Chapter 498: Dense Clouds in the Sky Again

Translator: Nyoi-Bo Studio  Editor: Nyoi-Bo Studio

It was windless and soundless in the Empty Realm, and was as quiet as a graveyard. A great many of lightning flashes in the higher space threatened to strike at any moment, and yet it seemed that they would never strike. These latent bolts of lightning looked like a pair of strange eyes of purple, red and blue staring at the occurrence below.

Jing Jiu looked at his own right hand at every part of his body; he was certain that there were some delicate or amazing changes that had happened to his body.

He had accepted Liu Ci’s invitation at the site of the temple ruin located on the barren mountain and became the sword that had slain Nan Qü and injured Xilai. This meant that he had taken an important step toward that stream.

He wasn’t sure what would happen later. He had asked Nan Qü two questions, but the replies he obtained were merely Nan Qü’s own answers.

Still, it wasn’t that important, and that was because he had never doubted himself. The reason he had always refused Liu Ci and was unwilling to take the step forward was because he had been worried about another matter.

Jing Jiu looked in the direction of Shaoming Island. Judging from the behavior of the major Cultivation sects like the Center Sect and the One-Cottage House, they should have figured out that his Big Brother was on that island.

Jing Jiu wondered if the result was the one his Big Brother had predicted. If that person was his emissary, then his Big Brother would indeed win the war in the end. But would his Big Brother have the opportunity to enjoy the victory?

While thinking of all this, Jing Jiu looked at a spot in the sky and found that Liu Ci was not there.

The raindrops were trickling down from the sky.

The rain was not heavy, though. It stopped after a while. Many Cultivation practitioners’ clothes were wet.

Yet, even though there were some raindrops on their faces, nobody cared to wipe them off, nor did any of them consider blocking the rain by employing magic.

They were all still in the shocked state after witnessing that sword light; they couldn’t spare a fraction of their minds to deal with such a trivial matter as rain.

That sword light came from the distant horizon and severely wounded the Godly Swordsman of West Ocean as well as many disciples of the West Ocean Sword Sect in the blink of an eye, dissolved the Flying Whale, and killing Nan Qü in the high sky at the end.

Heaven and earth had opened a path for the sword light, and the devils and the divine beings would evade it as well. No words, no matter how wonderful they were, were sufficient to describe the amazing nature of that sword light…

What on earth was that sword then? How could such an amazing sword exist in this world?

The Cultivation practitioners reflected on the experiences in their long careers and recalled the ancient recordings on their mountains; but none of them could remember there was a sword as powerful as this one.

This was probably the most powerful sword in the history of Chaotian.

Countless gazes pulled back from the sky, and returned to the arena along with the raindrops, fixing on the Immortal Liu Ci.

Their eyes were filled with admiration and awe.

That was a dreadful sword; but the person who had wielded the sword was even more dreadful.

Many people remembered what the Immortal Liu Ci had said to Nan Qü earlier.

“I’m the sect master of Green Mountain; it’s only natural that I have no equal in the world.”

Which was true.

With a sword in his hand, Liu Ci was the strongest swordsman in Chaotian.

Even though he was the strongest swordsman in the world, he would have exhausted a great deal of his energy and sword source after having wielded such a powerful sword.

Looking in the direction of Shaoming Island, Liu Ci raised his eyebrows suddenly.

The wind rose.

Dense dark clouds appeared in the sky.

Though the Sword of Twelve Storey Building was not the best sword in the world, the Godly Swordsman of West Ocean was almost the best swordsman in the world.

Back when Tian Jinren brought him to the Foggy Island in the South Ocean, he was just a youth.

Without a master or a sect, he simply relied on a few books to cultivate his sword work to the upper limit over the period of two hundred years, and founded the West Ocean Sword Sect. Such a person was of course quite outstanding.

The West Ocean Sword Sect had developed, under a tremendous pressure from the Green Mountain Sect, until today. How many people in the world could achieve such a feat?

Unfortunately, he called himself “Jian Xilai” (aka. A Sword from the West), so he couldn’t resist a sword coming from the horizon.

Fortunately, the swordsmen of the Green Mountain Sect were all inside the Sword Formation of Six Stars at the time. They had no choice but to let him drop to the Fallen Immortal Island after being wounded severely.

The Fallen Immortal Island was the main island of the West Ocean Sword Sect, and was far away from Shaoming Island. Even though the Protective Formation of mountain gate had been damaged, the defense facility here would be able to resist any attack for a while.

A huge hole of about one thousand feet wide and one hundred feet high was situated on the eastern side of the island, facing the ocean.

It looked like a huge window, from which one could see the rain falling into the sea and the wind in the sky.

A white line formed over the surface of the ocean, and soon the Godly Swordsman of West Ocean landed in the window.

He turned his head to look over his shoulder. He knew that his Master had died after seeing the raindrops falling from the sky.

To think about it, he found that the name of the Fallen Immortal Island was not a proper one since his Master was called the “Fairy Swordsman in the South Ocean”; he should have changed the name back then.

His face was pale, but it didn’t show any emotion. “Is this a scheme plotted by you people?” he asked.

A few years ago, the Young Mysterious Dark Master contacted him through Su Ziye, telling him that they would like to cooperate with him to kill the Immortal Taiping.

Though the Godly Swordsman of West Ocean was not good at scheming, he was aware that such a simple plan had no chance of succeeding. As such, he managed to bring the Center Sect into the plan through Su Ziye.

According to his original goal, he intended to kill the Immortal Taiping first, and then work together with his Master to kill that emissary of Green Mountain.

