Chapter 45:

An Yan’s greatest wish had been to become a demon type, but he now felt that there was nothing wrong with being a fat hamster.

He had been worried that he would not be able to return to his hamster state after becoming human. This worry had been pinned down in his heart and was hard to dispel.

But although the thought had crossed his mind, he would need to think long and hard about turning it into reality.

An Yan took a deep breath and rolled around on the bed several times before he slowly calmed down his emotions.

Even though his mood had calmed down, the matter was on his mind and he couldn’t help but look forward to it when he was free.

A few more days passed, and the weekend arrived.

Because the transportation was very advanced, one could reach their destination quickly no matter how far away it was. So most students chose to go home even though the weekend was only two days long to spend it with their families.

Cheng Yang was no exception. After his last class on Friday, he went home with Cheng Yi.

An Yan chose to stay at the college dormitory.

He planned to use this opportunity to put his idea into practise and had been looking forward to it for nearly a week. Although he won’t have immediate success, he wanted to at least take the first step.

An Yan chose to experiment in the dormitory instead of at home because he was worried that if something really happened to him during the experiment, it would scare his mother.

After all, it would be unacceptable to see one’s son turn into a hamster.

In order to complete this project, An Yan prepared a large pile of hamster food and sufficient ingredients for the potion. The next stage was the official experiment.

In order to better prepare himself for the rest of the experiment, An Yan first enjoyed soy the food he had bought. After eating to his heart’s content, he clapped his hands and started making the body potion.

He did not rush to blend the potion ingredients this time, but first put several favourite foods together and ground them thoroughly.

After completing this step, he put several potion ingredients into it for a second grind.

When the substances in the mortar were fully blended, An Yan immediately mobilized his spiritual power and began the next step.

An Yan’s spiritual energy seemed to be a little more active than before because he had just eaten his favourite foods and the fusion was faster than he had expected.

Within a short while, the substance in the mortar had fully reacted and fused with his spiritual power. An Yan then poured in the coagulant and carefully filtered it.  A body potion was successfully born.

However, although the process went very smoothly, An Yan was not sure whether the potion would have the desired effect.

With a hint of nervousness and anticipation, An Yan put the potion into the testing instrument that he had bought specifically for the smooth implementation of the plan.

He bought the same model as the one he had seen at Cheng’s house. It was considered the most accurate of all the testing instruments.

The test took less than a minute, but it seemed extraordinarily long to An Yan. When the instrument made a "ding", An Yan immediately reached out and took out the test results.

Meanwhile, Cheng Yi and Cheng Yang had already returned home.

To celebrate the return of the two young masters, Steward Liu asked the kitchen to prepare an extraordinarily sumptuous dinner. Father Cheng, who was usually busy, also took time off to share the meal with his family.

Of course, there was another reason for this.

Cheng Yi had contacted him, saying that he had something important to tell him this evening and hoped he could come back early.

Before the family could move their chopsticks after sitting at the dinner table, Father Cheng asked, "Cheng Yi, what was the important thing you said earlier?"

Cheng Lin could not help but give her husband a glare; "We haven’t even started eating yet. What can’t we talk about after we’ve eaten?"

Cheng Yi spoke, "There’s something I haven’t told you guys. I’ve already drunk the potion Zhao Xinxin gave to Yang Yang earlier, and it was effective. "

"What?!" Cheng Lin was shocked and asked excitedly, "That potion really worked?"

Cheng Yi nodded affirmatively, "Yes, and the effect of the potion was consistent with the test results."

"That’s great! That’s great! " Cheng Lin was so excited that her eyes were red.

Cheng Yi’s situation had always been a huge stone weighing down on her heart, and although this stone had not yet been completely removed, there was at least hope that it would be.

Although Father Cheng did not look as excited as Cheng Lin, his expression was also lifted: "In that case, we really should thank the Zhao family."

It was one thing to give a high quality potion as a gift, but it was another to have the bottle work.

Only Cheng Yang remained calm. Cheng Yi had already told him about the potion, but according to his elder brother, it might not have been made by Zhao Xinxin, right?

Sure enough, he heard Cheng Yi say, "I am indeed grateful to the pharmacist who made that potion, but it has little to do with the Zhao family."

Father Cheng frowned and said, "What do you mean by that? Wasn’t the potion made by Zhao Xinxin herself?"

