What happened to a Human living in isolation from mankind? Would they live independently?

The answer wasn't simple.

While it was more likely for a child left in the wilderness to die of starvation… some adapted.

Becoming the real life 'Tarzan' equivalents.

They'd learnt different methods of survival than the norm. Becoming more animal than they were man.

Primitive…

The same could be said for a Demon isolated from the culture of Demonkind. Only a little different.

After all, Demons were inherently different from humanity. They did not have a 'childhood phase'.

It was because they were already strong and smart from the moment of birth. Knowing… Experiencing.

They had no child-like 'innocence'. Similar to how Aphrodite was born as a woman from the start.

Adults had a considerably harder time learning new things compared to impressions young children.

They were usually destined to stay the same.

But Adam broke that cycle.

He couldn't have known that in 'demon culture', a Curse was necessary for Demons to grow older.

Mature as sinful entities.

The reason they were drawn to humanity in particular being due to how ripe their hearts were.

Other higher class species such as Elves and Dwarfs had stronger Internal Energy, and thus stronger 'Curses'… but it was only humanity that held a varied emotional capacity and resentment.

No single human was the same as the other. Not even if they were born from the same womb.

The imperfect society humanity created allowed for a vast stagnant ocean of trauma and depravity.

Evil intrinsically linked to society.

They tried to uphold laws, but would end up doing tiny sins anyway. Accumulating into a wicked norm.

But that wasn't to say Demons were perfect either.

In fact, out of all the 'Mystic Races', they were the most self-destructive. Truly uncaring for life itself.

The birth rate and death rate of Demons in their society was only so high due to their innate nature.

An aspect they couldn't resist.

Similar to how humanity learnt using mimicry without being told, Demons learnt from depravity.

After all, their genome wasn't only physical.

The genetic coding of Demons were intrinsically linked to emotions. Especially their primal ones.

For a rare Incubus King, they would usually spend the most time being protected by their society.

Instead of going to battle angelic beings, they would be constantly exploring pleasures and lust.

Learning true 'Demon Magic' and incantations needed countless hours of practice and education.

It might have seemed like they were simply having orgies for a while, but that at least had purpose.

Similar to how humans can only become adults after experiencing life, Demons also needed sins.

Or else… how could they 'evolve' themselves?

In his cocoon state, Adam was experiencing something most demons dreamed of doing.

Especially other Incubus Kings just like himself.

It was well-known that the more a Curse strayed from a Demons 'type', the more chaotic it was.

There should've been a hundred percent certainty that Adam wouldn't be able to digest the Curses.

Hot Grudge had more affinity to Asuras.

Cold Apathy more attuned to Archdemons. It was to the point this would've been avoided initially.

This was even more true for traumas like Sensitive Fear… and unknown evils like Meta Dramatiser.

Coincidentally, a mix of his Insightful Savant and Blood Nurturer allowed him to create a new path.

Inflaming Magma burnt his cells, but the new traits of an Asura strengthened his originally 'weak' body.

The number of arms from his shoulders tripled.

Going from two to six.

Cold Apathy worked a bit differently due to it being a higher grade Curse that every Demon had an affinity to, but weren't strong enough to devour until reaching maturity. It heavily affected him.

Unlike the evil flames, the coldness of shadows shrouded his body and entangled his mind.

It was thanks to the Python DNA being used as a medium did Adam manage to survive its onslaught.

The Python of mythology of mythology was different from that of reality. Even in most fiction.

Since it was a snake, there were a lot of rumours that pythons were poisonous in ancient times.

The only problem was that it actually wasn't.

Pythons were constrictor snakes that strangled prey. This was before swallowing them whole.

And the mythological equivalent, the snake killed by Apollo, lived in Delphi in the centre of the Earth.

A giant snake or dragon that protected Delphi.

Such an unfamiliar transformation should've mutated Adam beyond recognition, but there was a caveat: Meta Dramatiser, known as Deja Vu, was able to improve his mind's rate of adaptability.

Even without complete knowledge, he intuitively felt familiar with every alteration after changing.

It didn't seem like much, but this was enough to boost his efficiency and evolve beyond normality.

His penis tail altered, and he gained control over the ice that was both affected and resisted by him.

The last one to make a big chance within his evolved body, Sensitive Fear, was also not obvious.

But it seemed to have lessened the mutations that changed him in ways that sacrificed his looks.

