Chapter 12: Chapter 12: The last oponent

Maeron woke up by the first ray of the sun even though he barely slept Hera was insatiable yesterday the sex that he had with her  continued until a few hours ago

"She is sexually frustrated" he said

Turning his head to see her sleeping with a contented expression on her face, he smile and left the bed heading for the bathroom who was more like a pool

"I am spending a lot of time here" sigh Maeron "Can't help it tho, even with the temple modified with my space power the mortal realm is uncomfortable for a god I am losing power just by staying there, and Tartarus is litteral a hell, for being like me." He said a little dejected "fortunately I should be able to solve this issue soon"

After taking a long bath he wore his fancy clothes "I'm leaving see you soon" he said to the sleeping goddess, but he knew that she could hear him before leaving through one of his portals without, getting out on the other side he took place on his throne situated on an elevated platform.

From there, he saw all his warriors gather around the training field cheering and analyzing the battle happening in front of them.

Argus holding a two-handed sword was facing Talon a tall and muscular man with a spear in hand they were both visibly injured indicating that the battle started a while ago, the state of Argus was visibly worst, his clothes were torn up and he was bleeding profusely.

Gripping his sword with more strength he launches himself against Talon destroying the ground under his feet, but he was met by a barrage of thrusts stopping him dead in his track in an instant Argus found himself on the defensive he use his sword to deflect Talon's attacks, but suffered a few minors injuries before a powerful strike push him a few meters back.

"Huff; huff..." breathing heavily Argus began to mentally analyze his state

'it's not good, I am bleeding a lot and I am nearly out-breath, fucking spearman no matter where or how I come at him he always manages to keep me away, even when I finally get in his reach he finds a way to retreat, with the less damage possible, it's infuriating, all I need is one clear blow' he thought

All the spectators could see that Argus was not heavily injured but was bleeding profusely from all the cuts he accumulated since the beginning of the fight the damages were pilling up.

'He once again attempted an offensive by moving in zigzag hoping to find an opening he was able to escape the few first strikes but he was once again caught up but Talon's spear.

'He is losing patience' from above Maeron was able to see that the lack of success in his attacks was driving Argus crazy.

After regaining a little breath he attempted another assault but this time it was a more frontal one and with his sword placed in front of his and the determined light in his light eyes everyone could see that.

Seeing Argus run toward him like that Talon just smile 'you finally lost patience, come I am waiting' he thought

When Argus sped toward him he got in position and once he was in his reach he launches a barrage of attacks so fast the majority of warriors present could only see after afterimage.

Argus was able to withstand the strikes and deflect the most deadly ones to be able to advance but in return he sustains heavy damage as the spear pierced threw his thigh, and arms to be able to follow Talon who was stepping back to maintain the distance.

Under the eyes of everyone driven by sheer guts and determination he was able to close the gap by pushing his opponent to the edge of the field he raise his sword to deliver the blow but in the air, his arms tremble and stay immobile.

"You fought well, but this win is mine!" said Talon who was in front of Argus

Everyone was silently looking at the spear whose head was visible on Argus's back after having made his way threw his stomach.

"He is done!"

"Yep, fight's over!"

As it wasn't the first time that a deadly injury occurs in their training they weren't panicking at the end they will be healed by Maeron powers so they just focus on analyzing and discussing the fight

"it was a good fight"

But at this moment something that they didn't expect happened Argus grab the hand of Talon immobilizing him.

"I finally catch you, and now that I got you I won't let you get away" said Argus with a smile

"Let go of me" shouted Talon

Under the eyes of everyone Talon tried free in hand from Argus's grip without success, he then started to panic and with his free hand began to frantically pummel his opponent in the face, but it was useless with his remaining strength he lower his sword to deliver a powerful vertical slash.

The field was so silent that you could hear the sound of someone gulping then a

"splash" resounds and blood sprays out from a gaping wound that appears on Talon's chest on Argus as he falls to the ground

It's only when the body of Talon was swallowed was water to heal him that shout of excitement and applauds resound on the field, Argus didn't even hear them as he lost consciousness and fell to the ground.

When Maeron saw Argus finally defeat the last warriors that he selected for him his eyes locked on everyone started to shine, "Haa, he was able to gain their allegiances and friendship" he said from his standpoint he was able to see the invisible link between Argus and all his previous adversary who were now standing around him as he was being healed in a bubble of water.

'The bond between them is well established and id pretty stong, no matter who you are human, gods or even a simple dog from the moment of your birth you are bonded to others, and it grow during your life parents, friend lover... and those bonds go even beyond death, for me who govern it I they provide me an incredible advantage on others...' he thought inward

As he was absorbed in his thought Argus and Talon regain consciousness

"Good fight"

"You too..." after they made peace and complimented each other for the fight Talon lower his head a little as a sign of submission to his new leader

After all that Argus got on one knee with the others behind him said solemnly "My lord it's with great pleasure that I announce to you that I finally complete your request to defeat them all in combats it took some time but as you stated it they are the best of the best  today after eight months ago I have the honor to announce that all of them have accepted to follow me and fight with me?"

After looking at them in silence for a moment Argus said"I am pleased to see that you have succeeded in this task it shows that I was right to choose you, now tell me are you ready to swear allegiance to me"

"I am ready to die for you, my lord!"

"Excellent" smiling he saw a link going from Argus to him "from now on you will be my apostles you will live and died by my command" he said placing his hand in front of him and a wave of Divine  energy engulf them
