Kan couldn’t stop smirking as he escorted me to our seats. It made me want to punch the stupid look off his face, but I didn’t. Not when this was the happiest, I’d seen him since this year’s Games had started.

Wearing this ridiculous filly dress was an easy price to pay to see Kan a bit happy. However, it didn’t mean I wasn’t going to beat the crap out of David when I got hold of him. The ribbons on this dress alone were enough to many several shirts for a small child.

“Seriously, what the hell was he thinking.” I muttered, lifting the edge of my dress. “I don’t wear this kind of stuff. The colour isn’t even something I would wear.” I continued, staring angrily at puke green colour covering every corner of the dress.

“Maybe, he was trying to expand your wardrobe.” Kan said, laughing slightly.

“Black is a perfectly good colour.” I said hotly. “And from someone who’s got more black clothing than me, you shouldn’t be talking.”

“There you two are.”

We both turned to see a tall man run towards us. He was wearing a suit that matched my ridiculous dress. Many would consider him handsome, blond hair with hazel eyes, but his cruelty ruined them.

“David.” Kan said, his face going blank as David finally reached us.

“Kan.” David nodded at him, before looking at me. “Where have you been Runa. You know that this is an important event.”

I rolled my eyes. “I’m here, am I not. The Games only starts in an hour.”

David’s face went slightly red with rage, before he sighed, trying to keep calm. “Yes. Well, now that you’ve finally arrived, we should get going.”

Grabbing my arm, he began dragging me in the opposite direction of spectator’s seating area. Planting me feet firmly, I stopped both of us. “Umm… Where are you taking me.”

“Ah yes, I forgot to tell you. We have a special guest today, so you’ll be seating in the King’s Box with them.”

As he said those words, I suddenly felt sick. The King’s Box was a special seating area for the most elite members of the Underworld. There were only a few people who would be considered special enough to seat in the King’s Box and force me to come join them. And I did not want to see any of them, not right now. Not ever.

Before, I could say anything, I felt a hand on my shoulder. I saw Kan standing next to me shaking his head. He knew what I was going to say. “It’s okay David. I’ll take her there.”

David looked at Kan suspiciously, before nodding. “Alright. I trust you Kan. But remember no detours. Our guest is already mad as it is.”

After he disappeared from view, Kan looked at me and said softly, “You’ll be fine Runa. Just remember to take deep breaths.”
