"Mistress, the people are going to hate you," My servant says.
"That's fine… Most S-ranks are hated anyway, so it won't make a difference," I muttered before hopping onto the receptionist counter.
Now, let's conquer these thugs.
"Now, all of you return to your base. And one of you, give me your phone numbers so I can text you. Also, the civilians outside, I don't care if you spread shit about me," I shout, and one of the thugs throws their phone at me.
I caught it and input the number into my phone before glancing at my maid, who was ready to attend to anything I wanted or needed.
"Follow them," I whisper to her, and she immediately bows as the thugs all exit the building, still a bit frightful of me as I stare them down.
…
"So, how was it?" Mia asks.
"Pretty good, but I do see that most of the civilians don't like dungeon runners here… Is there a reason?" I turn to Clio and Celestine, who both shrug cluelessly.
"Maybe something happened while we were away. But anyway, let's go to the pyramids after we get some more supplies… These inventories are helpful," She mutters as she takes out a bread roll from her inventory and throws it at Electra, who devoured it like a dog.
Geez…
Soon, we made our way back out of the apartment after I paid for the minor damages and began to walk towards the first magic item shop we saw.
Sadly, the apartments didn't come with a computer, so we couldn't utilize the teleportation function, but that didn't matter as in real-life shopping is much more fun.
"Are you going to make magic gear?" Nuala asks as we all sifted through the piles on piles of gear necessary to survive in a dungeon for a few days.
I sacrificed pretty much everything in my inventory, so I also needed to restock on supplies.
"No. That's too much work," Ethel responds as she browses through the collection of bows but was extremely disappointed.
After only a few minutes of shopping, we had found everything we needed and made our way towards the grocery store as we needed some food.
There aren't many restaurants out in the desert, so taking food was necessary; otherwise, we'd obviously starve to death.
Soon, we felt the chilly breeze of the grocery store and made split up to find the food we wanted… but Electra ended up coming with me for some reason.
"I'm just getting steak… do you just want steak?"
"Nope, but shouldn't we only take non-perishable foods? They're going to go bad after just a few hours without refrigeration," Electra commented.
"Oh, the inventory basically stops time inside itself. None of the food will go bad,"
Her eyes suddenly sparkled brighter than any star in the solar system as she split up from me and dashed towards the pastry section.
Wait… I shouldn't have told her that.
And what I was worried about came true as I saw Electra's bill…
"Come on… You can't blow a few thousand dollars on food,"
"Yes, I can,"
Every single one of us deadpanned as the cash register shook from the aura of Electra's debit card, which practically screamed to not be swiped.
The tension in the air grew with Electra's excitement.
I could feel my heart about to jump out of my chest.
"Thank you very much," Electra says as she takes the storage ring and her debit card before throwing it back into her purse.
Ugh… This girl is so irresponsible.
And as soon as we left the store, I glanced back at the cashier who had fainted and was receiving emergency medical attention.
"This power… it is that of the gods," She mutters, reaching for the ceiling as if she is reaching for the light at the end of the tunnel.
We all chuckled to ourselves while Electra began to snack on an entire loaf of bread as we made our way to the slums.
It took another few hours as we visited a few more grocery stores, but eventually, we reached the desert.
It was hot.
We were sweaty.
And the pyramids stood as tall and as firm as ever in the distance.
"Those things are massive," I muttered, adjusting my sunglasses while riding on Mia's shoulders.
"HUFF HUFF… *wheeze*... Lucy… You're too hea-"
SMACK
"I am not heavy,"
"Yes, ma'am,"
"Ethel… I want to ride on your back. It's too hot," Nuala complained, pouring out tons of water from her inventory and chugging it down.
It was definitely very hot. The hottest we have ever been, in fact.
"Lucy… Can you please use your ice or something?" Nuala begs, Amanda and Aria nodding vigorously in agreement.
"No, this is good training,"
"You're not even walking though. Plus, you're immune to the heat and cold, so that's not fair," Amanda complains before taking off her slides and shaking all the sand out of them.
She also began to hop around like a weirdo due to the blazing hot sand her feet were standing bare on.
"We should go to the beach," Clio suggests.
"That would be nice. A trip to the beach… the cool water… We should go to the Bahamas! I want to go scuba diving!" Electra shouts before tripping on nothing.
Her face ate a face full of sand, and we were all surprised she didn't end up eating the sand that accidentally got in her mouth.
"The Bahamas sounds nice… But I heard a few dungeons appeared underwater there, and clearing them has been a pain due to one of the monsters releasing an invisible poison into the water," I say, instantly shooting down their idea.
"Way to kill the mood," Electra mutters as she catches back up to us.
After a few hours of complaining and Nuala fainting from the heat multiple times, we finally arrived at a pyramid… which was so much bigger than I initially thought.
Each separate stone block that had been baked in the heat, was about three times the height of me.
"Holy… shit," I muttered as I trailed my eyes all the way up to the peak.
