"We're going to retrieve it,"

"Ah… Well, I wish you good luck on your journey. You will always have my blessing, no matter what you do," The old lady says, once again with a warm smile that makes Clio and Celestine hang their heads in sorrow.

"Shit," Celestine mutters as a trail of blood draws from her lip.

The old lady then began to fade out of existence, with her furniture and tap, as if it was never there in the first place.

Everybody present was so shocked by what had just unfolded before us that it took a few minutes before I could mutter something.

"What the hell was that?"

"My grandma… on my mom's side," Celestine says.

"Maybe becoming a monster wasn't a good idea," Clio mutters as her face was extremely pale.

"Well, it's not like it is our fault. Since Lucy was a monster, we got dragged into her shit, so doesn't that mean it's her fault," Celestine says as she glares at me, but I stared back at her, unwavering.

"Please don't make a fool of yourself,"

"What do you mean?" Celestine asks as she stands up and grabs my collar.

"It took me a while to find the answer to this one question… What is the difference between a monster and a dungeon runner?"

"Stop spouting bullshit,"

Celestine was biting down onto her bottom lip so hard I could hear the tearing of her flesh.

"I'm not spouting bullshit. And I just want to say… you're not angry at becoming a monster, physically, but mentally, so stop making a fool of yourself,"

"What do you know about me?" Celestine asks, her eyebrows furrowed in anger.

"Everything. I know everything about you, but know nothing about the things surrounding you,"

"Let me bring back my previous question… What is the difference between a monster and a dungeon runner? Well, it's obvious, isn't it? Their appearance, right?"

"It's not just their damn appearance," Celestine says.

"It is just their appearance. Their mentality is the same… I would've never been able to answer this question if we never ran into those two intelligent monsters… or if we ever visited that underground city,"

"You're making no sense,"

"So, let me gather everything together. Everybody here was already to commit such inhumane acts… even if we never became monsters. Is that due to your parents? The way you were raised? Your friends? Who knows… But I want you two to know that your cold and monstrous mentality has always been there, and your evolution has nothing to do with the way you are now,"

Everyone was quiet.

"Woooowwww… So inspirational," Electra groans as she holds her stomach.

"So, please don't blame it on me when I, and even you know, that you're like this because of yourself,"

Celestine was still angry, but I could see tears welling up in the corners of her eyes as she tightly gripped my collar.

Over the time we've been together, I've observed all the girls carefully.

It was exhausting, but now I can win verbal skirmishes like these while also helping the girls develop themselves into better people.

"Hick… Hick… Hick,"

Celestine began to cry into my collar so I hugged her while petting her hair slowly, while also bringing us down to the hard, stone floor.

"Ugh… Shit… She's going to make me cry," Clio mutters as she holds her forearm over her eyes.

"I can't see my family anymore…." Celestine muttered.

"You can if you want,"

"No… I've fully become a monster,"

"Care to share why you became this way? Maybe you'll feel better after explaining,"

Celestine glances at Clio, who just stared deeply into her eyes, without much expression.

"It's up to you… But I think I'll step out for a bit. I don't want to hear it again… Unless Lucy is willing to hug me as well," Clio says with a cheeky smile.

"Hell no,"

"I was just joking," She chuckled before stepping outside.

I then signaled for the other girls to leave, leaving me with just myself and Celestine, who sat in my ŀȧp, laying her body against me while gripping my sleeve.

"Our dad was abusive, especially to our moms,"

"Oh, your family was a harem?"

"Yeah… And it wasn't the best as all the pressure was on our father to make the best decisions… So he was stressed most of the time, and guess who he took it out on?"

"Your mothers?"

"Yep… But, one day, my mother came up to me with a wide smile and said that we could finally take a trip, just the two of us, to Egypt where we could visit her family. You don't know excited I was then… but it ended up being one of the worst weeks of my life,"

Celestine bit her lip once again, but I rubbed her lip, causing her to release.

"That's a bad habit… Look, your lips have been scarred already,"

"Okay… So, when we went on the trip, I had fun at first, but then our father found out about our trip and eventually began to scold my mom, telling her how she was abandoning the family. She didn't intentionally tell me, but I could tell she was suffering in silence from her actions. Eventually, our father actually ended up coming, and as we were strolling through this town, he began to choke out my mother,"

"Why would he come so far just to choke your mother?" I asked as his actions made no sense.

"Well, eventually, he ended up just straight hating my mother and would harass and bully her endlessly, especially after I became the first in line for inheritance… He loved Clio very much, and even after she stepped down, he still favored her, but I never resented her as I hated my father just as much as he hated me,"

"I see… So what happened next?"

"My mother fought back, but that just made him angrier, so he eventually ended up breaking one of her arms. We were walking with my grandma who you just saw, and so she stepped in and fought back against him… She won, but she ended up with a fatal wound that caused her to lose most of her power… But my father wasn't done yet,"

Celestine's expression shifted to one of anger as more tears poured from her eyes, so I stroked her slowly, calming her down a bit.

"The next day, he came back, fully rejuvenated as it seems he brought Clio's mom with him who was an amazing healer… and he also brought Clio as well. With my grandma weakened and my mother still recovering from her broken arm, which I slowly started to heal, I felt hopeless… Until Clio stepped in. She stood in front of me, my mother, and my grandma, and even when my father slapped her, she stood her ground…."

Wow… What an unexpected turn of events… It almost sounds like a fantasy story, but instead of a prince, it's her cousin.

"He eventually gave up, but from then on, when we returned to New York, Clio would be shunned as a failure for the rest of her time there. I would eventually end up following her and admiring her even more,"

"Very nice story. But, your father is dead now…."

"I know… but my mother is dead as well,"

"That may be true, but be thankful you still have Clio, who has been by your side the entire time… You did great…." I ȧssured her as I used [Aurora Borealis].

The hot and dry air around us slowly cooled, causing Celestine's eyes to droop as she was utterly exhausted from her PTSD.

"It's okay… It's okay," I muttered as I slowly stroked her air.

"Thank you for listening to me," Celestine says as she gives me a kiss on the cheek before falling asleep.

What a cute little sister…

Suddenly, I felt a blast of bloodlust come from outside the door, and when I looked up, I saw Clio peaking her head inside the sandstone house.

"Y-you bitch… How dare you take Celestine away from me," Clio seemingly shouts, but her voice was quiet as if she was whispering.

I just stuck my tongue out at her before continuing to stroke her hair.

"Come here~ Big sister will take care of you~," Clio says as she picks Celestine up by the armpits and places her in her own ŀȧp.

We had also moved back to our apartment, which was very fancy.

With the sales of Ethel's clothing line, we were pretty much filthy rich… of course, Ethel is paying us a salary for doing nothing… and she is making most of the money, but combined, we're still very wealthy.
