"Activate system"

A floating screen once again appeared in front of me, I decided to check the system before heading down for lunch because I was excited when Edmon told me it was to my advantage. To be honest, even if Edmon looks suspicious, I never felt that he was lying when he told me he's some sort of guide, and I don't really feel any killing intent. As an assassin, I trust my instincts more than anyone.

I wish there was an advantage that has a connection with awakening. But why do I keep wanting to be an awakened?

An awakened can have different abilities, not only that they can heal faster than an average human/non-awakened. An example of this is if an average human got hit by a car and needs 6 months to heal all his injuries, an awakened human can heal all the same injuries an average human has within a month.

but how did we have awakened humans and why awakened humans have all these buffs? Well, about fifty years ago there was an agency that explores space to discover new things that might help humanity understand more about outer space, As astronauts were exploring mars an unknown thing suddenly appeared in front of the astronauts, they described it as a black ball it wasn't light nor heavy it looked like a touchable bubble filled with black liquid causing it to look like a black ball.

At first, astronauts were wary of it but astronauts decided to conduct a simple study and performed tests before bringing it with them to earth to avoid any accidents. After 2 years of studying it was still unknown but proven harmless to humans, they discovered that it was formed due to the atmosphere of mars and finally they were permitted to bring it to earth and conduct research. Science fanatics were extremely happy while other people said it was better untouched.

That's when it all went downhill. We can't detect mana and that ball was a ball of mana and it was black of all f*cking colors.

It all started there. The black ball reacted to the planet earth's energy causing the mana to spread, this affected 5% of the human population, and that 5% are called awakened. I mean, imagine being affected by a black ball of condensed mana from outer space. Anyone who absorbed a portion of that mana and still managed to stay alive after that would surely have changes in their body.

As always, if there's a rich then there's a poor, If there's white then there's black, If there's mana then there's a monster. Mana attracted monsters on earth which means the existence of mana in the earth made earth's presence known through the universe cause I already said, mana can only be detected by creatures who have mana.

A lot of things were unexplained even after years. like why only 5%? why did the mana ball-

I couldn't believe what I just read, this would surely help me to get strong before the crazy events that will take place soon.

I don't know how crazy things keep happening to me but this is an opportunity, I'll start with that first.

I prepared myself and decided to go down.

My heart was beating crazy knowing that I'm about to see my family for the first time in 8 years, although for them, they just saw me recently.

The stairs felt cold and my footsteps can be heard as they echoed. My hands were sweating.

I walked through the hallway and went to the dining room.

My father and brother were staring at me, It was quite obvious what they were thinking.

'does he need anything in the dining room?'

I walked gracefully and quietly sat down on the chair that was bigger than me.

"Good morning, father and brother"

Father looked lost, his mouth was slightly open and his yellow eyes looked confused while staring at me.

I almost laughed. His hair reached his shoulders and has a corporate beard, his broad shoulders and muscular body didn't suit his expression. I never expected Asven Varmon, my father, to have an expression like this.

Meanwhile, my brother, Kio Varmon, has an expression of a confused Pikachu. He has deep red eyes and black hair, his facial features were of a gorgeous vampire, and a confused Pikachu face suited him quite well.

I couldn't hold myself from laughing causing me to let a chuckle out.

"Ah, can you give me a plate of food as well? I'll be eating with father and brother from now on"

I asked the servant to bring me food too, they must've stopped serving food for 3 people because I never ate in the dining room

Why are they are still staring at me?

Realization kicked in after seconds of pondering 'shit are they still shocked because I was too polite?'

"ehem, bring it now!"

The servant moved quicker than before and carefully placed the plate in front of me.

It was rice with high-quality meat. A typical lunch.

Silence enveloped us, and the sound of the clock ticking grew loudly due to our quietness.

"Do you need anything?"

Father decided to speak up and break the silence.

"Then can I join the Forge's entrance exam next month?"

I saw the guards near the entrance of the dining room holding back their laughter.

Everybody knows one can't easily join without being an awakened and everybody knows that I'm not an awakened but of course, I'm not planning to join without being an awakened.

Forge also known as Global Academy for the Awakened it is located in the largest country in the world, Russia. Forge is an academy that helps students to unlock their full potential and a gold hiring place for guilds. It is a place where status didn't matter. An effective way of teaching and high-quality education can be assured as the higher-ups that manage the academy are all in the top 100 strongest awakened. Just thinking how hard training will be if your teachers are strong enough to collapse a building using only their strength makes you nervous. There's a 45% chance of passing the entrance exam if you're an awakened.

But since I remember future events and the system, I have an advantage. Although I only recently discovered that the system can make me an awakened

"Sure, if that's what you want"

I was surprised that my father immediately agreed without even asking why or telling me that only awakened can pass the exams.

I placed the spoon and fork I was holding in the table carefully.

"Thank you father, I'll be leaving now"

'If he came down to eat with us he probably wanted to join the forge that much, I'll ask Kio later to look for ways"

"Sure, if that's what you want"

"Thank you father, I'll be leaving now"

'This was the first time Liev thanked me, the first time Liev ate with us after turning 11. When Liev turned 11 he became easily irritated maybe because of puberty? I was really careful on approaching him'

'I don't know why Liev's like this, but he looked like a happy and bright child!'

Hah fuck I was so nervous to see my family again, they are really quiet aren't they?

I should go out and look for a place to activate the forced awakening, If it's really painful then I might scream, if I scream here people might think I'm dying.