In order for the Immortal Taiping to take the bait, he had even sacrificed Tian Jinren’s life…In the end, his Master had died, and the West Ocean Sword Sect was on the brink of total destruction; but the Center Sect still hadn’t come to their rescue yet.

It was evident now where the problem lied.

No matter how violently the Green Mountain Sect had attacked the West Ocean Islands and how violent the wind and rain were outside, Su Ziye stayed put on the Fallen Immortal Island.

The former young master of the Mysterious Dark Sect and the most talented young man in the deviant Cultivation didn’t make a “splash” during this battle.

It was because he had already done the splashing before the battle began.

The reason he stayed put on the Fallen Immortal Island was because he knew that the Godly Swordsman of West Ocean would come back here and ask him this question.

“Yes,” Su Ziye replied calmly. “From the very beginning, what I wanted to do was to kill you. After the completion of this task, the Center Sect will help the Mysterious Dark Sect find a spiritual source.”

The Godly Swordsman of West Ocean stood at a spot dozens of feet away from Su Ziye, but he somehow reached out his hand and clutched Su Ziye’s neck.

A sword light shot out from between Su Ziye’s brows and hit the Godly Swordsman of West Ocean squarely in the chest.

The Godly Swordsman swayed a bit, making his injury even worse, and his Dao Tree had almost collapsed.

Even if he could flee today, he had no chance of fully recovering even if he would cultivate diligently for another hundred years, and he had no hope of reaching the upper limit of sword work again.

This sword will was immensely powerful; it was sharp and somber, something with which the Godly Swordsman was rather familiar.

He remembered that this was Pei Baifa’s sword.

Pei Baifa had infused this sword will and his remaining zhenyuan into Su Ziye’s body, and it hadn’t displayed its power until now.

Su Ziye had put up with them on the West Ocean Islands for many years for this very moment.

Su Ziye’s head would fall off as long as the Godly Swordsman of West Ocean summoned his will.

Su Ziye was waiting calmly for his forthcoming death.

Many years ago, he cut off Pei Baifa’s head with his own hand, and witnessed Tong Lu’s head floating in the sea with his own eyes. From that moment on, he hadn’t feared death.

Unexpectedly, the Godly Swordsman didn’t kill him.

“The Center Sect has promised you a spiritual source…It looks like Green Mountain will have a mishap.”

The Godly Swordsman of West Ocean withdrew his hand expressionlessly, and turned around toward to the deep part of the manor cave.

Nan Qü was dead, and the Godly Swordsman of West Ocean fled; the disciples of the West Ocean Sword Sect had suffered heavy casualties, and the sword light that had appeared at the end suppressed any intent of resistance.

However, this war was not over; it was because the Immortal Taiping hadn’t been captured yet.

Shaoming Island was sealed off with ice and threatened by the Dragon-Tail Inkstone from the very beginning. Regardless of how capable the Immortal Taiping was, he had no chance of escaping without being detected.

A sword boat of Green Mountain was descending onto Shaoming Island.

The Immortal Guangyuan led dozens of ready Green Mountain disciples to land on the island.

The Cloud Boat of the Center Sect, the Boat of Diligent Study of the One-Cottage House, and the swordsmen of the Fruit Formation Temple, the Kunlun Sect and other orthodox sects were watching the scene in the air.

The black mountain on the island, after being slashed by the sword of the Godly Swordsman of West Ocean, displayed a smooth and sheer stony cliff and some complicated hidden tunnels.

In the stony room at the deepest part of the island, the Great Grandmaster of the Mysterious Dark Sect stood behind Yin San.

Looking at the young man in front of him, Yin San didn’t say anything, his eyes full of curiosity and incomprehension.

No matter how brutal the battle was outside of the island, it had nothing to do with him; the West Ocean Sword Sect was finished nonetheless.

Nan Qü would die thanks to that sword; and his wicked disciple should know what he would do next.

All he needed to do next was to take the First Child Sword and leave.

Yin San was inspired today by the method Nan Qü had revealed and that sword light from the horizon.

In all of Chaotian, only Nan Qü and that sword could enthuse Yin San.

After obtaining the First Child Sword, he would leave the West Ocean and try to temper his body into a sword. Once it was successful, he would go back to Green Mountain and start over.

A few decades later, after that wicked disciple of his died, he would be able to take the position of the sect master of Green Mountain again. And he would be able to intimidate all of Chaotian with that sword while holding the sheath of the Inherited Heaven Sword, and complete his great cause.

This was a perfect plan.

However, he had encountered a problem even before the first part of this perfect plan could be executed.

It was because a young man stood in the room where the First Child Sword was hidden.

The young man, covered in dusts from head to toe, showed a nonchalant expression in his eyes, possessing a good-looking and tender face.

Yin San found that this young man looked like himself, and so did Su Ziye.

All of a sudden, he found that there were two young men in this world who looked like himself. Though it was amazing, it was nevertheless discomforting.

“Very outstanding,” Yin San commented with a faint smile.

“Thanks for your compliment, Immortal,” Tong Yan returned calmly.

He was holding the Green Sky Mirror with both of his hands.

He aimed the Green Sky Mirror at Yin San.

Whoosh!!!

A band of white light shot out from the Green Sky Mirror.

The band of white light had a faint golden glow in it, which was the purest energy of the fairy immortals and full of destructive intents on a grand scale.

A fearful expression showed on the face of the Young Mysterious Dark Master.

Yin San’s face looked pale while being illuminated by the light of the mirror.
