Chapter 408: Guardian

Shi Mu looked at the pale silver flame in the eyes of Liu Yan and became nervous.

The two fireballs gave off a sinister and sorrowful feeling.

“You’ve forced me to use the Ten Thousand Corpse Qi of the Fallen Angel Desk. For you and me now, there is no turning back.” Liu An said in a cold voice while stepping out. In a second, his figure disappeared.

Shi Mu’s face was discolored but he did not hesitate and swiftly swept toward the side.

As he moved, a black light flashed and a dark claw appeared from the side. Charged with lightning, it left a few shadows in midair.

Puff puff… Blood began to pour down.

Shi Mu’s body appeared a few feet outside and his face was as pale as a piece of paper. He had his hand on his waist, where his clothes had torn and blood began to pour out of his deep wound.

Although he was quick to doge, Liu An’s speed was far too fast to completely escape from.

Suddenly, his heart moved and a tingling sensation could be felt on his wound. It seemed that Liu An’s claws carried some kind of poison.

Liu Yan’s figure appeared in the place where Shi Mu had just stood and recovered the ghost claws, which was now stained with Shi Mu’s blood.

He placed his bloody claws under his nose and took a deep breath. His face was intoxicated with the smell of blood and praised it:

“Such pure blood!”

Shi Mu quickly turned his hand and took out a green charm which he attached to the wound on his waist.

Liu An turned and looked at the green charm on Shi Mu’s waist. The flames in his eyes flickered in rage but he did not stop Shi Mu from tending to his wounds.

Shi Mu seemed to be calm but his heart was sinking. The strength Liu An possessed now was undoubtedly very close to that of Heaven Rank. Such speed and strength was far beyond his own.

He took a deep breath as he clenched the Heavenly Meteoric Black Iron Knife tightly in his hand.

Zoom…!

A sliver figure swept past Shi Mu from his behind and rushed toward Liu An. Black shadows began to emerge and charged at Liu An with full force like a storm.

“Escape now!” Yan Luo’s voice could be heard crystal clear within Shi Mu’s heart.

Rumble!

A series of black bars bombarded Liu An from all directions while bursting in rays of bright light. Deafening sounds and smoke danced in all directions.

Shi Mu was shocked as he witnessed the fog with a layer of silver. It gave the feeling of being stuck in an illusion, like a silver moth rushing to the flame.

An inexplicable emotion surged within Shi Mu.

“Get out!”

An angry roar came from the rolling smoke followed by a shining glare like fireworks.

A silver figure flew out of the smoke and slammed the ground more than 20 feet away, creating a huge pit.

The silver armor in the pit cracked, revealing the sternum and ribs which were almost completely broken.

Yan Luo turned over and jumped up again. The soul of the fire flashed slightly as the body flew out like a projectile. He ignored the injury on his body and flew toward Liu An.

“Escape now… Quickly!”

Yan Luo’s voice once again could be heard in Shi Mu’s heart but this time full of anger.

Shi Mu’s face showed a bitter smile.

Escape? Where?

This was none other than the Dead Spirit World. He had no idea how to escape this world and no spirit weapon or charm magic similar to the Fallen Angel Desk could isolate the energy here. He might be able to support himself here for the time being but he definitely could not do so if he was stuck here for the rest of his life.

Moreover, with the strength Liu An possessed now, there was no way he could easily escape without going down in a fight.

He took a deep breath and slammed the Heavenly Meteoric Black Iron Knives in his hand as it rumbled, making a tremor.

Shi Mu’s eyes flashed with golden light and he flew at Liu An.

He had not yet reached there but his Heavenly Meteoric Black Iron Knife had emerged in thirteen shadows, attacking Liu An.

As Yan Luo caught onto Shi Mu’s attack, her eyes flashed with a soul of fire but did not say anything. The black bar on her hands instantly dissolved into shadows that attacked Liu An.

The two joined forces and Liu An was taken by surprise, rushing to defend himself from the continuous attacks.

“You weaklings! I’ll show you what real power of the Heaven Rank is!”

Liu Yan screamed in fury. His body radiated a ray of gray light and bloomed as the huge and powerful force began spreading out from him.

Shi Mu and Yan Luo were physically shaken by this force until they fell on their knees.

Liu An grabbed it with one hand and the black light began to gather around his hand, condensing into a black trowel. The entire surface of the trowel had a black flashing current that kept turning.

His figure swayed and in front of Shi Mu, the black scythe had turned into a dense black shadow similar to a knife.

Shi Mu’s face changed greatly as it was too late to dodge the attack at this rate. He quickly placed the Heavenly Meteoric Black Iron Knife across his head as a shield.

Bang!

