Chapter 3: The Means to Stop Her

(Here's another warning for this series, I will be using Ace Combat elements and locations at times. So not everything will be correct to the real world or Azur Lane)

1 Month After Alicorn's "Birth"

Enterprise is walking down a large corridor, when a voice calls out to her from a hallway to her left. 

"Miss Enterprise!" Erik's voice rings out and she looks to her left and sees Erik waving to her. "We're over here."

Enterprise walks down the hallway towards Erik and he motions to a door to his left and they enter the room.

it's dark inside the room, except light coming from a large window. On the other side of the window is a large room with pink walls, a bed in the corner with a desk and lamp. Kids toys scattered around the room, and in the center of it, is Alicorn.

 She's wearing a dress with a tiara on her head, and she's using a crayon to color in a book.

"Can she see us?" Enterprise asks.

Erik shakes his head. "This is a one way window. And before you ask, we have our female scientists monitor 24/7. I just sent them off for this little visit." 

Enterprise looks to Alicorn with a slight glare before she turns back to Erik. "I wouldn't have ever come here again, But Yorktown asked me to check up on her."

Erik nods. "I know you don't like her origin's, But I do respectfully ask to treat her nice, she's just a child right now."

"A dangerous child."

Erik sighs and he turns around and goes to a thick steel door next to the glass window, and types in a code on a key pad. The door opens and he motions for Enterprise to follow him. "Let's go officially meet your niece." 

Enterprise doesn't say anything as she follows Erik into the room.

Alicorn hasn't notice their presence and she keeps coloring in her book.

"Hey, sweety." Erik says as he kneels down and Alicorn quickly turns around and smiles.

"Daddy!" Alicorn has a high pitched childish voice. She stands up and runs over to Erik and hugs him.

Currently Alicorn is about three feet tall.

Erik hugs his "Daughter" back. "I brought someone to meet you." Erik motions to Enterprise and Alicorn looks at her, Siren Yellow eyes look at Enterprise with curiosity. "She's your aunt. Enterprise."

"Ent-Entr...Entp.." Alicorn is having trouble pronouncing Enterprise's name. "...ENTY!" She cheers.

"Enty?" Enterprise questions as she looks to Erik.

"She has slight trouble speaking right now." Erik informs. "She was just 'born', so to speak, so it is to be expected." Erik looks down at  Alicorn. "Me and your aunt have some things to discuss, why don't you go back to color and show me it later."

Alicorn smiles and quickly nods. Then she runs back to her coloring book with a giggle, and continues coloring.

Erik stands up. "Follow me." Enterprise nods as Erik walks out of the room with the ship girl following him.

Erik closes the door and a few metallic clicks are heard from within the door. "Don't worry, there's no possible way for her to get out. This door is 8 inches of steel and the window is six inches thick."

"Makes me feel slightly better." Enterprise says.

Erik and Enterprise walk out of the room and down the hall. "I know you may be wondering, but we have constructed counter measures if Alicorn were to go rouge. As much as I hate do it, it's needed."

They come to a door and Erik swipes a key card and the door opens. The two walk in to come to a hangar of sorts with a boat launch that leads into the ocean from a hole in the mountain. An HO ship comes in as they walk into the hanger. 

Erik points to across the ship and Enterprise sees some sort of missiles being loaded off the ship and into a cargo container with a symbol on it.

"We've constructed the Vertical Launch Anti-Submarine Rocket, or VL-ASROC." Erik states. "They were very expensive to make so we were only able to make four."

"And they will work against Alicorn?" Enterprise asks.

"They believe so, I just hope we are able to control Alicorn. I never want to use this stuff to stop her."

Enterprise notices some strange looking planes in the corner of the hanger and she points to them. "What're those?"

"Hm?" Erik looks to where she's pointing. "Oh, those. They're something the Northern Parliament developed for Alicorn. They've called them, Mig-29ks. They're based on the Siren's planes."

"You keep giving her dangerous 'toys'." Enterprise glares at Erik.

"If it means the end of the war, we'll even give her a nuclear weapon." 

"Nuclear?"

"A WMD, Weapon of Mass Destruction. We're in the middle of developing it, originally for a means to stop Alicorn if all else fails. But some of the Commanders and a few scientists have decided to also make these to develop them as a possibility to stop sirens." Erik begins to walk out of the room with Enterprise following him. "With our current resources, we'll develop the 'Nukes' as I call them, within a couple years."

"Will these be publicly known?" Enterprise asks.

"More than likely, but as a cover up for the development of Alicorn. We've manged to hide her this long, but people are staring to question why so many resources are being used up for a classified project in the middle of the ocean."

The two reach the main entrance of the facility. 

"I just hope your next visit is not about how to potentially kill, Alicorn. I hate talking about it." Erik says.

"If there is a next time." Enterprise says as she walks out of the facility.

Erik sighs.
