Chapter 718: The Earth’s Trump Card

Translator: Alsey  Editor: Chrissy

Chu Feng left and crossed the Eastern Sea. After going deeper into land, he made his way to Mount Zhijin to pay a visit to his sworn brother.

Jiang Ning, Mount Zhijin.

The area inside the Revered Eight Trigrams Furnace was very serene. Now that he was really here, Chu Feng was slightly apprehensive as residing here was Yaoyao’s grandfather. How should he address him later on?

Even though the man’s mind was hazy, Yaoyao would definitely beat him up if she found out he was benefiting from another’s expense like this!

This time, Chu Feng went underground carefully. He had made up his mind to call him a senior. He couldn’t be rashless and careless in how he addressed him anymore.

There was a cave similar to a furnace. Chu Feng explored it attentively before he started shouting.

At first, there were no signs of movement until he began making use of his domains. This made all of the flames in the eight corners within the area light up. Then he sensed an intimidating aura.

The sound of an iron chain came through the stone walls and sounded like it was from hell. Following this, a tall figure covered with long black fur emerged from the stone wall. The rock was completely undamaged as the figure had used a wall-passing technique.

“Senior!” Chu Feng immediately greeted him.

The tall figure’s face was covered with dark long hair. He emitted an indistinct voice and said, “Brother!”

Chu Feng was tongue-tied and speechless. He was rather dumbfounded and strangely astonished. This old man’s mind was impaired and this was just an embodiment of him, so how did he suddenly gain “enlightenment”?

He had unexpectedly called him brother!

He was sure he hadn’t misheard the greeting.

“The mammoth, the Heavenly Golden Goat, the ancient devil rhinoceros…” This old man spoke unclearly. The long black hair on his body issued a dark aura as he burst out with the names of various races without consulting anyone.

Then the old man wiped his mouth as if to rub saliva off.

At once, Chu Feng understood that the old man had become addicted since he had given him some food last time. Now, he was demanding food.

Fortunately, Chu Feng was prepared and had thought of this already before coming here. He was going to offer some fine delicacies to Yaoyao’s grandfather in the first place.

Long ago, nine thousand evolvers had been burnt to death at Mount Eternal. Enormous corpses from several different races had been left, becoming well-cooked, so Chu Feng tucked some into his spatial bracelet.

Afterward, the fragrance of meat drifted out as the old man ate heartily.

Chu Feng had come here to release Yaoyao’s grandfather’s true form!

He speculated that his form was a terrifying heavenly-illuminator existence. In fact, it was probably even a lot stronger than those at a similar level. After all, this old man had been determined in his invasion of the Yang-Realm as he sought revenge from the supreme experts in that world.

How would Yaoya’s grandfather dare to do so if he didn’t have the ability to?

Unfortunately, there were problems with Yaoyao’s grandfather himself. He couldn’t tolerate his consciousness and his mind was in disorder as he laid in the earth’s core in a deep slumber!

If Yaoyao’s grandfather hadn’t missed out on the fight deciding the Earth’s future back then, perhaps everything would’ve been completely different.

If he had participated in the battle, maybe history would’ve been altered.

However, it wasn’t possible to repeat life and there weren’t so many “ifs”. The old ages have passed, and it was too late to talk about it.

Back then, Yaoyao’s grandfather had disappeared, and even those who were closest to him didn’t know where he went to.

In coming to this old man, Chu Feng was still hopeful that he could momentarily sober up to rise into the sky. Chu Feng believed his slap could break the holy weapon in the sky into pieces— and then they would be victorious against the imperial city.

In addition, he could probably kill the supposed thousands of hunters with a slap of his hand, including the dark saint!

If this was the case, they could intimidate the starry skies. The importance of this was profound and long-lasting. From then on, the Sky-Piercer and the top ten would have to fear him. They wouldn’t dare to regard this area as just a back garden.

Overlord Chu was only satisfied after a long period of time had passed before he stopped eating.

Then, with Chu Feng constantly talking to him, the tall-built Overlord Chu vanished from the area, carrying Chu Feng with him as he went into the Earth’s core.

Here there were primal chaos qi and terrifying magnets. These formed a small world.

This was an area of nothingness with many specks of stars and a starry river turned flowing in reverse. It was incredibly mysterious. There was also an ancient coffin which looked like it was made from a pile of stars, glittering splendidly.

Gold chains encircled on top of it with one of the chains particularly thick. It was made of a type of mother-of-all-gold and was surging with Yang qi.

