The icicle that formed in Auntie's hand started to barrel towards me. I was bȧrėly able to lean my head out of the way, receiving a slight cut across my cheek.
I was shocked. I was confused. I was scared.
"A-Auntie?"
I swept my eyes back towards Auntie and saw her cold but mostly lifeless eyes. A slight shiver ran down my spine as I looked up and saw hundreds of icicles ready to fire at me.
Instinctively, I tried to run out of the alleyway, but a massive ice wall was erected in front of me with a swipe of Aunties finger.
[Lesser Quetzalcoatl's Ancient Fire (Black Lava)]
Black flames with stripes of rainbow leaked from my mouth and then, in the next instant, exploded towards the wall of ice. I kept checking the floating icicles and Aunite, who was just standing still.
The flames died down with a snap, but there was no hint of melting on the thick wall of ice.
In my moment of shock, hundreds of icicles rained down on me. I squeezed my eyes tight and waited for the pain.
But nothing happened.
I slightly opened my eyes only to see that my limbs were locked in place by the icicles. I couldn't move, speak, and I was even having trouble breathing.
My eyes scanned around, and I saw the same tanned woman from before. Auntie was standing right in front of her, lifelessly. She seemed like a puppet whose strings hadn't move yet.
"Nice job! Well, it's time to go now," The woman says, walking towards me.
"What did you do to Auntie?!" I shout.
"Oh, why should I tell you?"
tsk
Before the woman could grab me, I used my necklace to teleport to Iceland.
I blinked, and once I opened my eyes, I was in Iceland. Thankfully the ice didn't come with me, so I was able to process what just happened.
Something happened to Auntie after she sent me flying. Her eyes were cold, but they weren't like when shes in a fight; they seemed lifeless. Her eyes looked dead, but her skin was flush with color, and there were no signs of rotting like when somebody uses a Necromancy power stone on another human.
"Mind control, maybe? Do mind control power stones even exist? I've never heard about them before?"
Multiple guesses that weren't that hard to come up with floated through my mind. The most reasonable one that I thought of would be a chip inside her brain that controls her mind… but still, I haven't seen that before. I don't even know how that would work, but it does seem possible in this day and age.
"Damn, I need to stay on guard from now on. Just one moment of carelessness will kill me,"
But there's also Auntie. There's no way I can save her as I am now…
"FUCK!" I shout at the top of my lungs.
"There's only one way, and that's to grow stronger then… am I right?" I mutter, holding back tears.
Multiple negative emotions swirled within me that was almost impossible to contain. If I didn't have mastery over my emotions, I would've quickly gone on a rampage and destroyed half of the island.
"Shit… this sucks..." I mutter, tears flowing down my face.
…
For the next three days, time flowed slowly. Even though I knew Auntie wasn't dead, I felt distraught when I remembered her lifeless eyes.
'Does anybody know what the answer to number 5 on the Dungeon History test is?' Clio says through our Pseudo-Hivemind.
'It's B…' I respond monotonously.
'Thanks!' Clio responds.
I was currently sitting in fourth period, bored out of my mind. I finished the test years ago, and now I'm forced to sit with my thoughts which is the last thing I want to right now.
"Alright, that is it for today. If you haven't finished the test, then stay in your seat since you will be finishing it during lunch," The professor says.
I eyed Clio, who just submitted her test through the tablet. She returned my gaze as we both nodded our heads at the same time.
Today was Thursday and the day of the raid/infiltration.
"Okay, I have the masks. But first, we have to leave school, which isn't that hard during lunchtime," Mia says.
During lunchtime, you can leave campus and get food from a restaurant. So, we decided to do this and eat lunch while making our plan.
We left campus without a lick of suspicion on us. Making our way to a pizza place, Clio kept complaining about how hard the test was. To be honest, she would've had to stay behind if it wasn't for me giving her most of the answers.
We continued to ignore her complaints as we entered a local pizza shop and got a table of 12. Without hesitation, one of the waiters came over and took our orders which, of course, consisted of pizza.
"Are you sure we should be discussing our plan here?" I ask Mia.
"Talk as if we are having a conversation normally, but then use the pseudo-hivemind to say our real thoughts," she responds.
That's going to be a pain, but I guess it's the only way.
We then started to discuss the plan. Our main goal was to kill the members of the Write family residing within the mansion and kill as least bodyguards as possible. We need them to report the incident; otherwise, this would've been for naught.
Infiltration will first be started with a distraction, drawing out most guards. We'll do that by Charna setting explosives around the back of the mansion, drawing most of the guards back there.
They'll brainstorm many of the causes, and they'll most likely conclude with the explosion being a distraction, causing all the guards to head towards the front, including the ones in the back.
'Hehehe… and that's when we enter through the back?'
'Yeah, but are you sure the bodyguards will come to that conclusion?'
'About… 75% sure… we just need to give them enough time,'
Amanda also added that we should set some explosives near the front and set them off once the bodyguards go to the front. This will give them another reason to protect or stay in the front of the mansion.
"Okay, who is paying the bill?" I ask.
"Electra should. This fatass bought the most food,"
"Tch, whatever. It's not like I can get fat anyway,"
'Wait, what are we going to do about the golden sun pupil. I feel we should take it before we raid the mansion just for extra insurance,'
'I've been waiting for you to say that,'
'We couldn't have done it yesterday since Celestine had to go early,'
We walk down the gritty sidewalk and head towards my apartment. If we started melting the two pupils in an alleyway, we'd look like drug addicts to the onlookers.
We soon entered my cold apartment and went towards the elevators. Thankfully there were more than two elevators, so all of us could arrive at my floor at the same time. I directed the group towards my room while I tried to avoid looking at Aunty's old room.
"You gotta pretty nice room," Nell says.
"Mhmm… alright, let me get the pupils. They should be in… here," I say, opening a closet near my kitchen.
I pull out the two massive golden pupils and place them on the coffee table. We all sit around it on the fluffy carpet that I bought online.
Mia lit a blue fire on her fingertip and slowly started to melt the first pupil. Smoke was coming out of it, so I was forced to open the massive windows next to us.
"You sure we're not going to get suċkėd out of the apartment. That's a massive hole in your apartment right there," Nuala says.
I just shrug off Nuala's stupid comment and make sure all the smoke leaves the open window.
The melted pupil was being kept in Clio's storage box because it was starting to melt my wooden coffee table. The Brollet girls helped suppress any flames that were beginning to kindle on my living room floor.
After about 10 minutes of slowly melting the two pupils, we finally had 12 glasses filled with a golden liquid. Since the girls didn't want to burn their mouths, we waited for a bit, letting the golden liquid cool off.
"What are we going to do about tardiness for class? The school might investigate us since we were coincidentally out of class when one of the Write family members was killed," Aria asks.
"Remember we have extended lunch. That's another reason why I picked this day. The school has been building another training building for more "PE" classes," Mia says, using air quotes.
"I see… well, it seems to have cooled off," Aria says, bringing the glass to her lips.
"Wait. Are you sure we can drink it as a liquid? Aren't we supposed to swallow it as a pure powder?" Amanda asks.
"Guess we're going to find out soon," I say, drinking the entire glass in one go.
The rest of Tolf did the same, so Amanda, of course, followed.
My body started to warm up, but that was about it. Nobody else had an extreme reaction, so we all shrugged our shoulders and waited for a bit longer.
