As Janeth walked in, I found myself sighing in relief. I saw her carrying my Grim Reaper clothes with a pair of black gloves on top of the clothes. Grabbing the gloves, I quickly slipped them on. I never felt comfortable walking around without wearing gloves. Not with what my power let me do with my fingertips.
“Thanks Janeth.”
The android bowed. “Of course, Mistress. Master Kan also asked me to tell you that it’s going to rain cats and dogs tonight.” Her hologram face changed to a confused expression before she continued. “Although, I don’t understand how it will rain cats and dogs. Is it someone’s power that’s going to make it possible?”
I laughed. Kan was trying to cheer me up while letting me know that our trip to Miller's was still on, right after we made an appearance at the banquet. "No, Janeth. It's an old expression used by people from a long time ago. It just simply means that it's going to rain a lot. Also, I asked you to call me Runa."
“But pro…”
“Janeth, if I ever followed protocol, you wouldn’t exist. Most people would call you a defect. An experiment gone wrong.” I looked down at her metallic hands and arms.
She tried to hide them under the skin-tight clothes she wore, but there was no hiding the metal. Her whole body was covered in a silver-colored metal unable to hold the silicone all androids were required to use to cover their metallic parts and wires. Technically, Janeth was a failed experiment meant to be destroyed but I had put a stop to that.
“Okay, Runa.” She stated, but I knew she was probably going to go back to calling me ‘Mistress’ by tomorrow morning.
I sighed, taking the clothes from her. I placed them down on the wooden table in the corner of the room and turned around. Holding up my long brown hair, I asked, “Could you undo the buttons for me?”
“Yes, of course.”

Placing the black half-mask over my eyes, I turned back to look at Janeth. Her hologram face lit up and she clapped her hands. “You look wonderful. A true...”
Her face went back to a confused expression, trying to find a word that probably didn’t exist in her programming.
“Superhero.”
“Superhero?”
“That’s the word you’re looking for. It’s a word to describe someone who looks like me.”
“I see. But I must say that I’ve never seen it in my dictionary.”
“Maybe your programming’s just glitching again.” I replied, knowing that that was not true. The word I’d just told her was a forbidden one. It would never be something she could find, no matter how perfect her programming was.
“You’re right. I’ll make sure to book an appointment with Dr…”
“Don’t bother. I’ll look over it tonight.”
“Alright.” She bowed. “I’ll be taking my leave. Do you want the usual preparation for after your fight?”
“No, let it be. I’ll go to the banquet like this.”
Yes, I’ll let everyone see and smell the blood of the innocent children they’ve allowed to be harmed. It was the only way I could make them pay for what they've done. At least just for now.
