I'm going to relax on the weekends since the weekdays are already packed enough as is.

Saturday and Sundays will just be extra chapters.

I'm going to use the days off for planning and doing stuff related but not actually writing.

Like commissioning someone to get cover art.

Other than that itself, imma be chillaxing at back.

Although I have fighters in this novel that can do stuff like 'copying battle experience' and stuff, I try to keep the Martial Arts similar to the IRL counterpart, at least more than some cult's would.

Trying to translate fighting methods into story has been the hardest part, since it's my personal belief that you can't have an effective Martial Art that hasn't gone through pressure testing and altering.

Even military martial arts aren't exactly the most useful in combat. It is likely due to their focus in cultivating a more 'combative mentality'… rather than a system of skills. They train to act, not fight.

Taking someone down isn't a 'fight' to a soldier, it is an 'action'. All cultivating aggression and resolve.

To jump into a firefight rather than running away.

I tend to consider whether my character would suit the martial arts designated to them at times.

How it would have impacted them to train in it.

And the pressure testing needed to perfect arts.

Which is why there hasn't been a 'strong' character yet who apparently intimidated foes to stand down.

Because that kind of backstory based off others being scared shows a lack of actual experience.

You can't become strong through theory alone…

Honestly, trying to create a Wuxia/Xianxia story with ACTUAL martial arts is harder than it looks.

It's because the nature of 'Eastern Fantasy' makes inefficient moves like Wing Chun basic punches seem unbelievably 'profound'. A word you'd see constantly repeated in stories like Martial God Asura, Against the Gods, and Peerless Martial God.

See how all of them have 'God' in the title…?

The general consensus in Eastern Fantasy is that real fighting methods (External Arts) are useless because Qi exists. Internal Martial Artists throw beams and stuff… Why would they need tactics?

[Blazing Dragon Supreme Slash!]

A main character would uncharacteristically yell before doing a move, even if chanting isn't needed.

So the question of: 'How do you add Martial Arts without giving them too much credit in the story?'

I myself am still learning…

Oh, and you guys can look forward to a commissioned cover still being in the works.

Along with three main character portraits.
