Princess Xing’s Residence

“Your Highness, His Highness has come back.”

Feng Ning nodded and stood up. She walked to the main hall and watched as her husband walked through the gate. He didn’t seem to be any different from before, but Feng Ning could sense the smell of medicine from him.

For him to be wounded for so long and hadn’t healed, it must mean that his wounds were quite deep.

Upon seeing Lin Zi Xuan looking at her, Feng Ning curtsied.

Lin Zi Xuan smiled bitterly. “There’s no need for such formalities between us. Sorry for making you worry.”

Feng Ning looked at Lin Zi Xuan and rolled her eyes internally. She was not worried about him at all. As a person who could even sneak into the Capital City without anyone knowing and let Prince Lin Hu Xi become a laughing stock in the Capital City, her husband is very capable.

What was the use of her being worried?

Lin Zi Xuan ignored the others’ gaze and pulled Feng Ning’s hand. “Ben Wang is tired, accompany me to sleep, okay?”

???

Feng Ning looked at her husband and felt that he was being possessed. When did her husband learned to speak in such coquettish tone? More importantly, why did he seem to look at her so warmly?

While Feng Ning was confused, she still followed her husband to his quarter and took off her coat.

Lin Zi Xuan was tired after acting for so long, so he pulled his wife into his embrace. A warm smile formed on the corner of his lips as he looked at the young woman in front of him. “Sleep, Ning’er.”

Feng Ning nodded and buried her face.

She didn’t know what was inside his mind. Since it was the case, she would just simply take a nap and accompany him to sleep.

Hmm, she was also quite tired.

After being punished, Prince Lin Hu Xi was very silent as he didn’t dare to do anything else in fear that he would provoke other people. Many people were already making a joke out of him, causing his reputation to plummet.

But while he was toning down, there were other people who didn’t want to stay down during this period of time.

In Princess Lin Xie Ya’s Residence.

“Hou Xiang, you have to drink the medicine, alright?” Princess Lin Xie Ya looked at her son and felt her heart ached. His body was thin because he didn’t want to eat and he looked increasingly weaker as time passed by.

It was hard for her to coax him either because he would not want to respond.

And when he wanted the drugs, he would even throw things around, lost his temper, and all. Right now, he had to be tied to the bed while she forced him to drink the medicine. Without this medicine, he wouldn’t be able to recover.

However, Feng Hao Shui kept on rejecting the medicine as he just wanted the drugs. That way, his pain would be over immediately.

*sigh*

Unable to coax her son, Princess Lin Xie Ya walked out of her residence. She felt immense hatred towards her niece who dared to harm her son like this. If only Princess Lin Mei Ni didn’t give the drugs to her son, he would still be well.

Now, he looked so poor that her heart ached.

Inside the room, Prince Feng Hao Shui felt terrible. He really wanted to have more of those drugs as he felt very dizzy. His vision was a bit blurry and there was some kind of unexplained pain inside his body.

He longed for those drugs.

As fast as possible.

Kreet.

The door opened and Princess Feng Zhu Liu walked inside. She looked at her twin brother as a curt smile formed on the corner of her lips. Seeing him in such condition naturally make her happy.

His reputation was destroyed.

He wouldn’t be able to mock her for not being able to get their parent’s attention anymore.

She felt extremely elated.

“How do you feel, Imperial Brother?” Feng Zhu Liu walked inside and asked in low yet gloating tone.

Feng Hao Shui’s eyes opened. He looked at his sister and saw the latter smiling at him, mocking him for his current condition. Flame of rage burned within his heart as he struggled to release himself from the restrain.

On the other hand, Feng Zhu Liu was only watching from the side with a faint smile. She didn’t care whether he hurt himself or not.

All she cared for was that he suffered while she was fine and could see his misery.

That was more than enough.

Bang!

The door opened and Princess Lin Xie Ya rushed in. She heard struggle from here and worried that her son would hurt himself. However, the view inside stunned her instead.

She saw her own daughter laughing at her son.

That image and face was exceedingly similar to her own, especially when she recalled what she herself had done in the past in order to survive.

“Feng Zhu Liu!”

Feng Zhu Liu was startled and turned to look at her mother. She blinked her eyes and pretended to be innocent.

However, Princess Lin Xie Ya felt her heart shook. Would her daughter repeat the same thing as what she had done in the past? Was it because she had her gene that she ended up this way?

That day, Princess Feng Zhu Liu was locked out.

The next day, she was sent away to the temple while Princess Lin Xie Ya was sitting inside her room. Her body trembled as she recalled her past where she herself had tortured her other siblings in order to be able to survive.

The cycle never ended.

Now, her own daughter did the same thing to her son.

“I shouldn’t have let these girls alive.” Princess Lin Xie Ya felt her heart turned cold when she thought of her daughters.

Her first daughter, Princess Feng Quan, had already died out of illness. But Princess Lin Xie Ya herself knew that her first daughter was a bit stupid and thus unable to do anything when she was being schemed at.

Who knew whether she was actually poisoned to death or really sick?

Her second daughter, Feng Ning, was very quiet and seemed sensible. No one seemed to be able to guess what she was thinking as she was holed up in her small courtyard and Princess Lin Xie Ya was happy because she didn’t have to see the other party.

Now that she was married, Princess Lin Xie Ya naturally didn’t have to see her anymore.

Her third daughter, Feng Zhu Liu, was very smart and capable, very similar to herself. She was cunning and often made use of her twin brother to get what she wanted. Princess Lin Xie Ya thought that it was nothing more than a child’s folly and that things would get better in the future.

But she was wrong.

Seeing how Feng Zhu Liu grew up, she was reminded of herself and how she had to fight against her half siblings back then.

As women, they were all worth less than the boys. This naturally made it harder for Princess Lin Xie Ya to be able to prove that she was useful. Even her brother only make use of her as a marriage bargain.

‘Did I do something wrong?’

As Princess Lin Xie Ya was having conflict, a servant rushed in.

“Your Highness! There’s an emergency. The carriage carrying Princess Feng Zhu Liu to the temple is attacked by bandits!”