"I have already investigated clearly. Zhao Chengxuan bought that potion from his employee at a heavy price. "

In order to not cause unnecessary trouble, Cheng Yi slightly blurred the facts, "Although we have not yet found out who made this potion, it is certain that Zhao Xixin did not make it."

Cheng Lin recovered from her excitement and wondered, "How is that …… possible? That kind of thing can easily be discovered after an investigation. How dare the Zhao family deliberately lie about this kind of thing? Could it be that you are mistaken? "

"Mother is right, this kind of thing can be found out as long as you want to investigate it, but what if we never had to investigate it from the beginning?" Cheng Yi calmly asked back. If it wasn’t for the little one, he wouldn’t have had any suspicions, let alone investigate the matter in depth.

Cheng Lin was silent. If it weren’t for Ah Yi's mentioning this matter, she wouldn’t have had such suspicions at all.

However, this made Cheng Lin curious: "Then what made you get suspicious about it?"

"I just found out by accident," Cheng Yi replied vaguely, and then skipped the question, "So the situation is that although this potion has worked, it doesn’t have much to do with the Zhao family. Father, Mother, the matter is now up to you. "

Father Cheng pondered and said, "I see. Let’s eat first. "

Although what the Zhao family had done was deceptive, the Cheng family would not publicise the matter or have a complete standoff with the Zhao family. They would at least slowly distance themselves from the Zhao family.

In addition, Cheng Lin’s plan to give the children of the two families more opportunities to spend time together was also put to rest.

Although the incident did take the Cheng parents by surprise, it did not affect the family’s mood for dinner. Cheng Lin even ate half a bowl of rice more than before because she was told that the potion had worked.

After the meal, Cheng Lin dragged her two sons into an animated conversation.

Cheng Yi was not averse to communicating with his mother, but he kept thinking of An Yan and wanted to go and see the little one. So after saying a few words, he stood up and said, "I’m going for a walk."

Cheng Yang knew what his big brother was planning to do and was just about to follow him when his mother pulled his hand and said, "Yang Yang, you’ve just entered college, so there must be a lot of things you’ve not yet adapted to, right?Quickly talk with mother."

Cheng Yang had to sit back, honestly.

Cheng Yi went out and first went to the orchard to pick a box of fruits. He also prepared some gifts before going to the An family. To his surprise, it was only An Mu at home.

"Didn’t Yan Yan come back?" He remembered that An Yan said he would come home later, but it couldn’t be that much later, right?

At that time, he wanted to take An Yan back with him. After all, the two families now lived very close to each other. It was more convenient to come back together, but An Yan stammered out a rejection.

Looking back now, An Yan’s attitude was a bit strange at that time.

"Yes, Yan Yan said he had something to do at school, so he might not come back this weekend." An Mu also looked a little worried. "Do you want to come in and sit down for a while?"

Cheng Yi shook his head, "No, thank you auntie. This is a gift I brought you. I’ll go back first. You should rest early. "

After bidding farewell to An Mu, Cheng Yi stood in front of the house for a while, and then video called An Yan.

The communication was quickly connected. An Yan was lying on his bed in his pajamas. His hair looked a bit messy, but it made him look even more innocent and cute.

A quick glance at his background showed that he was in the college dormitory.

Cheng Yi breathed a sigh of relief and asked, "Hasn’t Yan Yan gone home yet?"

An Yan looked evasive as he answered, "I suddenly remembered something I hadn’t dealt with, so I didn’t have a chance to go home yet."

"So is it taken care of now?" Cheng Yi asked again.

"Well, almost." An An Yan replied hazily.

Cheng Yi nodded and didn’t ask anything more, "Then, rest early."

"You too, senior." An Yan smiled and nodded.

An Yan’s face was immediately apprehensive after hanging up the video call. His eyes fell on the potion on the bedside table, and he let out a long sigh.

He couldn’t help but sigh again when he thought about the results of the potion test.

Potion grade: Discarded potion.

Effect: No effect whatsoever.

Side effects: very great.

In fact, An Yan expected this result. After all, the direction he took when making the potion was the opposite of the norm. It was only normal that the results of this potion would be the opposite of normal as well.

But the problem is that the test results are basically the same as having no test at all.

The first two figures were expected, but the last one, " side effects are very great," was a pain in the neck.

Since the side effects are great, then tell me exactly what those great side effects are!
