“You want what?” I asked my little sister who was lying on the couch.

“I want to go around the city with you guys.” She said as she scrolled the screen of her phone.

“... Me and Sakurai?”

“Well, yeah of course.”

“...Why?”

“I just want to go out with my new friend, you know? And our parents won’t let me unless you come along.”

“Fine. But we have to make sure nobody recognises me.”

“Hm? Why?”

“People might start some sort of rumour.”

“Heh~ Well we should be fine even if you don’t do anything”

“Why?”

(After School, 4:30 PM. Location: Random Cafe Nearby)

“Eh? Going out for dinner?” Sakurai asked, confused.

“Yeah, can you join us? Pleaseee” Sayuri said with fake teary eyes.

This girl...

“Eh um... But what if someone sees me and Inoue-kun going out together? Won’t some kind of misunderstanding be spread around school?” In response, Sayuri shrugged and said:

“Ah don’t worry about that.”

“Why?”

“Because my brother’s normal look can be mistaken for any other male student! So basically, his looks are so generic, nobody will figure out who he actually is!”

“Oi.” I said to the brat with a heavy voice, meanwhile Sakurai was thinking and muttered:

“Well, that is true. Inoue-kun’s looks are very average... pft” She said as she looked at me from toe to head and let out a small laugh at the end...

Oi why are you laughing after looking at my full body? I thought, as Sayuri talked again.

“Well, all jokes aside. My brother is actually quite handsome if dressed up properly.”

“Heh~ Is that so... Wait, now that I think about it, I’ve never seen Inoue-kun without his eyes being covered by his hair...” She then walked towards me, and crouched as she lifted her hands to my bangs and...

“Stop it. You’ll just be disappointed” I then stopped her by grabbing her wrists.

“Boo my brother is boring.”

“Just shut up. So, are you going to join us? Sakurai-san?”

“Eh... but” her head then slowly looked down for some reason... till I remember.

Ah...

“Don’t worry about the costs. It’s on us.” I told her, but she made an even more complex face than before.

“Ehhh~ why’d you have to drag me in~” Sayuri said jokingly, till she sees Sakurai’s face.

“Ah... ehem Well, don’t worry about it, Fumiko-san. I am the one who thought of this idea after all, so it’s all on us.” She said as she put her hand on her flat chest and made a proud pose.

“Ahahaha... I’d love to join you guys then...”

“Yosh! That’s it then~ Come on guys, let’s go to the mall first~” Sayuri said, she then ran off the cafe we’re currently staying at.

“...I’ll make sure I treat you guys too at a later date.” Sakurai said, as she followed Sayuri, but instead of running, she just walked like normal.

“Ah, sure.” I then soon followed.

After that, we went on mall and just strolled around. After a few minutes, we accidentally got into the cinema part of the shopping mall.

“Do you guys want to watch a movie?” Sayuri said to us.

Me and Sakurai then looked at each other for a while and finally said:

“Yeah" “Sure””

So we watched a random movie

“Well, I guess that was decent.” I said to Sayuri

“Meh it was kind of boring.”

“You were the one who asked us if we should watch it though.”

“I was wrong okay! But still, the girl who sold us popcorn was really rude, you know.”

“Hello, ma’am and sir. What would you be interested be in buying today?” The lady who was in charge of the store asked while smiling.

“Yeah, just popcorn and cola”

“I see... Would you like the family combo, sir?”

“Yes?”

“2 large popcorns, 2 medium-sized cola and 1 medium popcorn and small cola.”

“Ah no, we’re not a family.”

“Hm? This little girl isn’t your daughter?” She said as she pointed to Sayuri

“Hah?! I’ll have you know, I’m in 8th grade okay?!” she shouted. Meanwhile, Sakurai was just standing there, confused.

“Hm?”

“Ah sorry sorry, what would you guys like then... pft” The lady quickly apologised and asked us what we wanted... although I heard something else at the end of her sentence...

“3 large colas and 3 large popcorn.” Sayuri said to the middle-aged lady who was operating the store.

“Sure~” The lady then left and prepared our snacks.

“How rude...” Sayuri whispered as her eyes became teary

“That was actually funny though.”

“It wasn’t! Right, Fumi...ko-san?” Sayuri started her usual whining again, but she suddenly paused as she stared at something. Curious, I followed her eyes and there I see Sakurai, and noticed that her face was red...

Hm?

“Sakurai-san... why is your face red?” I asked her.

“Eh? I-it is?”

“Yeah... wait... was that the first time you watched a romance movie?”

“Mm mm mm” She could only nod and make weird sounds...

“The prettiest girl in my school is unexpectedly pure... unlike a certain 8th grader.” I then turned to Sayuri with a face of disappointment.

“What?” she said with a bratty attitude

“...Reading those weird manga got to her...” I said as I turned to my side and hid my face with my palm.

“Oi, why are you fake crying?!”

After that, we went to a nearby restaurant. Also, it is a quite unusual place to visit.

“... Why a ramen shop?” I told Sayuri bluntly, to which she responded with:

“Because it’s been a while since I last ate some. So I wanted to go here.”

“...Are you okay with this, Sakurai-san?”

“Ah yes. It’s been a while since I’ve eaten actual ramen.”

“Fine, then...”

So we had ramen and gyoza for dinner...

“We’re finally back home~” Sayuri said as she did a stupid dance and spun around

“Yup. Still though. Did you guys really have to go to that clothing store after we ate dinner? Couldn’t we just have come back home immediately?”

“Oh please, you also bought clothes didn’t you.” (Sayuri)

“...”

“Oh well, I’m coming inside the house first, it’s getting cold outside. See you later Fumiko-san~” (Sayuri)

“Ah yes... See you later too...” (Sakurai)

Sayuri then walked towards the door and opened it. As she was about to go inside, however, she pauses and looks towards me to say something.

“Dont forget to give Sakurai the clothes I bought for her okay~” (Sayuri)

“Yeah yeah, i’m not as stupid as you so I’d never forget that.”

“Oh shut up.” (Sayuri)

She then finally went inside and closed the door. And now only I and Sakurai remain outside. After a while, Sakurai talks again.

“I really can’t thank you guys enough...”

“Don’t worry about it. This time it wasn’t me, but my sister. You should thank her instead.”

“I already did that but... I’ll make sure I can repay everything you guys have done to me.” She said as she made a cute gesture by lifting her hands up to her neck and squeezing it to make a fist.

“I’ll look forward to that... heres the clothes she bought for you.” I said as I handed over one of the paper bags I am currently holding.

“Thank you...”

“Anyways, I’ll go inside now. It’s getting cold and these things are kind of heavy...”

“Ah yes sure..”

“Alright then, goodbye Sakurai.”

“Goodbye”

I then began to walk towards the house, but as I was walking, I hear Sakurai say something.

“Thank you very much...”

“...You’re welcome.”

She then bowed and finally left and went back to her home

...Well I guess today wasn’t so bad after all...
