A soft touch that rubs against my skin, this softness that I’ve never experienced before, and the refreshing scent  which  doesn’t have that damp smell.

Oh, it’s so nice, so good that my brain is about to melt.

It was enough for me to happily accept the fact that I would need to wake up soon , since it’s  morning already. But for a moment an odd question ran through my head.

‘How come there is a bed in my house?’

As soon as the thought kicked in, I immediately opened my eyes and got up with a soft bounce.

‘This is…’

A room larger than my studio, a spacious bed in the middle, a splendid chandelier hanging from the ceiling, and other colorful furniture.

The room looks kind of familiar, but no matter how much I  look  at it, this was not my room, and then the events of yesterday came into my mind like a dream.

Meeting Anastasia and jumping around together.

After that, I barely met the butler of the mansion and returned home.

‘Oh right. Yesterday I was transmigrated inside a novel.’

As I blankly looked around the room I muttered lightly.

Soon, I finally relaxed my body and lay down on the bed which  seemed like I would not fall even if I rolled three times.

‘Oh, it’s been a while since I’ve had a relaxing morning.’

There has never been a time that I could relax in the morning due to my piling debt. Even if I was very sleepy, I needed to get up and go to work at the alarm which  rang in my ears.

But now I don’t have to.

Why?

Because I’m now possessed inside a novel!

I cheered quietly and threw a pillow into the air. It fell right away and hit me in the face, but I didn’t care.

Actually, I can’t remember the title of the novel. There were too many novels that I’ve read before, and I was not the type to remember the titles of each one.

Not only that, I don’t remember the content of the story . I was always reading it before going to bed and it was  blurry like a dream, probably because I always fell asleep.

What I can only remember is that the female lead’s name is Anastasia and that there are a lot of male lead candidates in this novel.

And that Renée Blair, whom I possessed, is an indescribably old character.

‘Renee Blair.’

The female opponent with all kinds of negative modifiers/ attributes, such as the best asshole in the Konia  Kingdom, a rare crazy bitch, who viciously harassed anyone, whether it was the heroine, the Duke, or my brother.

If she doesn’t like something, the original Renee would immediately slap that person off, and it’s  a basic thing to always say swear words. And if she goes to a place with a lot of people like a banquet, she would always make a scene….

‘As expected this character is really out of her mind.’

Renee Blair, who is a crazy woman, dies in vain one day in a banquet hall.

“What was the cause of death again?”

‘Did she slap someone on the cheek?’

I can’t remember who she hit because she had hit so many people.

Anyways, her fate is nothing other than death, so I desperately  need  to change it as long as I possess  the body of Renee Blair, or I will always have to be wary of the death that will come in the future.

But I can’t  do that.

‘Considering  the future death felt trivial,as  Renée Blair is one of the most wealthy people in the Konia Kingdom!”

To the extent that, whatever she does, nobody can stop her, because she has a crazy hefty amount  of money, so even if she goes crazy, no one can touch her.

Even the King of Konia kept a close eye on Renée Blair, because of her fortune.

I can’t believe it! I really have a lot of money. Just imagining it makes  me so excited that my head stands out.

In my previous life, I had to suffer a lot because of debt, but this life has  a great fortune. God must have taken a pity on me.

“Then, what am I going to do from now on?”

I let out a sigh and fell into happy thoughts. The first thing that I needed to do right now was to stop being vicious.

Stop beating the maid, and stop attending a banquet that I’m not invited to.

And….

While I was making those plans, I suddenly remembered Anastasia whom I met yesterday.

Shiny long silver hair that was dazzling in the sun, and golden eyes that looked like they were covered with honey.

A quiet, cautious attitude and a face that looked even more pitiful because of her swollen cheeks.

The female lead, Anastasia, was strangely affectionate and my most favorite character.

‘That’s why I wanted to be close to Anastasia no matter what…’

Even if I couldn’t get close to her, all I  wanted was for her to see me in a different light, not as a vicious villain.

“Then…”

Okay, then I’ll stop being a villain right away.

‘If I’ll become nice to everyone, who knows? Maybe one of the male lead candidates would recognize this common villain, once I change my personality.’

It was that time, while I was hitting on one of the pillows  by myself.

A quiet, brief knock was heard.

I jumped out of bed and looked at the large door.

It was morning and the maid seemed to have finally arrived. For a short time, I pondered whether to use polite words to change their impression of me or not, and in the end I chose the latter.

