Time in the eyes of mortal men was a great force that could not be changed, but time was just an abstract concept suggested by mortals.
Before the power of greater beings, the seemingly indestructible time could be easily changed. But the greatness of time is that a wave caused by some point in time could eventually either lead to a greater miracle or a more terrible disaster.
The moment Merlin interfered with the British Wizarding World, in the unknown area of the universe, where all stories begin and at the end of where the stars shine, a mysterious wave had caused a great disturbance in this place.
"What the hell is going on?"
Overlord, who was on the gambling table, stands up abruptly, he supports his hands on the table forged with stars and looked in front of him with a hint of fury and surprise.
There, behind the gambling table, the screen that should supposedly show everything that Merlin was doing was acting like a television series that had been fast-forwarded.
Just a second ago, they saw Merlin arrive at the base in Paris, but then, the scene leaps toward the time when Harry and Hermione were standing atop the valley of the destroyed Malfoy Manor.
It was like a pair of invisible hands had mysteriously intercepted a part of Merlin's time.
But this was theoretically impossible!
The ones worthy of entering this place were powerful beings, experts ranging from the weakest Universal level to several Multiversal beings like Overlord Cyber himself.
To cover the vision of so many experts at once, unless someone of the same level as them had made a move, was impossible to do!
"A force has shaded our vision!"
On the other side of the gambling table, Tyrion the Death with his eyepatch stared at Overlord with his right eye, he says with a cold tone and expression:
"Time has been sped up...did you do it?"
"Me? Why would I do so?"
Facing Death's question, Overlord retorts with a frown:
"Even if I were to cheat, I would not be using such a cheap method."
"Who else here can change time?"
Death asks again.
Overlord then sets his sights on the people on the sidelines, the shadowy experts seemed to be discussing this too, as a lowered whisper would resound from the sideline now and then.
"No! Not someone of here."
Grandmaster, who acted as the referee speaks:
"The pocket dimension is in my workshop, I can sense everything that occurs here. This is the authority given to me by the power of the Elders of the Universe, so unless the Living Tribunal had interfered, no one can hide from me."
The elderly hippie with a strange haircut says to Overlord and Death with a serious expression:
"Power from the outside!"
"Hell!"
Overlord curses, he says with a gloomy expression:
"Who revealed the news? And who's interfering with us?"
"Check with your stones!"
Grandmaster says to Overlord:
"You set the timeline of the pocket universe, turn back time to see what had happened?"
"A moment!"
Overlord lightly moves his fingers, the six stones of different colors on his hand quickly fly off his wristband and levitate behind him; the green-colored stone representing time begins to flicker, and as the experts watched, the stars at the end of the universe begin to fuzz up, like an invisible hand was tearing with it.
But as the timeline was actually touched, the bone-white dice at the center of the gambling table suddenly jumps up without anyone manipulating it.
The Dice of Fate spins in the air like an invisible hand was holding it, and eventually smashes onto the gambling table like a heavy object.
"Swish"
The backtracking of the timeline destroyed by the Time Stone is forcibly halted by the vibration caused by the impact of the Dice of Fate.
"What is it?"
Death asks.
"It's stopping me."
Overlord lowers his head and looks at the shining Dice of Fate, saying:
"It's forbidding me from interfering with the even that it had chosen...uhh, I mean, it forbids me from breaking its rules. Fate is formless, but what had happened cannot be changed, only the destined past can form the disordered future."
"It can affect you?"
A suspicious glow flashes in the right eye of Death Tyrion, he says:
"I'm more and more suspicious that you are behind this, like the last time you cheated. Playing the thief shouting to catch the thief trick."
"Of course, it cannot affect me."
Overlord Cyber keeps the six Infinity Stones helplessly, he spreads his hands and explains to Death:
"But if I forcibly turn back time, my power would clash with the dice's power, and that would certainly destroy this rare and conscious dice, thus we will not be able to continue our gamble."
"..."
The two people who were powerful enough to wipe out the universe with one finger were speechless.
They had fallen into a stalemate.
"I think that we should place our attention on something else!"
Grandmaster then speaks:
"Regardless of who that mysterious interferer is, regardless of how he did it. He changed time and hid what Merlin did during that time, there must've been a goal to this."
His words pulled the attention of the two experts from their stalemate.
"Merlin's timeline is based on your world!"
Death Tyrion reaches out and rubs his forehead, he contemplates briefly before saying softly:
"Then what do you know about this wizarding war? Maybe we can infer what Merlin had done during this time."
"Indeed, Merlin entered the world copied from mine."
Overlord sighs, he glances at the Dice of Fate, whose glow was dissipating, shakes his head, and says helplessly:
"But everything he encounters is randomly chosen by the Dice of Fate..."
"A pity, but I do not know of the story on the wizarding world, just as I didn't know about the story of Carol Danvers; it never happened in my world, thus I know nothing about it."
"......"
The two experts continued in awkward silence.
Overlord Cyber turns around and looks at the Recorder, who was recording something in his flipped open book with a quill pen, and asks softly:
"Oneiros, you who represent the memories of unlimited beings should know of this story, right?"
"Yes, I do."
Oneiros raises his head, the handsome man had a pair of eyes that were covered by a piece of cloth. Facing Overlord's question, he replies in a calm but direct tone:
"But I cannot tell you."
"I am but the recorder of stories, not the speaker. If you wish to know all the answers, then I can tell you about it after the story ends."
