BEEP BEEP… BEEP BEEP

Did I ever say that I hate alarms? (A/N - Don't worry Lucy, you're not the only one)

Last night, I asked one of the maids for a new alarm which they happily complied.

"*sigh* I forgot that I need to buy a phone," I mutter into my pillow.

The warm blanket tried to hold me back from getting out of my bed, so it took me much longer than anticipated… 10 minutes… it took me 10 minutes to get out of bed.

I put on some new clothes today, which were white sweatpants with green tassels and a baggy, white t-shirt that said "019" in green… I thought it looked pretty cool.

As soon as I finished changing, I checked my computer since I still had about 2 more hours until I had to get to school.

As soon as the screen loaded, I opened the Lucky browser and typed in "Magicgear.com" once again. First, I had to buy a phone so I typed in the latest model and instantly ordered it. It was about 4,200 US dollars.

Phones have evolved greatly over the years and the one I just ordered was a pen. It looked just like any normal white pen, but once you click the bottom of it, it will then display a holographic screen in front of you.

I also ordered a small string woven from a chimera lion's main so I can hang it around my neck.

I grabbed both items from the teleporter, tied the string inside the hole at the bottom of the pen, then wrapped it around my neck.

"Now it's time to see if anybody bought it,"

I clicked on my account and went to my selling tab. My jaw instantly dropped once I saw what had happened to my item… it was now on an auction.

There is only one way your item can be forcefully put on an auction. Multiple big families have to send complaints to the company about a single item that they couldn't obtain. I couldn't believe my eyes.

To be honest, it wasn't even that special. All you could do was resurrect snakes but for some families that own snake-related dungeons, then I guess this could be useful.

"The auction is… this Saturday... so tomorrow. I have nothing else to do besides going to a dungeon and leveling up, so there's no reason for me not to go,"

I click on the item and check the location of the auction. I wasn't very surprised when it said that it was taking place at the largest auction facility in New York. This also means that I can get the special membership for them since it says the starting price will be 2 Billion US dollars.

If your product attracts a large audience especially with large families, you can automatically obtain their highest membership as thanks. I haven't read much about it, but I should be able to enter the auction house whenever I want without paying a fee, as well as getting early access to un-released items.

I only smiled as I heard a knock on my door, notifying me that breakfast is ready.

I was currently walking to school without a care in the world. I made sure to cover up all evidence of James's death like burning his ashes to nothing. There was no way they could find out unless they bring in somebody that has a truth or lie power stone.

I've heard they exist but it seems a bit too specific for it to be real. Most of the time, power stones are under a certain category. Fire is related to fire and heat manipulation. Water is related to water and ice manipulation. Plant is related to plant and growth manipulation. Healing is related to, well… healing. Summoning is related to summoning, taming, and necromancy.

Finally, there was the 2 special categories, dark and light manipulation. Light is related to light, support buffs, Illusions, and some think that healing falls under the light category, but there are so many different types of healing stones, that they just made healing its own category.

Now, dark is related to shadow, poison, and death. Dark powers are usually banned or illegal in most countries due to the potency of some of them. Shadow is somewhat accepted because it is the perfect power for ȧssassins but poison and death are illegal throughout the world.

The amount of poison power users that gave been found can only be counted on one hand, but there has been only one death user in the world. The situation was pretty cliche since the death user appeared when the 6 Primordial Braves had just been created.

He caused mass genocide across the world, even turning some countries into wastelands that haven't recovered to this day. He was not only able to kill people on a large scale, but also kill animals, plants, or just anything living in general.

Eventually, he was put to a stop by the 6 Primordial Braves with the brave of light leading the charge. In fact, if it wasn't for him the other braves might've been wiped out since during the battle, he found out something special about his stone.

Before he was only able to manipulate and bend light like every other light-related stone until the battle with the death user. Apparently, he was able to manipulate shadows as well since shadows still have light. The thing that defines a shadow is the low light level, which means even shadows have light.

With his newfound power, he was able to use both polar opposite abilities to take down the death user. I don't know what happened to him after that, but he should've been able to use his shadow ability for a bit longer since shadow powers weren't so heavily restricted yet.

"Finally here," I mutter.

Before I knew it, I was already at the hell, nicknamed school. The entire school seemed to have a heavy air to it as if something terrible had happened… well something terrible did happen.

As soon as I walked through the grand arch that was the gateway to school grounds, I was stopped by a few government dungeon runners. They were two tall men, wearing neat tuxedos, and sunglasses that obviously stated that they are here for business.

"Excuse me, have you seen this boy anywhere," says one of the men while pulling out his phone which displayed a picture of James.

I cringed at how pure he seemed in the picture. If you don't know his real side, you would've thought he was a nice kid judging from the picture displayed. Both of his parents were behind him while he wore a huge, wholesome smile.

"Nope," I say.

The other man stares at me long and hard before letting me pass.

Yeah, I only know the tyrannical James that bullies everybody in school. The kid I saw in that picture was not the James that I knew.

"A-are you the one responsible for James's disappearance?" Mia asks me with a shaky voice.

The morning had already passed and I was spending my lunch under a tree. The infirmary was closed since the nurse wasn't there. Probably trying to help find or solve the disappearance of James.

"Ever heard of how curiosity killed the cat?" I asked while pulling out my pen phone and throwing the last piece of sandwich in my mouth.

"W-what do you mean?"

"*sigh* just go away," I say, checking on the status of my power stone.

Seems the date hasn't changed. I probably need to hide my identity so I'll buy a mask while I'm at it… why isn't this girl leaving.

"I-I really need to know. He was my fiance and my family really wants me to marry him so both families could finally join together," Mia says with her face growing more bitter by the second.

"And what if I killed him? Would people believe me or you for the matter?" I say coldly, scrolling through the selection of masks.

"S-so you-"

"Fuck off," I interrupt Mia.

"Y-you bitch! H-how dare you-"

"I-I'm sorry," Mia says, quickly walking away while putting on her usual arrogant expression.

"That creeps me out. How do they change their expression and mood so fast… Oh, this should be a good mask,"

I bought a white, upper face mask that had the shape of a bird's head. The beak tilted down to where it covered part of my mouth. Finally, the eye sockets were filled in with a black gem that you can only see through one way.

"I'm getting kind of excited…"