“Hmmmm, come in!”

I was a little nervous. As soon as I decided to stop being a villain, and now I am going to meet someone who knows Renee Blair.

Soon after, the door rattled open and a maid came in. It was a young lady with black hair neatly tied up.

As if determined not to show her face, she stood in front of me with her head bowed and gaited/ trod.

‘Well, what?’

As I was contemplating on how to approach her, I noticed that the girl was shaking. It was a sight that one could predict what Renée Blair was to her.

‘No matter how good I am, my bad impression won’t change that easily.’

At that moment, the sound of a big chime kept ringing and a long beep sound echoed faintly from outside. It sounded like a bell.

At that moment, I simply disregarded that ringing sound and went to look back at the maid in front of me.

Ping.

Today’s Mission

‘Let’s slap the servant girl on the cheek.’

Accept / Reject

An insane translucent window appeared right in front of my face.

‘What the hell is this?’

I completely forgot that I was about to speak to the maid who came in, and stared blankly at the translucent window in front of me.

It was written in strange characters, but I could read it without much difficulty, no, as if it were my native language.

‘The maid’s cheek… Wait, does it mean that I need to slap it?’

Even if I rubbed my eyes or blinked multiple times, the translucent window wouldn’t disappear. As I glanced through it, I noticed the maid still bowed her head and wouldn’t move at all.

I couldn’t help it, I should ask her about it.

I coughed to get her attention.

“Ahem!”

A husky sound rang out from my throat, something that would only come from someone who had smoked cigarettes for decades.

‘Oh my, that’s so embarrassing… !’

Still, I need to get the child’s attention so that she can raise her head….

But the maid is really determined not to raise her head. As I tried to look down to see what might be interesting on the floor.

“Gasp!”

In the end, I think I raised my head too much as if I was going to vomit blood, but it didn’t  matter, since  I finally managed to get the maid’s attention.

Immediately, I pointed to the translucent window floating in the air as if asking what this was.

But no matter how much I pointed, the maid alternated between the tip of my pointing finger and my face with trembling eyes.

I narrowed my eyebrows wondering if this window could only be seen by me.

Then the maid made a shocked face.

Bang!

She suddenly knelt out of nowhere as if someone had pushed her from behind. It wasn’t just that, she didn’t stop there, but she also banged her head on the floor.

I was so surprised that I couldn’t say anything and just looked at her, and a trembling voice came out of the maid’s lips.

“Sorry, I’m really sorry. Miss! I was not good enough to understand what you’re trying to say! Please forgive me!”

I felt so embarrassed about what happened, I  vaguely  looked at her and hurriedly got up from the bed. As I grabbed the maid’s arm and pulled her up.

“What are you asking for forgiveness for? Get up now! Please stop what you’re doing, come on!”

“I’m sorry! I’m sorry. Miss! Please calm down please…”

“I’m not angry! It’s okay, just get up!”

“I’m sorry, miss! Please calm down…”

“I don’t know what you’re saying, I’m not even angry!”

She kept repeating the same thing like a parrot, so  I shouted out in frustration. The maid then flinched and began to stop her crazy actions little by little.

That’s when I realized that I became angry as well.

But, what did she mean that I’m angry? But no matter what I said she still  trembled  and she completely  laid  flat on the floor.

Let’s calm down.

My heart feels so stuffy as if I ate something that  blocked  my airway.

It would really be impossible to change my reputation just by shouting and raging like this.

So I tried to calm myself down and smiled affectionately, as if I hadn’t shouted at all. But before I can do that the maid immediately covers her face with both her hands.

It looked like she was crying without fail, so I had no choice but to stare at her without saying anything.

Soothing a crying person is always difficult.

“Miss, I’m sorry. I’m sorry that I cried.”

Hearing the maid’s sudden apology, my frustrated heart became more clogged.

“No… Why are you crying…? Because you’re scared of me?”

Changing the impression of the people around me seemed a very difficult task to achieve. So I sighed and asked her directly, but unexpectedly, the maid lowered her hands and shook her head from side to side.

“Then why are you crying?”

“… It’s that.. That..”

“What is it?”

The woman wiggled her hands and looked at me, barely answering.

“As I thought about it… My lady… As soon as you woke up, you didn’t hit me… It was the first time that it happened…”

“…….”

“It’s just I couldn’t believe it…”

As I watched her mumble carefully in a sobbing voice, I realized something.

Ah.

‘There’s really a long way to go…’
