“My Lord, there’s been a bit of a problem with the summoning.”

“Hm? What do you mean? Tell me!”

King Edmaris Falmuth, the King of the Kingdom of Falmuth sat on his throne. Again this was a private meeting, with few in the room besides those who knew of the summoning.

“Well normally those we summoned have only so much magical power because they come from a world without it. However, this one seemed to have magic before and therefore their magicule count exploded during the transfer process and we weren’t able to bind their soul properly.”

“So we lost the summon?!”

“Not quite, we were able to use some priests to bind their souls with a holy curse which while allowing us full control of the summon, does unfortunately make them lose any ‘will’ they had.”

“Isn’t that a good thing?”

“While in a way yes, but on the other hand any fighting experience the summon had as well as their own combat instincts are barely useful. The summon will know how to fight and obey orders, however they lack the ability to learn, grow, or adapt.”

He sat back on his throne, looking disappointed, “I see… Is there even any use for the summon then?”

“Well… While she may be far less effective in fighting, her sheer strength and power of her equipment more than makes up for it!”

“I see, so you think she’s strong?”

“Easily the strongest summon we have, even with the limitations.”

“That's good then, since she can’t really live any sort of normal life, we’ll keep her in the castle secured until she’s needed.”

“Do you know when that will even be? We’re in a time of peace are we not?”

“Yes… But the disappearance of Veldora will open up its own can of worms in the next few years.”

“What's a can of worms?”

“Oh it's just a saying Folgen told me about.”

“I see… Well that's it for now, I’ll inform you of any changes, my lord!”

Tanya raised her right hand, a number of small, glowing red orbs appearing behind her as she hovered in the air. Lowering her arm quickly, a small beam bursts out of one of the orbs like a bullet, rushing down and crashing on the ground, creating a large red-glowing explosion upon impact, kicking up dust and smoke. Following it came another, then another, as one by one pellets were fired, each one on average moving further down the clearing as the only thing that could be heard above the explosions were the screams of fleeing goblins on wolves.

The firing quickly accelerates, firing two pellets per second as the Goblin Riders struggle to outpace and dodge them. The occasional goblin is blasted off to the side and off their wolf, however she was holding back quite a bit, so while they’re certainly in pain, it's nothing Rimuru’s healing potions couldn’t fix.

After about another 10 seconds it becomes a bullet hell with the orbs behind Tanya firing rapidly and randomly as all that could be heard over the constant explosions now was Gobta, one of the Goblin Riders, shouting “She’s insane! She’s trying to kill us!”

That and of course, Tanya’s maniacal laughter.

“AHAHAHAHA! You think I’m trying to kill you with this? I’ll show you what trying to kill you looks like!”

“Oh no…”

With that Tanya swung her right hand backwards before swinging it roughly forward as the pellets doubled in numbers and each began firing anywhere from 1-3 times a second, completely bombarding the clearing with pellets and explosions.

“AHAHAHAHAHA!”

Meanwhile down below a good 30 feet back from where any explosion was landing Hakurou and Benimaru were watching the chaos unfold.

“Hohohoho, It seems she’s having fun.” Hakurou speaks as he sips from a cup he had brought with him to drink while he watched Tanya handle training.

“Don’t you think she’s maybe having… a little too much fun with this?” Benimaru, unlike Hakurou who seemed satisfied with the training, looked more confused and concerned.

“There is no need to worry, Benimaru, I have confidence in Tanya’s abilities.”

“It's not her abilities I question. It's her… Methods.”

“I will say it's unorthodox, but it's certainly working is it not? Look at the Goblin Riders, they’re getting better and better at dodging her pellets, even as she bombards them with hundreds.”

“Doesn’t she ever run out of Magicules?”

“Well she is a high-ranking Demon, Benimaru, I’m sure she’s likely on par with Sir Rimuru himself. That's probably why Rimuru made her Chancellor.”

“That's certainly part of it but I feel like it has more to do with her all-around abilities. The only person I know capable of doing as much in terms of governing as she can is Rimuru themselves.”

“Yes, I can see where you’re coming from… Oh it would appear she’s finally done.”

As they wrapped up their conversation Tanya descended from above, the orbs now gone and the clearing riddled with craters. The Goblin Riders, those not hurt too much at least, looked exhausted and traumatized, however a good number of them had eventually become surprisingly good at dodging, even if they hadn’t realized it in the moment.