A supreme almighty from the Yang-Realm had been implanted inside Yaoyao’s grandfather’s body!

The inauspicious influence here was so heavy that it almost suffocated Chu Feng. He wanted to approach the coffin, but his own body felt as though it would shatter. He was in immense pain.

Here Chu Feng called out but there was no reply. There was a stillness about the old coffin, but the intangible aura was damaging everything here. This indicated that there really was an incomprehensible evolver lying dormant here.

Then Chu Feng sought help from Overlord Chu. This demonic corpse, being a reincarnation of Yaoyao’s grandfather, was reborn through drops of blood.

But affected by the real body, he too had a fuddled, slightly disordered mind. He said, “I can recall some matters from the past. The real shackles come from that mother-of-all gold chain as it is an aggregation of symbols from the Yang-Realm. If you rush indiscriminately into action, a great disaster will occur. The real body will awaken and will massacre the innocent.”

Overlord Chu’s words were still slightly intangible, but it was enough for Chu Feng to understand him clearly.

“That mother-of-all gold chain…” Chu Feng stared at the ancient coffin. Someone else had planted this here so that it took root in the flesh within Yaoyao’s grandfather’s real body.

Unwilling to give up, he called out again and again. He tried to wake up the oppressive expert because he knew only Yaoyao’s grandfather could eliminate all of the enemies!

His gentle calling persisted for half a day before the soft sound of something breaking came from the ancient coffin. The chain was moving!

This surprised him. There was a response!?

Then darkness flashed before his eyes as his entire person almost burst open. Chu Feng could hear his own heart about to tear open, as well as his bones.

How could this be? His evolution was swift and violent in order for him to reach this place today. And now, under such circumstances, his body was about to collapse!

Was this the power of a heavenly-illuminator?

Overlord Chu stirred, and he immediately barricaded Chu Feng with his body. A black beam soared over the great plains, covering the area and blocking the aura, which had inadvertently pervaded.

“Brother… don’t be afraid.” Overlord Chu’s voice was trembling slightly.

He was incredibly strong, and his powers were hard to measure. However, even when facing his own real body, he was still inhibited to the point where he remained good-tempered.

The next instant, the Overlord Chu suddenly shook. Furthermore, a brilliance flourished from his eyes. He turned green and looked like he was about to die.

And now his voice changed. With incomparable might, he said, “Who are you? Why have you entered this place!?”

In that split second, the hair on Chu Feng’s body stood up. He knew the Overlord Chu had changed, and it was probably Yaoyao’s grandfather’s true conscience that was controlling him.

“My name is Chu Feng. I’m from the later generations…” With a clatter, Chu Feng quickly and briefly introduced himself. He mentioned Yaoyao and the fact she had passed away a long time ago. He also spoke about the stressful situation the Earth was in right now.

“I know, I missed out back then!”

The voice of Yaoyao’s grandfather was incomparably low and endlessly sad. It also had an indescribable mournfulness to it. He was trying his best to restrain himself, but in the end, he still couldn’t help but erupt and roar at the sky.

But in the final moment, his body became stiff. He couldn’t move at all—he produced a dark glow to protect Chu Feng.

Primal chaos qi exploded around the old coffin as the void in the area began to split open. The place was in disarray as the small world formed was directly destroyed. The old coffin shook and emitted a pained shout from the inside.

It was deeply remorseful and full of regret as he already knew what happened in the past!

“But I still can’t leave this place now. If I escape, I’ll become a killing machine and destroy all regardless if they’re enemy of not.”

“Quick, leave. I don’t have a lot of time before I lose my mind once again. I need to be dormant!”

“Quick, quick, quick!”

Yaoyao’s grandfather’s true body urged. It was clear he had great issues. Him vanishing back then was self-imprisonment, as otherwise, he would’ve destroyed everything.

In fact, it was possible that he had wiped out his family, disciples as well as the planet he lived on himself.

He had created a small world here to confine his powers through self-imprisonment.

Chu Feng was unreconciled and shouted, “Sir, can’t you withdraw from this place for just a moment? I’m not asking you to enter into the depths of the universe. The killer imperial court is just outside Earth. They’re going to descend onto this planet and massacre the area, so I need you to attack!”

He believed that Yaoyao’s grandfather could solve everything with just a slap of his palm!

Yet Overlord Chu was horrified. Together with Chu Feng, he quickly fell back, escaping from the small world in the Earth’s core instantly and charging out of the primal chaos wall.