"And if I must know?"
A dangerous tone appears in Overlord's words.
Oneiros smiles at the face of Overlord's hidden threat, he extends his finger, points above him, and says softly:
"It is true that I am inexperienced in combat, but I can still withstand Overlord's Divine Wrath and Death's Annihilation. What I want to remind you two of, is that this is a secret gamble, should our battle be detected by the Living Tribunal...then I'm certain that you all know what would be the consequences of this forbidden gamble."
"......"

Oneiros' words made both sides silent.
Gambling with a secretly created pocket universe is strictly forbidden by the absolutely fair and just Living Tribunal.
Once things get out of hand, the halting of the game and recollection of the pocket universe meant for holding refugees would be the last of their problems.
In worse cases, no one involved in this gamble can escape the fury of the Living Tribunal.
The situation right now is best described in one sentence.
Fighting a wolf with a flex stalk - either side is afraid of the other.
"Ahem."
The referee Grandmaster looks at the two, coughs lightly, and says:
"Since we are unable to learn the truth in our current situation, why not ask our observer? Phantom Stranger has been observing the progress of the gamble from inside the pocket universe all this time, surely the change in time cannot be hidden from him, why not just ask him instead?"
"It's not that simple."
Overlord shakes his head, wariness along with seriousness flash in his eyes as he says:
"If the mysterious interferer can hide from us, then surely he can hide from Judas..."
A few minutes later, Phantom Stranger in the pocket universe replies with a message with only three words.
"All is normal."
This result did not exceed Overlord's expectations, Phantom Stranger could not even sense the odd change in the timeline he was in.
"Hell!"
Overlord covers his eyes and says softly:
"We've been calculated, this is a sign of things getting out of control."
He raises his head and looks at Merlin who was talking with Hermione on the screen. A few seconds later, he lets out a smile and says with interest:
"But this is good too, the more variables there are, the more fun there will be. Let us see if Merlin can jump out from our hands with the help of the mystery person."
The expressionless Death nods in agreement, he was already at a disadvantage, so variables may not necessarily be a bad thing.
He turns and looks at the referee, asking:
"Since there was the interference of a force beyond expectations...shall we abort this round?"
"Mmm."
The referee Grandmaster nods:
"I declare! The current round will end earlier! The two contestants will now enter the next dice throw!"
"Swish"
The conscious dice falls into Overlord's hand, he looks at the dice in his hand and glances at Death, saying softly:
"Pity, Merlin did not discover the threats hidden in the darkness around him. The seed has begun to grow, Mr. Tyrion, it'll be too late if you don't do something."
"How do you know that I didn't?"
Death stares at Overlord with one eye, a faint smile appears on his cold face as he says:
"How do you know that I didn't leave a backhand?"
Overlord's expression turns odd from his smile, he throws the dice while asking Death:
"You cheated too?"
Facing Overlord's question, Death returns to his expressionless self as he says softly:
"Guess."
"Pa"
The dice thrown by Overlord rolls through the air and onto the gambling table, a fuzzy projection appears in the air as the dice lands.
It was a rusted mechanical gearwheel in a burning fire.
"Mmm, 'Mechanical Conflict'."
Overlord sees the gearwheel and nods with satisfaction:
"Finally, a story I'm familiar with, it looks like I'm quite advantageous this round."
"Don't be so full of yourself."
Death shakes his head, he reaches out, grabs the dice of fate, and throws it without looking; the heavy dice rolls past the air and lands on the gambling table.
Then, a dark projection appears above the gambling table, at the end of the darkness, a light similar to that of the light of dawn was flickering; and in that light, the faint figure of a goddess could be seen.
Seeing this projection, Overlord's expression becomes ugly, while Death's expression eases up.
"Oh, 'Reverse Light'."
"The brightest light is oftentimes born from the darkest night."
Death says in a meaningful tone:
"Last round, he could not discover the threats in the darkness, and this round, hehe...the seed you planted is about to wither! If you don't do something, you'll probably be too late!"
"Let's see then!"
Overlord retorts so, but it could not change the fact that he had a terrible hand.
If Merlin was lucky enough in this round, the traps he had set up by Merlin's feet so carefully would be rooted out entirely.
"Speaking of which, do you two really not care about what Merlin had received from that lost time?"
Before the referee Grandmaster declared the start of the new round, he asked a rather private question:
"What if it's something of utmost importance?"
"Hehe, nothing to worry about."
Overlord returns to his seat and places his attention on the screen, he looks at Merlin and says:
"Even if you give a child a gun, could he win against a giant? Regardless of what Merlin received, he'll have to work hard to escape from all this, and I mean, work even harder."
Death too shakes his head and says in a deadly silent tone:
"The story has yet to reach the end, some small changes won't affect the direction of the river of fate."
"Alright."
Grandmaster shrugs, he raises his hands and says in a serious tone:
"As the referee, I now declare the start of the next round!"
"Shwa"
A tiny thread of light sprinkles towards the entire galaxy from the end of the universe, like the light of dawn that pierces through the endless darkness.
At the same time, Merlin who was speaking with Hermione suddenly hears the ringing of the phone in his pocket.
He picks up the phone and glances at the caller before frowning.
"Hello? Fury? Is something wrong?"
On the phone, Fury says in a serious yet anxious tone:
"Let Garrett take over what you're doing right now, head to London immediately, a plane will be waiting for you there."
"There's been another S-class event, in Argentine!"