Tanya clapped her hands as she landed, the Goblins still resting as she took a few steps forward. “Good job! Now if you want to go home, all you have to do is just hit me once! If you can’t… Well then it's another round with the bullet storm!”

Gobta perked up, “Really? That's it? This is easy!” Suddenly he changed at Tanya while on his wolf, striking at her only to see her fuzz out and disappear, only to then notice her hovering in the air behind where he was before as she slowly descented. The other Goblin riders quickly got back up and ready.

“Aww, you didn’t think that decoy was me did you?” With that, one by one another Tanya would step out of another, slowly multiplying in a way where it was impossible to tell which were illusions and which were real. After a few moments the Goblins were completely surrounded on all sides by three rows of Tanyas.

Benimaru seemed shocked, though not terribly surprised given Tanya’s strength, “She has body doubles like Souei?”

Hakurou simply shook his head, “No, those are illusions, and good ones at that. I can't even tell which are real or fake. However the difference between that and body double is that it isn’t a physical body and cannot be interacted with. This of course comes with the plus side of having practically no limit to how many copies of yourself you can make so long as you have enough magicules.”

“I see… If you cannot see past it, I’d imagine most can’t either.”

“I assume it would take a very special skill to see beyond it. That means that most of the time, this is easily a viable strategy against anyone. This would prove especially effective in a fight with a sword fighter or some other similar melee weapon which doesn’t have any good multi-attack options.”

As they were talking the Goblins were spending a copiously long amount of time trying to find Tanya. In truth there was no way for them to know which was Tanya, and Tanya didn’t expect them to learn. A few seconds later Tanya shouts out, “Well, looks like you’re out of time, hope you like bullet hells!”

With that orbs appeared in a circle all around them, albeit further out than the ring of tanyas as it began firing upon the field. The immediate explosions took out most of the fake Tanyas who fizzled out revealing that none of the Tanyas were real in the first place and that Tanya had been basically hovering about 15 feet in the air without anything hiding her and no intention to have moved if someone tried to launch any sort of attack at her.

“I’m not sure how none of you noticed me, but no matter, Bombard!” On command the orbs surrounding them went off, with Tanya utilizing magic to make sure they couldn’t go beyond the rings of orbs, entrapping them in an enclosed space while they had to avoid explosions again. Tanya’s maniacal laughing could again be heard as she did this.

“Yep… She’s definitely enjoying herself. Anyways I’m off to check on Shuna. You have fun dealing with the devil.”

“Hohoho, I’m sure I will, Benimaru, I like her spirit.”

“Of course you do.”

Tanya’s torment of the goblin riders came to an end after about another 10 minutes of dodging her explosions. Most had come out of it surprisingly well, however almost all of them were on the verge of passing out either from exhaustion or trauma.

Tanya easily could’ve gone harder on them, giving them training much like she had given the 203rd which involved days of bombardments from artillery in the cold mountain passes. The only issue was that such combat didn’t quite exist in this world, and fighting was certainly about magic and medieval-style armies. However this village would certainly be fighting through skills instead, especially against the Orc army which is likely to do the same.

Satisfied with their training, though already thinking of ways to expand it, likely at the expense of the goblin riders’ sanity, she hovers down in front of Hakurou.

“Well they're all yours then!”

“Hohoho, I feel like they’ve trained enough today. I’ll let them rest for now.”

“In that case I’m going back in.”

“Oh don’t worry Tanya, I’ll be sure they get their full training later today.” Hakurou gives a devilish grin with Tanya returning it with her own.

“Well then I’ll leave it to you. If you want to make sparring more exciting, just ask me and I’ll make it a living hell!”

“Will do, Tanya, I’m certain we can come up with many… Effective… training styles together, wouldn’t you say?”

“I’m excited to hear your ideas then, for now though I think I’ll head back to town.”

“I’ll oversee the goblins then.”

Tanya gave him a waving salute gesture before blasting off towards town. She had figured out how to use her power near her feet as a sort of booster, making up for the loss of her former boots and allowing her to change direction quickly. Of cours it wasn’t limited to her feet, and could really be used in any direction. Its main purpose was to change direction as well as rapidly accelerate, especially since her skills made up for the need to have any sort of propellant.

Tanya had been in the village for a bit over a few weeks, and since then the Ogres, now Kijin, had joined its ranks. There was a fight prior to this, caused by a misunderstanding, however Tanya was never informed of the fight until it was over, not that she would’ve intervened if she didn’t have to anyways. Her strength surpassed that of Rimuru’s, and frankly she wanted to avoid even the slightest trouble that could be caused by revealing her full strength, although Rimuru themself knows.

