Chapter 19 - Staying The Night

“The anime huh… what was it again? A moe anime?” she asked.

“Yup.”

“I really didn’t expect you to like those kinds of anime, Inoue-san…”

“Huh? What genre of anime did you think I’d like?” Confused, I asked her.

“Shounen stuff?”

“Pfft” I almost laughed out loud after I heard what she said.

“Why are you laughing?”

“Nothing, it’s just that it couldn’t be further from the truth.”

“…I see.”

Realising that the conversation was going further from what I asked. I asked her again.

“So how was it? The moe anime?”

“It was surprisingly good. I didn’t realise that something like that could actually be interesting and good.”

“Right?”

She then talked more about it. It seems like she got hooked on the anime as I saw her eyes shining while talking about it.

“You see, there’s actually a second season of that anime…”

“Reallly?”

“Yeah. And I was wondering if you’d be interested in watching it right now…” As I finish my sentence, I see Sakurai-san’s eyes shining as she looked at me.

“Yes!”

Uwaa did she get that hooked into anime from one season? Or maybe she also got interested in the character designs and her interest on it helped her like the anime… Either way, I hope she learns how to draw facial expressions with this as It’ll greatly help me out in the future if she accepts my invitation.

“Let’s watch it then. I’ll just get more snacks ready… you go-" in the couch and sit…

Before I even finished my sentence, Sakurai was already on the couch.

“Yes!” she said, though I could see confusion in her eyes...

“Oh yeah, season two is longer than the first season. We’ll probably finish in midnight…”

“Don’t worry! I’m used to being sleep deprived! Let’s go watch it!”

“But, where are you going to sleep? It’s going to be midnight when we finish. Even if your home is close, I’m still nervous something might happen to you…”

“Huh? Can’t I just sleep here?”

“Hai?” Say what now?

“Don’t you have extra rooms here?”

“…I do.”

“See?”

“But wait! How about your clothes? Don’t you change before sleep?”

“Don’t worry about it~”

“Why?” I asked her.

“I’m already used to sleeping in my uniform. I rarely use pajamas.”

“Oi”

“Come on! Let’s watch!”

I finally gave up. The confused yet excited Sakurai was too strong...

“Sigh fine. You can sleep upstairs, there’s three rooms there. Make sure you lock your door inside with this.” I then handed her an external door lock.

“Why?”

“Just to make sure I don’t do something to you.” She then looked at me, confused.

“? Okay?”

After seeing the bizarre side of Sakurai, I got our snacks ready, and we watched the entire anime series, the movie included. I also got to see Sakurai’s shining eyes throughout the series as she watched.

After we finished, Sakurai went back to her normal self and went into the room upstairs. I gave her the 3rd room to make her feel safer as I was in the first room. After I showed her the room, I asked her again if she wants to come back to her apartment. She still refused as she thought it would be rude as I already prepared a room for her.

Although she did look quite excited while saying this, I just ignored it and thought that it was just because she wasn’t used to seeing a room like this which was fully furnished and had a fluffy bed. I guess she was just excited that she can finally sleep on something comfortable… It’s kind of sad.

Anyway, Even though she said she wanted to sleep here, I still felt guilty that I made a beautiful girl sleep in the same house as me. I just kept telling myself that I shouldn’t feel guilty as I had no bad thoughts about it whatsoever.

But it didn’t work as I almost couldn’t sleep that day.
