“Just how deep is this?” Andre whispered, cautiously climbing down on the rocky walls. “If only I brought my phone.”
“Same,” Lya and Beau grumbled.
“I have one,” I said and the three of them gasped.
“Why didn't you tell us sooner!?” Lya half-shouted.
“Because you didn't ask,” I stated and Beau stomped my head.
“What are you waiting for? Call for help.” Andre suggested.
I tightened my grip on the rope, before slipping my left hand inside the pocket. After taking it out— I accidentally dropped it. “Uh...”
Four of us could hear the bounce on my phone till it reached the lowest ground. The rest started to shout curse words at me. I deserved that for being clumsy.

We finally reached the ground. When we did, I spotted my phone on the ground, and it was torn into pieces. I shed a tear and Beau tapped my back, comforting me. To forget this tragic feeling, four of us decided to wander the cave. Because doing nothing will bore us.
“Before we go...” I took out an extra rope from my bag. “Let's tie ourselves first, so we could keep in touch.”
We tied them up on our waist afterward. Thus, Andre and I turned on our flashlight. While the two followed us from behind, carrying the extended ropes.
As we ambled through, the only thing we could do was tremble in this cave. Darting our flashlight in every direction and noticed several Petroglyphs on the walls. I've seen them before in the previous caves. Though, the drawing was something else. Rather than discovering different doodles by prehistoric humans. All we could see were eyes. Every eye was detailed. It left us in question if anyone draw this.
Looking carefully made me wonder, Why do the eyes look like a devil? I touched it and the texture was smooth. Unlike the other caves art.
“Hey, Andre. Do you know what this drawing means?”
Good thing Andre was here. He was the only person who had the most experience in studying Petroglyphs.
“...”
He didn't respond and kept gazing at the unknown art. I called him again, “Andre?”
He flinched and turned his toward me. “Yes?”
“Do you know what these drawings are?”
“No. No, I don't.”
“I see.”
Before proceeding with our exploration. I took some pictures using the camera I brought with me. Hence, I got pulled by Lya because I was being left behind. We walked deep inside until two paths showed up. On the right side, everything was filled with eyes, even though they were just drawing. Aside from the right path. The left path was clean, with no paintings whatsoever.
“W-what now?” Beau stuttered, hiding behind Lya.
“Let's head back. It's too dangerous to go farther,” Andre proposed and all of us agreed.
Once again, we turned around as we did on the surface. Our eyes lit up due to the wall in front of us.
“Wait, there wasn't a wall behind us earlier, right?” Beau shivered.
I moved forward and kicked the wall. “Y-you're kidding right?” I stuttered as I couldn't believe it.
“Is someone playing a prank on us?” Lya stated.
“Maybe not, because if there is. We should've seen other people's stuff where we landed earlier,” Andre said.
“Then how are we supposed to go back!?” Beau half-shouted.

Andre pointed to the two paths that were ahead of us. “We'll split up to find an exit. Yama, do you have more ropes?”
I was dazed at the walls. Before I jerked up, responding to the word he said, and quickly took out three ropes on my bag. “This is the only ropes left.”
“Just how many ropes are you carrying...?” Lya asked.
“Five. Looks like it was pretty handy bringing this many ropes, huh?”
“Y-yeah...”
“Good, now all we need to do to split into two groups,” Andre began. “Beau and I will go to the right. While you two go to the left.”
“Wait, why would I team up with her?”
“You got a problem?” Lya narrowed her brows.
“No!”
“That's what I thought.”
“Is this even a good idea?” Beau asked.
“Don't worry.” Andre wiggled the ropes. “We'll use this rope to signal each other if something bad happens or if we find an exit.”
All of us nodded and split our ways to the path he suggested. Andre sounded leader-like there. I looked at my partner, only to notice her bitter expression. Is she jealous because she couldn't lead us?
What a sight to see and I kept it shut, of course. Teasing her might send me to a graveyard before I could get out of this place. Last time, I remembered her pointing out a pocket knife when someone harassed her. Well, I think that was reasonable since she got assaulted. Though, after doing that in the public, she was taken to the police station.
I almost laughed my ass off.
Anywho, we began again with our search to find an exit.
So awkward... Should I start a conversation? Nah, she's a bitch anyway.
“Hey, Yama,” Lya called out.
I flinched. “Y-yes?”
“You've been staring at me for a while now.”
“Huh...” my cheeks boiled up and I looked away. “S-sorry.”
“It's alright.”
“O-oh...”
Why didn't she yell at me?
SNAP!!!
Lya almost lost her balance and I caught her from behind, hugging her waist. My face burned up and quickly let go after she finally stood properly.
“Are you alrigh-”
“The rope...”
“What?”
I turned around and noticed the rope snap.
Oh no...