Rimuru, due to Tanya’s capabilities as a well-rounded manager in numerous aspects, made Tanya the Chancellor officially not too long after the Kijin were given their own official ranks. While Tanya questioned how quick Rimuru was to trust people, in truth none of the others had not only the strength, but also the general skills needed to help in managing the whole town, especially should it expand to a nation soon like Rimuru has intended to do.

Tanya also eventually dropped her illusions, both her Magical Manipulation in hiding her aura and her Illusion Master in hiding her hair and eyes. She had little reason to hide the fact she was a Demon, and while Kaijin was shocked, he couldn’t say he was entirely surprised, causing Tanya to wonder just how intimidating she looked as a human.

Of course she didn’t let her full aura out, as that would likely intimidate not just some monsters but especially any newcomers that come into the village. As such she only released some of her aura, enough to be slightly above some of the strongest members. The main reason she dropped all of this was because of the Magicules it cost to maintain all of it from the illusions to the aura suppression. It was something she could keep up indefinitely, but it was certainly taxing on her.

Her gun, she also found out, was growing obsolete for her, as her recent demonstration with the orbs and explosive magical pellets showed. It was a good training device to get her used to this new type of magic, however currently its use is primarily in making it seem like her power comes from amplifying bullets or something, allowing her to make others believe she’s weaker than she is if she wanted to. Otherwise however, it's effectively pointless. Although the shovel, as always, remains useful for her. She’s even figured out how to stick it into the ground before lifting it up and taking out a massive small house sized chunk of earth which she can launch into the air before hitting it forward.

Now that she was revealed to be a Demon rather than a human she seemed to ‘fit in’ better, or rather she was more easily accepted. The residents were friendly with humans, however they lacked a permanent human resident or even acquaintance, so having one be in a position of power may have caused some initial concern, but as a Demon Tanya generally fit in a bit more, not that she was much going out of her way to do so.

Regardless of that, she was incredibly effective at her job, having already organized plans for expansion spanning years into the future depending on the rate of growth. Given the large lack of any major, let alone fully organized labor force, she predicts that, assuming one develops in roughly a year's time, that they’d have a full city in about 2 to 3 years.

Even still in her mind that's an optimistic approach and assumes certain factors are simply overcome by sheer strength of monsters and skills alone. Though Rimuru himself has confidence that they could do it in potentially less time, and that was enough to encourage much of the village to work harder to do so. Tanya is both concerned and intrigued by the cult of personality which has formed around Rimuru, primarily his subordinates who declare absolute loyalty to him on even an emotional level. In truth it would take a lot for Rimuru to lose their favor, though Tanya believes Rimuru doesn’t quite seem to understand that.

Eventually Tanya flew over and landed in what had quickly become the center of town, where the city was primarily being expanded from. It was a wide circular space, with Rimuru claiming he wanted to build a fountain right in the middle. In truth Tanya didn’t actually have much to do currently. They were Chancellor, sure, however there was really no government or even much at all to organize. So her duties as Chancellor was quite a short list, allowing her much time off, at least until either something chaotic happened or until the city expanded enough.

Eventually though, only after a few minutes of mostly just relaxing around, trying to think of something that needed attending to, in part while relaxing and enjoying the spare time she had, she was out by Shuna who was running over to her. Shuna was one of the Ogres which had sworn loyalty to Rimuru and evolved into Kijin. Shuna in particular was the ‘Holy Princess’ however also took to helping produce a good portion of the clothes. Tanya hadn’t had too many interactions with her considering Tanya’s affairs rarely included her, so in truth she was curious to find out what Shuna wanted.

“Tanya! Come here for a moment. I wanted you to try something!”

Slowly walking over Tanya shook her head, “If it's clothes you do know what I can change my form at will? Well… I can change it enough to at least change the clothes. Even if I couldn't, I have Illusion Master to change my whole body’s appearance if I want to.”

“Don’t worry! I’m sure you’ll like it! It’s much better than that bland military uniform!” Shuna quickly began dragging Tanya along who, while they could easily fly and escape Shuna, didn’t want to deal with the repercussions of an angry Shuna, something she’d been told to avoid.

