"*yawn*... So sleepy," I mutter, feeling the warmth of Mia sink deeper into me.
"You can go to sleep if you want… I'll inform you of what happened after," Mia says, stroking my hair.
"*yawn*... I'm fine… I think I should cut my hair. It's getting too long," I mutter.
"Hmmm… Lucy with short hair, how would that look?"
"We'll see," I mutter before directing my attention at the screen once more.
What was displayed on the drone was William, who was clearly struggling against a woman clad in black, zipping around the hallway. She used a shadow-related power stone and synced up her 2 daggers with her out-of-the-way movements.
Even for an ȧssassin, her flexibility was through the roof. Every time William tried to attack with his sword, she would unnaturally bend her body and then counter.
William, who was about 5'10 in height, flush white skin, spiky black hair, black eyes, and a slightly toned body, was breathing heavier than before. His swings were becoming less calculated and matched more of a beast than man.
And when you swing your weapon randomly, you start to use up more stamina. I mean, he wasn't out of shape, but since he was panicking, his attacks were using up much more energy than necessary.
"Seems we're going to have our first loser," Clio says.
"Well, wait. He might pull something out of his ȧss," Celestine refutes.
"You know, I'll tell you something that can counter these types of shadow users," Charna says.
Everybody turns their heads, giving their full attention to Charna, who sat with her arms crossed.
"Most people don't know this, but when a shadow user travels through shadows, they have to actually know where they want to appear. So what I mean by this is that they have to look at their destination before slipping into the shadows… but for me, since I have a high-level shadow power stone, I don't need that, and with a bit of training, I'm now able to grasp where I am in just a few seconds," Charna explains.
Everybody nods their head, getting the gist of why Charna explained the skill… it was an advantage that William could use if he realized it.
Looking back at the screen, I could see William was running away in fear. It was a pitiful sight that made me grimace in disgust.
I don't mind running away but try and know where you want to run away to. If you're running away from your opponent, they'll eventually catch up due to your panicked state…
And William seemed to be punished for his actions as he was kicked in the back, slamming his face into the marble floor. Just as the lady clad in black went for the finishing blow, it was blocked by a black cleaver.
It was Abigail as she had just saved William in time. William was shaking in fear as Abigail stared down at him in disgust. She was clearly disappointed by William's pitiful actions.
"Oh, an injured lady has scampered over here," The lady clad in black says.
"Here, take my other cleaver and help me kill this woman," Abigail says, ignoring the lady's snarky remark.
"B-but she's too strong. I can't kill her!" William shouts.
"Uh, if we work together, we might have a chance, so stand up," Abigail says before ducking down.
Abigail planted her hand on the ground and used her other hand to grab William by the collar before jumping back. Once she landed, she tossed the blade to William, who clumsily caught it and took a deep stance.
The lady clad in black cloth dashed towards the shivering William as Abigail stepped in front to defend him.
"She is really carrying the bottom floor raid right now," I mutter.
"Yeah, and she's even doing it with broken knuckles… how is she even gripping that cleaver right now," Mia mutters.
"Can someone tell me who recruited this William guy and who made him a commander?" Aria asks.
"I did… he's a pretty good fighter, but I've never heard him act like this. Maybe he has always been overconfident in his abilities up until now, and once he received a reality check, it was too hard for him to accept," Mia says.
"*sigh*... He hasn't even used a power stone yet," I mumble.
"Well, we should probably demote him if he doesn't get his shit together… that's ȧssuming if he's able to come out of this alive... The rest of the members don't really need commander right now, as they are pretty much overwhelming the guards besides a few anomalies who reveal themselves occasionally," Nell says.
I nod my head in agreement and sink slightly, resting my head against something similar to a squishy pillow.
"Lucy, do you know what you're leaning against?" Mia asks.
"Boobs?"
"Yep,"
"Jeez, they're big. What cup size are you…" I say, looking down towards my own brėȧsts, which were still within the B to low C-cup range.
"They're only D," Mia mutters while patting my head.
"Humuhumu… they're like pillows,"
"Ah, really? Wait, are you jealous?" Mia asks.
"Nope, in fact, you should be jealous since I can fight easier with smaller brėȧsts,"
"Uhhhh… I don't know about that," Mia smirks.
"You should be jealous…" I mutter, sitting up cause the pillows were about to send me to sleep.
I looked back at the screen and saw that William had coated his right hand and newly acquired cleaver with dark purple flames. It was clear to us that he also had selected the same stone as Abigail, but it wouldn't have much use if his legs didn't stop shaking.
Abigail was doing her best to defend William as he tried to gather enough confidence. Still, whenever he felt the bloodlust of the woman crawl on his skin, his confidence was immediately reset.
CLANG CLANG CLANG
Abigail's cleaver was slowly getting chipped away from the womans' high-speed attacks. Her cleavers weren't strong enough to withstand the full power of the demonic flames, so they weakened the blade in the fight with the massive bodyguard.
Abigail was desperately trying to turn the tables to give William just a slight bit of confidence, but it was almost impossible with her injured hands. She wasn't able to hit the daggers out of the woman's slender hands due to the lack of power.
If it weren't for the injury, that woman would've died ages ago.
"WILLIAM! GET YOUR SHIT TOGETHER AND FIGHT!" Abigail shouts.
William builds up just enough confidence to wimply charge towards the woman, swinging the cleaver downwards. Abigail immediately knew what to do and dropped her cleaver, then tightly gripped the woman's wrist.
She tried to escape, but surprisingly, Abigail was bȧrėly able to hold on while gritting her teeth. Also, the woman couldn't use a shadow as none were touching her.
The woman tried to lean out of the way of William's attack, but he had already swung down, and it was about to come in contact with her ċhėst…
SHING
The woman had sliced off her own wrist, managing to slip out of the way. She stumbled a few steps back before letting out a whimper of pain.
"You see that! Her bloodlust doesn't mean shit if she can't hit us!" Abigail shouts, filling William with a bit more confidence.
The woman clad in black charges towards them before slipping into the shadows right beside her. The duo stands back to back, readying themselves for any attack possible.
I wasn't able to see where the woman was looking, but it was pretty obvious where she would appear from… below them.
Suddenly, a few daggers sliced at both of their legs, ripping parts of their flesh out. They both stumble back in pain as the woman doesn't let them breathe at all, immediately dashing into the shadows again.
SHING
A dagger had ripped out the flesh from Abigail's arm, but she was somehow able to grab ahold of the woman's leg, causing her to drop to the ground. Abigail stomped on the woman's ċhėst with all her might, causing the woman to cough up blood.
But just as William directed his cleaver towards the woman's face, she slipped into the shadows under her.
"HUFF HUFF HUFF… W-wait… I think I know how to counter her attacks," William says.