The smoke and dust danced as Shi Mu’s face turned red. With his feet grounded and both his hands holding firmly onto the Heavenly Meteoric Black Iron Knife, he was able to withstand Liu An’s attack, but his body was stuck to the ground like a pillar.

There was a smirk on Liu An’s face. His laughter was sinister. He continued to suppress Shi Mu with a sickle and the other black fist blasted out and hit Shi Mu’s chest with a terrifying force.

At that moment, a silver shadow flashed in front of Shi Mu. It was Yan Luo! The black bar that was previously in her hand was missing but her arms were covered with two pieces of silver armor, shielding them from any more attacks.

Boom! Liu An’s fist slammed against Yan Luo’s shield.

Ka-cha!

The silver armor on Yan Luo’s arms instantly broke, revealing her crystal arm beneath it.

Two slender arms crossed in front of them as they clung to Liu An’s huge fists.

Ka-cha!

The smoke in Yan Luo’s eyes began to flash intensely and a burst of invisible sound waves flew out, bombarding Liu Yan at close range.

Liu An’s brow wrinkled and a layer of gray light appeared on his face, condensing into a translucent shield.

The invisible sound wave touched the translucent shield as if it had encountered a nemesis. It made a series of squeaking sounds as it burst and dissipated.

“I initially wanted to keep you but since you are looking for death, let’s die together!” Liu An sneered as the black scythe that had been suppressed Shi Mu was lifted high and flew toward Yan Luo.

Boom! The black scythe hit Yan Luo directly, her silver armor cracked until she was cut in half.

Before Yan Luo was incapacitated, a ray of black light emerged from her mouth, stabbing right at Liu An. It was the Heavenly Meteoric Black Bar.

The Heavenly Meteoric Bar began to emit a strange glow, and the black light of the head condensed into a sharp shape, similar to a gun.

At this close range, Liu Yan had no place to run.

Puff! The black short rod pierced through the translucent shield into Liu An’s chest but it had only cut into the skin.

Suddenly, a circle of black enamel spread around the short stick in all directions.

In shackles, Liu An’s eyes were disorientated and his body shook a bit, apparently trying to keep himself from falling.

It was obvious that the iron bar not only had a physical but spiritual effect against its foes.

With the strength Liu An possessed now, his senses fell into confusion.

His eyes were bleak as he rolled a few times in the air and landed heavily.

“Yan Luo!” Shi Mu saw he held onto the split body of Yan Luo. Seeing this had heavily angered Shi Mu.

“Ah!”

He witnessed a crack and roared angrily. The blood in his body seemed to boil and suddenly appeared on the surface of the sky.

He had huge muscles and his skin was now filled with silvery-white hair. He flew up and turned into a giant white ape. His whole body exuded powerful violent qi.

The white ape that Shi Mu had turned into was very different from the previous ones. Though it was only two or three feet high the scent of the ape was much stronger than those before.

Although it was nothing compared to Liu An’s current power and strength, it was somewhat similar.

The giant ape was no longer golden but a blood-red color. It was full of turmoil and its was left hand was still entirely black.

Boom!

The ape jumped off of the ground, screaming as the huge claws clutched onto the black iron knife. The knife looked very short in its hand, almost as if it was holding a dagger.

But as the eyes of the giant ape flashed, the black iron knife immediately rushed to the sky and the blade seemed to turn into a black sun.

A black light flew out of the giant ape and turned into black knives like a mountain, heading down to Liu An’s neck.

Liu An’s sight was still chaotic at the moment but as soon as he realized that he was in a dangerous situation, he let out a loud scream. The black light of the Fallen Angel Desk in the sky flew down and rose dozens of times as if it were a shield.

The black knives were now on the Fallen Angel Desk as two black auras collided with each other. A loud earth-shattering noise broke out. The airflow in the radius of several dozen feet was stirred.

On the surface of the Fallen Angel Desk, the black light flashed weakly and almost collapsed but still succumbed to the black iron knife.

As Liu An’s mind recovered, he looked at the giant white creature in front of him and his face changed, seemingly surprised by the appearance of the ape.

He quickly muttered a few words and black light began to blend into the Fallen Angel Desk.

There were countless black runes on the surface of the Fallen Angel Desk. The radiance began to stabilize along with the black iron knife that was still in the air.

At Liu An’s foot, a body reached out to grab the short black stick and pull it out.

This would have been a fatal injury to ordinary people, but Liu An had been a corpse and still appeared uninjured

The giant ape was angered at being blocked. Seeing Liu An’s slight movements, his eyes dilated a little.

The next moment, the ape’s face showed excitement. It lifted its arm and fingers but it looked rather slow.