Now pulling Tanya into the building where most of the clothes were made and given out, Shuna pulled her into a changing room in the back corner and held up some clothing for her. The sight of it nearly caused Tanya to fly away immediately and never return to the village, “I am NOT wearing that.”

Tanya stared angrily at what was basically a dress. The colors matched her uniform, in fact in many ways it was like an altered version of her uniform that looked nice and ‘feminine’ over actual combat capabilities, which to be fair, she didn’t quite need in her current state. In fact the more she looked at it, the more it looked just like a dress form of a military uniform, matching the black and red of her current altered form of her formal Imperial uniform.

Course if Tanya was going for a feminine look, she’d have very few problems with it, however Tanya MANY problems with it. The most important one was the skirt. Tanya had always preferred pants over any sort of skirts, mostly since she herself was still a male mentally, and didn’t want to deal with the mess that was skirts, considering how easy it would be for perverts to stick their head underneath it. Considering that she’d be flying, that only made the situation worse. Luckily the dress did compensate for this, making it so it wasn’t possible to see underneath, however the point still stood. The main other problem with the dress was how short it was. By all accounts it could’ve been shorter, however it extended just above her knees. It would be one thing if it went down to her lower legs, which would be something she would consider ‘good enough’ to wear if she had to. This however was too short for her, even if she did want to wear a skirt and even if this was roughly average length.

Regardless of Tanya’s opinion on the skirt as well as some other feminine aspects of it, including making the red portions a more hot-pink rather than red, Shuna seemed insistent, slowly walking towards Tanya with a determined and frightening glare that rivaled Tanya’s own. As Tanya herself tried to back up, she only bumped into Rimuru who pushed her closer to Shuna as she turned back panicked, utilizing Thought Communication which she had picked up to speak with him.

(‘What the hell Rimuru?!’)

(‘Why don’t you put on the uniform, you wouldn’t want to see Shuna mad would you?’)

(‘You just want to see suffer don’t you?!’)

(‘Who put you up to this?’)

(‘Who’s to say?’)

(‘It was Gobta wasn’t it’)

You are reading story The Saga of Slime and Devil at novel35.com

(‘Yeah it was Gobta, though he never specified ‘how’ I he wanted you tormented, and Shuna conveniently had come up with a dress design she wanted you to wear, so why don’t you let her see how adorable you are in it?’)

(‘You are so paying for this slime!’)

(‘Is that a threat? To your leader? huhuhu!’)

(‘Yes. Yes it is. I am threatening you.’)

Tanya considered all of her options, ultimately she determined that even if she did escape now, which she easily could considering she could overpower Rimuru in brute strength alone, it would be inevitable that they would try and potentially outright catch her again by any means necessary to do this. Even if Rimuru gave up, Shuna would certainly not. Currently her options were put on the dress, at least for long enough for Shuna to be satisfied and for Rimuru to gain whatever bribe Gobta offered, or to leave the village forever and never interact with this slime ever again. Unfortunately for Tanya, she had what she considered a stable and potentially even powerful and leisurely job as Chancellor of what she believed could become an Economic superpower, and it seemed wearing this dress for a short while was the necessary sacrifice.

Shamefully she grabbed at the dress, and modified her appearance with her intrinsic demonic ability to do so (although strangely her bodily appearances like her hair, face, body, and gender were unchangeable, though her clothes were.) After a few seconds the black smoke surrounding her vanished and she clenched her fists angrily as she stood in the stall wearing what she saw as a shame on her identity.

Shuna seemed to approve of it, clapping her hands together, “Adorable! You’re just so cute!”

Tanya currently wished Being X sent her to hell instead.

Rimuru, satisfied, turned to leave as Tanya grabbed at his arm aggressively.

“Hey Shuna… Surely you and Shion have some things you want to put on Rimuru… right?”

(‘You devil!’)

Shuna lit up and quickly headed out and came back with a whole stack of clothes for Rimuru to wear, “Of course! Me and Shion have been thinking about what to dress you in since we got here!”

Rimuru gulped as Tanya slid out, fixed her clothing back to her uniform and flew out while Shuna was distracted. On her way to literally anywhere else, she quickly informed Shion of the circumstances with Rimuru and Shuna to make sure the slime had no chance of escaping.

The dress, Tanya could admit at least, was well made, though there was really no way she was ever going to wear it. Now the slime on the other hand, he was genderless, which mean he still directly saw himself as a male, however knowing Shuna, Tanya suspected she knew exactly what torment that slime was probably going through.