Allowing him to keep a humanoid appearance.

Unfortunately, all these changes took a great amount of time… To the point Clarissa waited.

After her sister escaped from the Awakening Ceremony, she found Adam had been knocked out.

His body started to alter slowly after being cursed.

To the point he'd almost lost his life…

It was too bad what happened to her. She'd put too much faith that he would've woken up in time.

Such trust was him mistake.

But this was only something they'd realise later.

For now, Adam was continuing his slumber in the blood cocoon. About to awaken into a new demon.

One that had never existed before now…

A familiar man pushed up his glasses while watching as a withered corpse had blown apart.

This blast revealed a figure standing within.

Rather than a 'person', what the four eyes saw was an entity that seemed to be born for combat.

A thick tail spat poison into the air into a mist, and the flames burning beneath the skin peeked out.

Turning into flames between the gaps in the skin.

The creature was holding a standard blade. A real toxic-looking sword that was dripping with poison,

But this wasn't all.

Adam seemed to have unknowingly gained some wolf-like traits. Such as animal ears atop his head.

Cyan coloured fur covered the ears apart from his black hair, and his features became animalistic.

Much more ferocious in appearance.

He finally made eye-contact with the individual that had awaited him outside for a long time before.

A familiar face he recognised.

It was that glasses guy that brought his synced Imaginary Spirits to Odin in the first place.

This fact fuelling his rage.

"…If you're here to fight, then come at me!" Adam tilted his blade and got his body into a stance.

Ready to once again fight for his life…!

But what happened next caused him to falter.

Adam's eyes locked with his opponent's, and he found that the latter was without any killing intent.

Seeming happy for his survival.

The man raised his hand to stop any further confrontation, then spoke to him without faltering:

"I'm glad you're fine." (???)

"…What?" Adam couldn't quite understand what he was seeing, but that joy suddenly turned cruel.

"Ahem… I mean: What a surprise this is! I see you have become worthy of becoming my lab rat! Be honoured. For I, Frankenstein, am used to dealing with monsters." The man's golden eyes glared.

Putting on a showy performance.

But his appearance brought forth an incongruity.

Adam, despite finding his senses sharpening, had found that he wasn't as irrational as he'd believed.

Even though there was a chaotic maelstrom of emotions dictating his actions, his eyes were sharp enough to notice the inconsistency in the man's appearance. Mainly, the existence of his weapon.

Frankenstein had threateningly lifted a firearm from his pocket. One that was lined with electric sparks.

Easily showing what kind of weapon it was.

It was a dangerous situation, but that was exactly what had been grinding on his nerves recently.

Since when did 'Frankenstein' use a gun?

Moreover, why did it seem like this man wasn't truly the genius 'Victor Frankenstein', nor Frankenstein's Monster? It seemed more plausible that this man was a mishmash of the references to that story.

'Story…' This thought sent his mind into a spiral when he thought about what exactly that meant.

If everyone on Earth lived out their 'Life Story', then didn't that mean there was a version of them here?

Is this why myths and stories were melding?

Adam snapped himself out of his senses when he realised the 'Doctor' was about to pull the trigger.

Despite being filled with grudges, Adam was rational enough to know fighting had no meaning.

A battle here was pointless.

The scheming look of someone used to looking at the bigger picture appeared in the Demon's eyes.

"Can we not fight?" Adam looked at the opponent.

Saying something that was unexpected.

"…Why would you want that?" (Frankenstein)

"I know I can't beat you even at my best." Adam didn't need anyone to tell him what was foolish.

"So you're going to give up fighting?" The doctor didn't say this as an insult… but it felt like one.

"I'd rather make less enemies. It seemed like the group you were in wasn't unified." (Adam)

"You're… a lot smarter now." (Frankenstein)

Adam made a strange look again when the opponent once again acted like an old friend.

"Yeah yeah…" Adam narrowed his eyes into slits.

"I'm serious. There aren't many who would act so boldly in my presence." Frankenstein kept his act.

"Stop the charades already." (Adam)

"What do you mean!?" The doctor started to sweat upon hearing him point it out so straightforwardly.

"You would have killed me or taken me away if that's what you wanted. Why wait until now?" It was sound logic, but wasn't quite right. At the very least, this was an improvement compared to earlier.

"…Right! You figured out my ploy. As expected…" A sigh of relief escaped the man unconsciously.

The time for violent action wasn't now…
