A/N -  I am not an expert at gambling, so if I get something wrong, please forgive me.

*****

"This place is pretty small," I muttered as we walked through a marketplace inside the slums.

Everybody here was sketchy, and thankfully Sophia wasn't here; otherwise, she'd definitely fall for another bait.

And I could see Astra was thankful as well.

"My cute girlfriend would've been a goner," She muttered, and we soon ran into a few bandits.

They were the usual, which we encountered thousands of times in the underground city, so we took them into an alleyway, beat them up a bit, and told them to take us to their boss.

It took a bit of back and forth to actually convince them as it seems they were ready to die, but after Mia kicked them in the family jewels a couple of times, they immediately ran for their boss.

"I guess this is good enough," I muttered as we followed the men.

We arrived quickly at their base, which was a gambling den for not only the bandits but for the citizens of the slums… though I could tell the dealers were completely rigged.

There is a power stone that focuses on gambling, but there are some power stones that can be used as an advantage.

Support stones are the best bet as they can increase your mental power and also your five senses.

You can also slightly dull the other's senses, so getting away with it is much easier.

"Mia, can you give us another appearance? I want to have a bit of fun," I asked the girl beside me, and she shrugged.

We all took the form of men, but she forgot to make us more grueling and ugly… because we all looked like princes out of a fairy tale.

"You could've given us less baggy clothes," Ethel mutters, her voice significantly deeper.

We also all kept our same height, so identifying each other wasn't that difficult.

"Heh," I smirked at Clio, whose chest was flatter than mine now.

She clicked her tongue before immediately sitting down at a stool and gesturing for a few cards.

She then pulled out a wad of cash from her inventory which was placed inside her pants pocket and slammed it down on the gambling table.

This particular table was playing blackjack, and just as the dealer throughout a few cards, a dozen bandits came from the back room and began to search the place.

We were given a few glares of jealousy before the bandits passed by us, trying to find our previous forms.

After seeing the bandits leave the vicinity, we walked over to the table Clio was playing at and immediately noticed the dealer had already given one of the gamblers a twenty-one.

It was so obvious that I think even the other gamblers who weren't power stone users noticed the cheat… so then why didn't they speak up?

I mean, it was pretty simple, really… It seems they wanted to suck the gang's dick so they could potentially get in and maybe receive a power stone.

"Hit," Clio says, and a card was tossed at her… and unsurprisingly, she busted, but she wasn't done yet as she quickly shifted her card next to the edge of the table and then traded it with a king.

She traded it using her inventory which just slotted the card in and took the other card away into the abyss of her inventory.

"I'll stay," She mutters, and the gambler was terrible at hiding his shock.

She chuckled a bit, and just after everybody stayed with their cards, they flipped them over, revealing two twenty-ones.

"Oh, you're pretty good," The gambler who got the immediate twenty-one says.

"Here you go," The dealer says, doubling her cash, but she wasn't done as she went all in again, and she couldn't contain her smile.

Seems she's having tons of fun.

I felt kind of bad for these guys as they're about to get all their money sucked out of them.

After a few minutes, the dealer once again tossed out two cards, one face up and one face down.

And it looks like the dealer was getting impatient and even wanted to taunt her as he tossed out two aces for her.

She could only select convert the aces into a two; otherwise, she busts, so she hits again and again.

Each time, she only went up by a few, and upon getting to nineteen, the dealer threw out a king, so she rolled her eyes and then adjusted her cards a bit, replacing the three with a five.

"Stay," She muttered, and the dealer squinted his eyes.

Soon, everybody around her busted, including the man, and once she flipped over her cards, three swords were placed against her neck… er- his deck…

"We will now have to escort you out as cheating is forbidden here," One of the bandits speaks up, slowly pressing his sword against her neck… but no blood was drawn.

Her new evolution increased her stats by quite a large margin, so no weak sword like that was even going to lay a scratch on her.

"How was I cheating?" She smirks, and it seems the bandits weren't having any of it, so they cocked the swords back and swung at her neck.

TING

But, she blocked it with a pair of daggers that looked to be made from the bones of monsters.

They curved in, in a grotesque way that made the surrounding bandits want to puke.

"Is that all you got?" She asks before swinging her daggers once… but nothing happens, causing the bandits to smile maliciously at her... er- him.

"You've got some guts bo-"

A sprinkle of sand landed on my face and with the sand, landed a drop of blood.

SHING

Every bandit around us had their heads cut off, their blood spewing across the normal slum civilians.

"AHHHHHH!" I heard a woman scream at the top of her lungs.

"Tasty," I heard Clio mutter as she licked her dagger, which began to form into a small sickle.