For the time being though, Tanya decided she would focus on another affair; Capitalism. While her original ambition before arriving in the village was to create her own company, that idea was briefly shot down after she joined it. Now however, she’s begun stepping her toes into the economy of this world, establishing her own merchant company while also managing things in the village. While tedious to go back and forth, given her flight speed now nears mach speeds, it's not terribly difficult. She takes on the alias of ‘Tanya Degurechaff’ when handling business, changing her appearance through illusions to mimic that of her last life, as well as putting on a more formal suit rather than a military uniform.

Through her funds she has already expanded the company significantly, and her experienced decisions in a market which has not faced the complexities of a modern capitalist system allowed her to outmaneuver her opponents while also taking advantage of rising trends. Overall in just a manner of weeks, her company was now in fairly stable standing, primarily in Dwargon but also expanding beyond and into Falmuth with plans to expand beyond.

Of course she acknowledges it still has a long way to go, and that it will be at least several months before she could do much with it, however her intention is to transform it into an investments company rather than a solely merchant-trading one. Investments, at least in any organized or independent way, doesn't quite exist in this more medieval-esc economy. Rather the closest thing to ‘investment’ groups are nations and nobility themselves, and such comes with far more restrictions. However as an independent investment company, one of the (if not the) first of its kind, she would likely achieve large amounts of success. This would only be reinforced by the fact that she was a demon, and could potentially forge demonic contracts with her much larger business partners, even if it means revealing herself as a Demon, though a proper clause to prevent the other to keep her secret would prevent it from being spread. If her partner broke her contract in any way or failed to pay off debts, utilizing her new Intrinsic Skill ‘Devil’s Contract’ she could easily take their soul or take control over it. In the latter case, she could use that to make their company a subsidiary of mine.

Overall it's a profitable plan for her, if her partners upheld their end of the contract, then they would have a mutually beneficial arrangement and Tanya would profit. If they did not uphold their end, their soul would either be hers, or she would simply take control over them and integrate their assets. Some call it manipulative, but frankly Tanya considers it fair business.

Her business venture is still early however, and while it is proving successful, it is far from ready to be expanded into the investment company she desires it to be. Regardless, while she does have managers hired, she does need to check on it now and again, though Rimuru seems to have no problems with it, believing it could in the future be used to open up the village to international trade.

A few days later, with Tanya having returned later in the afternoon after she had left there was a noticeable disruption by the primary entrance. Heading over and standing in line with just about every other major member of the village they saw a group of what she had been told are lizardmen there for some reason.

Overall there was basically a small army of lizardmen, easily a few dozen, though the army of goblins alone outnumbered them. Not to mention that just about a single one of the Kijin could wipe out all of them on their own. The only one which seemed to be of significant power as per Tanya’s eye was the center lizardmen, riding a reptilian of some kind. The small army bumped their spears against the ground in a rhythm as if to announce his arrival, which in Tanya’s mind only made him seem either egotytical or some kind of fancy noble, or both.

Jumping off of his mount he lands on the ground, twp lizardmen utilizing mirrors to give him an artificial stagelight as he exclaims, “I am Gabiru of the Lizardmen! You will all serve under me, consider this a great honor!”

The lizardmen immediately went to praise this ‘Gabiru’ however Tanya, rather everyone from the village seemed either unimpressed, confused, or both at the same time. Tanya wasn’t necessarily confused since she could see the stereotype, however she was both unimpressed and annoyed.

One of the lizardmen, who frankly looked like a walking anime reference, then spoke up, “Remember him well. This is the man who will be the next chieftain of the Lizardmen! Bow down!”

Now their confusion turned to a mixture of confusion and annoyance, though the confusion was still strong with all of them. Though quickly the confusion was subsided by the anger of most of them, with basically all of them wanting to kill him, mostly for his disrespect to their sovereignty and Rimuru, though Tanya just saw him as annoying and useless enough to justify killing.

Rigurd, seemingly attempting to properly understand the situation before the Kijin just go in guns blazing like they supposedly did to Rimuru spoke up then, “Forgive me… You called yourself Gabiru, yes? This request to serve you is rather sudden…”

“Good grief. Must I spell it out for you? You heard the news, have you not?”

“What news?”