Then Chu Feng sensed a great explosion occurring inside. There was a tyrannical flavor with unbordered murderous intent as the air was full of destruction and bloodshed.

“Kill, kill, kill…”

Seven “kill” words came from inside. He was in a crazed state with the intention to destroy the whole world!

Chu Feng was in awe. If he hadn’t come out, he would’ve been crushed by the invisible energy inside. The power of a heavenly-illuminator was unimaginable.

“He’ll be on a path of no return if he touches blood. It might be that he can’t turn and return here, and so he could only proceed to massacre throughout the universe. Besides, he would lose his ego…” said Overlord Chu. It seemed that his head had cleared considerably.

It was unclear how much time had passed before a voice came from the small world in the Earth’s core. It said, “Go to Kunlun and obtain the arms-refining pollen from the sacred tree. Then there might be a period when I can come out.”

Then there was a burst of tyrannical aura once again.

Chu Feng was stunned and then pleasantly surprised as Overlord Chu took him to the surface of the ground. Then he turned and left.

In an instant, he found that the heavenly-illuminator was completely sufficient to wipe them all out. It could probably even beat up all of the big fish in the war bastion if there were any in there!

Without stopping to rest, Chu Feng marched toward Mount Kunlun. What gave him a headache was that last time during the battle at Kunlun, he hadn’t discovered the sacred tree. He didn’t know where it had disappeared to.

“Maybe it’s in the depths of the home of myriad gods!”

He believed that the old tree was still in Kunlun and hadn’t gone far.

Originally, the arms-refining sacred tree had helped him refine his diamond chakram. He had swayed pollen from the tree in order to make the mother-of-all gold.

“Old tree, old saint, old god, your old friend is here to visit!”

Chu Feng shouted. He ran through Mount Kunlun, unafraid of being discovered because with his current strength, he was fearless of encountering enemies.

Then he charged into the home of myriad gods. Upon reaching here, he didn’t dare cross as he wished anymore as the topography here was terrifying. Last time, a lot of people had died and even he was almost imprisoned within.

“Old tree, old saint, where are you!?” Chu Feng continued shouting.

There was a sudden noise as in the distance, the old tree emerged with his roots as his legs. He looked at him cautiously and said, “Young fellow, last time, you painfully defrauded me and I almost used all of my pollen on your bracelet. It mustn’t be anything good again for you to come looking for me again!”

“Brother, I’ve missed you so much!” Chu Feng was immediately exalted upon seeing him. He hadn’t imagined that his search would be so successful, that he would find him so quickly. This was indeed the home of the myriad gods.

Meanwhile, the black yak had also reached great decisions at Mount Eternal.

The black yak said, “Yellow Ox, Ouyang, and I will go into the deepest parts of Mount Eternal to seize control over the Demon race’s divine refining grounds. Once we secure it, this war machine will be enough to crush the Dark Imperial Court’s so-called bastion. We’ll eliminate them all!”

The Manchurian Tiger was full of worry and said, “Old black are you sure? The interiors of Mount Eternal are too dangerous. Even the exceptional and gifted, like Yellow Ox and Ouyang, have returned with great injuries every time. We’re afraid something perilous will happen to you!”

“I have to go even if I can’t. I’m convinced I can endure it and breakthrough to the end. I’ll give it my all this time!” the big black yak roared. He didn’t want Chu Feng to be charging ahead every time, inhibiting all of the enemies. He wanted to attack, too, and share some of the pressure..

“I’ll come with you!” The Manchurian tiger and the black yak were intimate buddies through life and death, and so he shouted in this way.

“If I go, I’ll be throwing my life away.” The old donkey was dejected. He knew himself too well.

“I’ll go with you!” Wu Qifeng opened his mouth.

Following this, the old llama prayed to Buddha. He too wanted to go.

But Yellow Ox and Ouyang Feng shook their heads. This was where the Demon race nurtured their demonic saints, so there was no real way for humans to enter.

Then a group of great demons from Kunlun shouted out, wanting to rush inside with them. They wanted to fill in the gap with their own lives, to pave the road and charge to the end.

The big black yak said, “Don’t fight anymore. This isn’t an issue which could be solved the more people there are. Let me go with them to find a path first. If I can’t do, it then you guys can try! Furthermore, who said I would definitely fail? I don’t want to die. I still need to travel through the starry skies and marry a yak fairy while looking down on all of the races. My final goal isn’t to become a saint. I want to go into the Yang-Realm one day to have a look at the real world!”
