[Warning]

[Dungeon has evolved]

[Complete Dungeon for a larger reward]

[Failure to complete this task with result in death]

I stared up at the multiple panels, but one particular panel completely caught my attention.

[Gate has evolved into a Low S-Rank Gate]

Shit….

Click Click Click

Suddenly a loud sound echoed through the cave, and it was similar to that of metal banging against metal.

"It evolved," I inform the rest of the girls.

"Yeah, I thought so," Ethel says before swallowing a drop of saliva.

Bum Bum… Bum Bum… Bum Bum

The clicking sounds mingled with my slowly increasing heartbeat.

I had never been in an A-rank gate before, but now I was in an S-rank gate, and there was no way out.

From what I could see, this room was the entire dungeon and maybe the section past the giant hole in the roof.

Click Click Click Click

"Ready your weapons, everybody,"

But I didn't need to say that as everybody had already raised their weapons to guard themselves in case of a surprise attack.

Suddenly the silence was the only thing that could be heard.

My heartbeat seemed to be drowned out by the silence.

But each second that the skittering grew closer, I could tell these weren't any normal bugs.

"Crawlers," I muttered as soon as millions of spider-like creatures burst out from the open hole in the ceiling.

They flooded the cave almost instantly, so we all retaliated, unaware of the foggy future.

[Frozen Bone Crown]

A crown made of frozen bones landed atop my head, creating a gust of icy wind that negated everybody else's attack.

"My bad," I say before charging towards the crawlers.

They were about half my height and three times wider than me. Their body looked like a spider, but their feet were made of blades, and they had a large tail like that of a snake.

Some hissed at me while clicking their mandibles, while some just began to tap their feet in place, scratching their blades against the cold stone floor.

Krkkkkkk

Actually… Maybe this was a blessing in disguise.

The crawlers were giving a lot of XP because of the sheer amount of them.

They probably give like 0.1 each, but when I'm wiping them out by the thousands, I'm gaining lots of XP, and of course, that means more levels.

The only downside is that I'm burning through lots of mana.

KEKEKEKEKE

Suddenly a new type of crawler came flooding out of the ceiling.

The differences between the new ones and the small fry old ones are that they are bigger, and instead of a snake tail, they have scorpion tails like Arachne.

"Ack,"

I was slammed in the ċhėst by one of the new crawlers.

It wasn't even aiming for me but its body collided against mine, sending me flying across the cave.

I smashed into the stone wall and felt the bloodlust of the crawlers begin to eat away at my nerves.

"Nothing too bad," I mutter after feeling for any injuries.

FWOOSH

Another blast of icy wind swept another wave of crawlers away from me.

Mana was slipping out in between my fingers like grains of sand.

I could feel my supply quickly deplenish as I ripped the crawlers away from me.

Dammit! There are too many!

Even with the other girl's help, I struggled against the endless wave of crawlers.

BAM

I was slammed in the ċhėst once again by a snake tail, crushing me into the ground and causing thousands of crawlers to flood on top of me.

Their mandibles began to crunch through my skin, but as my skin was harder than any human, they couldn't take any large chunks.

All I could feel was searing pain, but it somehow cleared my mind.

I grabbed onto the exoskeleton of the first crawlers I saw and crushed it with my two hands, smashing its innards into nothing.

I then froze the rest of it, making sure it stayed down.

Though monsters seem like foolish things that are just out for human flesh and survival, they do feel emotions… and a feeling they are not so familiar with is…

"Fear," I mutter, balling my fist and smashing the crawler's exoskeleton next to me.

I have no choice but to reveal some of my secrets.

If I can't come up with an excuse by the end of this if we survive, then… Well, I guess we'll see what happens.

CAWWWWW

Fear, my one and only summon.

A black bird tore through the surrounding crawlers while I froze the remaining ones to death.

The crawlers, who had never felt much before, were now feeling fear.

They tried to crawl away, but we didn't let anything escape.

"LUCY! WHAT THE HELL IS THAT!" Clio shouts from across the room.

And while she was it, she applied a few buffs to me, which made my body feel lighter and my mind feel clearer.

"DON'T WORRY! I'LL TELL YOU AFTER! IT'S ON OUR SIDE, SO DON'T WORRY!" I shout back before seeing another wave of a thousand crawlers flood the cave.

Our future was looking bad as we were all cornered, and even Fear was overwhelmed, turning into light that was absorbed back into my body.

Aria was probably doing the best as she sat on the soldier of her light knight and let the dark knight, which apparently is stronger in the dark, do all the work.

But, the knight's stamina and mana are Aria's stamina and mana, so even though she was the most out of danger, she was the closest to passing out.

Suddenly a jolt of lighting ran through the air.

My hair lifted up a bit before a crash of thunder rang through the cave.

CRACK

It split apart half the wave of crawlers, letting us back up a bit.

"Thanks," We all say to Sophia, who just passed out due to overexertion.
