be so excessive."

An Yan was indeed not too happy before, but he was now in a much better mood, "It’s alright. It’s just that, is it really alright for you to do that?"

Although he didn’t know the reason, An Yan could see that Cheng Yang was being accommodating to Zhao Xinxin.

Cheng Yang smiled and shook his head, "Of course it’s okay. It was her fault for acting like that in the first place."

An Yan was relieved.

The previous hiccup did not affect their mood much, and the opening ceremony went smoothly afterwards. After the ceremony was over, they slowly walked out with the crowd, and there was a lot of discussion around them.

"The senior who just spoke on stage is so handsome, and he’s in the same major as me!"

"Even if he’s handsome, he’s not as handsome as senior Cheng Yi! Why didn’t senior Cheng attend the opening ceremony? "

“Yeah, it’s a shame! I thought senior Cheng Yi would be the student representative. What a pity!"

"Ah! Look, is that senior Cheng Yi standing over there?"

“It’s true! It’s really senior Cheng Yi. My God, is he looking our way? I’m so nervous! "

“He must be looking at me! He’s even smiling at me! I can’t breathe! "

It was only halfway through that An Yan reacted and hurriedly looked up, quickly meeting a pair of gentle, smiling eyes.

Cheng Yi had always smiled at him, but An Yan felt that the way Cheng Yi was looking at him this time was a bit off, even making him feel like he was prey.

Before he could think more about it, Cheng Yang had already pulled him towards Cheng Yi and jogged over to him, "Big brother, are you here to pick us up?"

There was another burst of chatter around.

"So Senior Cheng Yi wasn’t looking at me. What a waste of joy!"
"So that guy is Senior Cheng Yi’s brother? He seems to be in the same major as me."

"Ah, when can Senior Cheng Yi look at me with such a gentle gaze!"

"I’d be happy to be Senior Cheng’s younger brother."

"No, more than a brother, I want to be Senior Cheng Yi’s lover hehehe."

"You need to stop dreaming!"

Most of the people around thought Cheng Yi was just looking at his brother, but in fact, he wasn’t.

Cheng Yi was looking at was An Yan who was standing next to Cheng Yang.

Even if his surroundings were packed with people, Cheng Yi was able to find the little one who held his heart and gaze at first glance.

Unfortunately for his brother next to An Yan, there were too many people to see him.

Cheng Yang, who had jogged over, was about to say hello to his big brother when he was mercilessly pushed aside by a large hand.

"Yan Yan must be tired after sitting for so long, right?" Cheng Yi smiled and looked at An Yan tenderly and intently.

An Yan was a little uncomfortable under Cheng Yi’s gaze, and he said, with a wandering gaze, "I’m fine."

"Big brother.…" Cheng Yang had just come back and opened his mouth before it was covered and he was pushed to the side again.

Cheng Yi’s focused gaze continued to stare at An Yan: "Since you’re hungry, let me take you outside the academy for a meal. There’s a restaurant around here that tastes great."

An Yan: ???? When did I say I was hungry?
