Feng Quan looked at her mother in disbelief. “Imperial Mother! I really didn’t do anything! Imperial Mother!”

No matter what she said, Lin Xie Ya didn’t pay any other attention to her and instead instructed the servants to hurry and find the Imperial Doctor as fast as possible. She would never let anything happen to her beloved son.

Feng Ning watched from the side calmly.

She glanced at her older sister and silently wondered just how many times would Feng Quan required for her to be able to wake up and see the reality. Their parent would never care for them no matter how many times they begged for it.

No matter how much Feng Quan tried to create trouble to attract attention, they would never care for them.

After that, Feng Ning looked at Feng Zhu Liu, who was also staring at Feng Hou Shui intently.

“Where’s the Imperial Doctor! If there’s anything that happen to my son, I’ll not let him off!”

“Your Highness, the Imperial Doctors are on their way here.”

“Mother, it hurts! Huaaaaaaaaaaaa!”

“Don’t cry, it’ll be fine.”

It was chaotic, but Lin Xie Ya was trying her best to coax her son. Feng Hao Shui was only 8 years old, so it was normal for him to be pampered. At least, that was what in Lin Xie Ya’s mind right now.

Feng Zhu Liu’s fingers clenched into a fist. It was clear that she was jealous of Lin Xie Ya’s treatment towards Feng Hao Shui. She was clearly more accomplished, more talented, had better ability than her brother.

But because of her gender, she was treated like air.

It was unfair.

Very unfair.

Feng Ning thought for a moment before stretching her hand and tapped her younger sister’s shoulder to wake her up. Feng Quan might have ill intention towards her, but Feng Zhu Liu hadn’t done anything to her.

If Feng Ning could wake her sister up from her delusion, she might be able to help the other party before she did something that crossed the line forever.

Feng Zhu Liu’s body stiffened. She turned her head then asked in a faint voice, “What is it, Imperial Second Sister?”

Feng Ning motioned for Xiao Yu to come closer and wrote in the latter’s palm. “Your Highness, Her Highness asks you to go back earlier because it’s cold at night.”

“Thank you for Imperial Second Sister’s concern.” Feng Zhu Liu smiled and curtsied perfectly. Her manner was already honed to the point that no one would be able to find faults with her. “I’ll rest first so that Imperial Second Sister wouldn’t be worried.”

Feng Ning smiled and nodded.

Watching Feng Zhu Liu walked away, she sighed internally. If only their parents were not showing their bias so blatantly like that, the relationship between the sisters and brother might not be strained until it was like this.

It didn’t seem to be possible for one to fix it either.

‘Should I try to get closer to Feng Zhu Liu?’

Feng Ning actually preferred to stay alone inside her residence and control her own servants. Even though she didn’t do much, she made sure that these people knew who their master was.

With Princess Lin Xie Ya not caring about the small matters, it was easy for Feng Ning to establish herself inside her residence. At the very least, her servants listened to her and as long as they didn’t cross the line, she wouldn’t find things difficult for them either.

Life is not easy.

Why should one make it more difficult?

‘Let’s go back.’

Xiao Yu led Feng Ning back to her residence. It was a quiet walk back as Feng Ning had a lot inside her mind.

The night passed quietly.

The next day, the news was suppressed but a lot of servants from Feng Quan’s Residences were disposed of. Feng Quan was crying buckets, but Lin Xie Ya was firm. It was as if she was telling her first daughter that if she dared to cross the line, there was still her.

In the end, Feng Quan was married quietly.

Feng Hao Shui recuperated for a few days and the Imperial Doctors said that it was nothing more than normal sprain. It wouldn’t even last that long as it would be gone before one knew it.

A few days later, Teacher Xi came to Feng Ning’s Residence to resume teaching.

“Your Highness, this one had heard about some unpleasant news recently.” Teacher Xi looked at her disciple and sighed. “There are some bad rumors about Her Highness Princess Quan.”

Feng Ning was not surprised.

Because of Feng Quan’s antic that caused Feng Hao Shui to be wounded, Lin Xie Ya was not too polite during the three days after marriage meeting. It caused Feng Quan’s face to turn green, but she couldn’t control her parents.

Prime Minister Feng himself was also rather awkward, but he was close to Feng Quan’s husband. He could still strike some conversation here and there.

“Your Highness, forgive me for asking out of the line. Are you perhaps close with First Princess?”

First Princess refer to Feng Quan because she was the first born among the other royalties. Their cousin was the second princess while Feng Ning was actually the third princess. But in her residence, she was called as Imperial Second Princess by the servants because they were only within the residence.

A bit annoying to remember, but that was the undeniable truth.

Feng Ning shook her head lightly. She stretched her hand and wrote on Teacher Xi’s palm.

“I’m not close with Imperial First Sister, Teacher Xi.”

“I see.” Teacher Xi sighed. “I have taught you almost everything you need to know. Your Highness, you’re a fast learner.”

Feng Ning merely smiled.

Just learning about tea, poems, etiquette, music, and maths were actually not that much for her. She had already experienced the hell of having more than 10 subjects to be taught by the teachers and crammed so many those weird looking formulas that was used to depic…. *cough*

That was already far behind.

In any case, her math didn’t require teaching anymore. She even knew the complicated ones that was only found in the modern world so the basic math here was easy.

The hardest was the etiquette because Feng Ning was a bit lazy to move her body around. Not to mention, she would feel stiff if she had to act in the same way for a long period of time.

It was tiring.

“There are a lot of poems that can be learned. It might be hard to memorize it without being able to speak it out, but if you write it continuously, I’m sure you’ll do well, Your Highness.”

“Thank you, Teacher Xi.”

“Imperial Doctor Wu also said that your progress is remarkable. If only you’re allowed to get out, he would have long let you visit the patients directly.”

Feng Ning shook her head.

She only wanted to learn medicine because it was useful, but she couldn’t really call herself as a doctor. She was really not qualified to be one without proper practice.

“It’s alright. Imperial Doctor Wu will surely find a cure for your throat.” Teacher Xi gave reassuring smile.

Feng Ning looked at Teacher Xi and wondered whether these two thought that she wanted to learn medicine because of her condition. It was actually not like that, alright? It was indeed a convenient excuse, but she just wanted to learn what she wanted without being burdened by other things.

However, Feng Ning was too lazy to give any explanation.

She just busied herself with whatever she was doing.

Two years and more passed quietly.

Feng Ning tried to get out of the residence to pay a visit to Feng Zhu Liu, but she could see that the other party didn’t welcome her. Since then, she didn’t try to visit again and only during formal events did the two sisters met.

It was really pitiful for blood related sister, but the fact was that the two of them were really not close.

In addition, Feng Ning received a shocking piece of news.
