The feeling of mana draining from my body like a hole in a bucket was so painful, but I just grit my teeth before pushing up with my arms.

"GIRLS! DO SOMETHING, DAMMIT!" I shout, and all of a sudden, the blood tree below us shot towards Anubis, piercing a massive hole through his head.

"Bird… Why won't you tell me… WHY WON'T YOU TELL ME?!"

All of a sudden, the gaping hole in Anubis regenerated, and his jackal head had distorted into an expression filled with rage.

"I already said I have no clue who you are," I muttered as I sat down on the ground, trying to regenerate my mana as quickly as possible.

But, Anubis suddenly shrank and then appeared behind us with something akin to teleportation.

It was instant, and none of us could react in time as I felt two hands wrap around my face and then pull me backward, but instead of falling down onto the blood tree, I kept falling and falling, until…

SPLASH

"*gasp*,"

I gasped for air as I flailed my arms around, trying to stay afloat in the massive river, which seemed to stretch for infinity.

I quickly looked around and noticed a war was happening on both sides, and to reinforce the idea of the war was the water around me which had been littered with corpses.

The water was filled to the brim with thick blood, but as the river was so long, the water wasn't really red, but more of a pinkish color.

"KILL! CHARGE! TAKE NO PRISONERS AND SLAUGHTER EVERYBODY!" I hear a man shout from atop one of the sides of the river.

"BIRD!" I heard somebody cry out, and all of a sudden, I was ripped into the air by a pair of jaws that latched onto my stomach.

CAWWWW

Just as I tried to scream out in pain, a strange sound, like a bird crying out in the clear blue sky, cried out.

I glanced down at my body and noticed that I had a snake-like body with two massive white bird wings that flapped up and down.

But, I had to escape these jaws first, and a sudden burst of knowledge flooded my mind, causing spears of green flames to appear in the air.

They then stabbed into the jaws, allowing me to slither out and get a good look at the jackal who was bloodthirsty and trying to attack me.

"WHY WOULD YOU EVER BETRAY US!" The jackal, who was as big as me, shouts.

As soon as he landed back on the ground, he crouched down once again to jump again, but I had already escaped far from him.

I was confused, dazed, and unaware of what was happening.

"BIRD!" The same voice shouted, and all of a sudden, I felt the space around me distort, and I appeared back on the blood tree, everybody around me unconscious.

The half-human, half jackal, stood above me, his golden eyes glowing brightly.

"Now, do you remember?" Anubis asked, but I just shook my head side to side.

"No," I muttered.

"*sigh*... Wait… What is your name?"

"Lucy Amana,"

"Amana? Like Quetzal Amana?" He asked, but I tilted my head as I was confused as to what he was trying to say.

"Who is that?" I asked, and I could see Anubis also tilt his head in confusion.

"Tch… So you're his descendant," He muttered before glancing back, and all of a sudden, I saw him drop to his knees.

"Hehehehe…. I got him… Geez… That was painful," I heard a familiar voice, and once Anubis fell flat on his face, I saw Mia behind him, grabbing his ankle while holding a mirror in the other hand.

"Ugh… What the hell is happening," I muttered before feeling the world spin.

…

(Clio POV)

I awoke in a sandy plain, not that different from the one I had previously seen, and sat up from my seated position.

"So weak," A deep voice says, and as I was all too familiar with it, I jumped up and spun around, readying my fists beside me.

My eyes immediately landed on the half-human half jackal who stared at me with golden glowing eyes, and his aura was so intimidating I felt like throwing up.

"Where the others?" I asked, feeling a drop of sweat run down the side of my face.

"I am the one asking questions," He says before lifting up a golden staff and slamming it on the sand below us.

A massive palace made from sandstone was erected around the both of us, but only he was lifted up above me into a massive gold thrown.

"Now… if you beat my trial, I shall answer three questions and send you away with a prize… Of course, I don't expect you to live," He says before slamming his golden staff against the ground once again.

The palace shook in fear as an endless amount of skeletons appeared beside me.

"Is this some sorta weird porno?" I muttered as I felt another drop of sweat run down the side of my cheek.

ROOOOAAR

The skeletons made a loud roaring noise as I swiftly evaded one of their punches and ran up its arm.

But just as I was about to pull a massive hammer out of my inventory, the skeleton jolted its arm up, throwing me across the room.

BAM

I smashed against one of the sandstone pillars and immediately coughed up a few mouthfuls of blood.

My defense was so extremely low… well, all of my stats were so extremely low.

"DAMMIT!" I shout before quickly recovering and dodging another bony hand that smashed the sandstone pillars into pieces.

But, before it could pull its arm back, I took a massive sledgehammer out of my inventory and slammed it against the bony hand.

It shattered into a million pieces while I jumped backward, dodging yet another skeletons punch.

"You fucking dog," I muttered before running around the giant skeletons.