“The news that those Orc pigs are invading the Great Forest of Jura. Which is why it would best suit you to become my men. I, Gabiru, will protect you weaklings from the threat of the Orcs! Weaklings! Weaklings… Weaklings? Wow…”

Gabiru, now confused himself, turned to speak with his fellow lizardmen about the confusion, especially considering how he thought this was a goblin village only to see three Kijin, a slime, a demon, and only one hobgoblin, who himself was not only the strongest of all the hobgoblins, but also wasn’t even a normal goblin.

Eventually, having settled his confusion, Gabiru gets up again to speak, “Ahem! I’ve heard that there are those among you who have tamed direwolves. I will make those of you who have officers in my army. Bring them to me.”

Now everyone was generally going back to being angry, Shion was strangling the slime, Benimaru was upset, though was much nicer in showing it, and Tanya frankly just wanted the annoying reptile dead. Both having the same idea, both Tanya and Benimaru speak in unison; “Can we kill him?” Benimaru gave a gentle, kind face which could probably win over any girl, while Tanya gave an adorable childish face as if she was asking for a nice toy.

Rimuru, entranced by them both, happily said “Sure!”

Benimaru and Tanya proceed to begin preparing to blast the reptile back to the Jurassic period before Rimuru realized his mistake; “Wait, no! No! No!”

After calming down Benimaru and Tanya, the latter of which was pouting at not getting to kill the obnoxious lizard, Rimuru decided diplomacy was better than having a small demon child eradicate the lizardmen population. “Um… We didn’t exactly tame the Direwolves. We made them our allies, and I’m the one who did that.”

“A slime did that? Please don’t make such jokes.”

Benimaru and Tanya, again spoke out; “Can we kill hi-”

“No! Ranga!”

“Yes Master!” Ranga quickly popped out of the shadow behind Shion who at this point was holding Rimuru, landing between Rimuru and Gabiru, at his natural size, easily larger than gabiru in just height alone.

“He says he wants to talk to you. Hear him out.”

“As you wish. My master has ordered me to hear what you have to say. So speak, I’m listening.”

While the other lizardmen were heavily intimidated by this now massive uni-dog in front of them, Gabiru remained firm and unflinching, which gained him some respect from Tanya and Rimuru especially, however both saw him as an idiot whereas Tanya saw him as an incompetent leader who is probably only unflinching due to his own stupidity.

“Are you the leader of the Direwolves? Your beautiful fur, your keen eyes… You truly have a majestic presence. However… It is a bit disappointing to know that your master is a slime!”

An angry slime could be heard from behind Ranga, “Huh?!”

“It seems you’ve been deceived. Very well. What this slime has done to you is unforgivable… so I shall defeat him for you!”

The other lizardmen began praising Gabiru, chanting out ‘Gabiru! Gabiru! Gabiru!’ in unison as he did various poses.

“A mere lizard dares to insult my master?!”

Ranga was now properly pissed, seizing their moment, the two opportunists in the group had a brilliant idea they hadn’t suggested before;

“Can we kil-”

“No!”

Gobta, who to Rimuru’s surprise, hadn’t been killed by Shion’s cooking, then skipped over behind them, “Hey, what’re you guys doing?”

“You’re still alive?”

“Hey, that’s kinda mean. Of course I’m alive!”

“I see. Even I don’t have Poison Resistance, I’m impressed.”

“Really?”

Ranga suddenly appeared behind Gobta using shadow movement, lifting him up by his coat, “Good timing.”

Now placed in front of a lizardman, both holding a spear Gobta was, rightfully so, confused, “What the heck is going on?!”

Ranga took a step behind Gobta, now addressing the lizardmen, “Lizard, if you can defeat this one, I will consider your offer.”

“Why me?”

“Fine by me. Having one of your subordinates fight saves you the shame of losing. Wouldn’t you agree, slime?”

“Gobta, don’t hold back! Get him!”

“Jeez, why the heck am I doing this?”

“If you win, I’ll have Kurobei make a special weapon just for you!”

“Really? That motivates me a little!”

“And if you lose, Tanya’s taking over your training for a month!”

“Anything but that!”

Tanya could be heard lightly chuckling from a distance; “Kyehehehehe”

Gabiru did a fancy spear-spinning move before actually preparing for combat, “Are you ready?”

On Gobta’s side, all that could be heard was his aggressive shouting.

“Then begin!” Ranga shouted, howling into the air to signify the start of the battle.

“We Lizardmen, descendants of the great Dragons, could never lose to a mere Hobgoblin…”

Gobta quickly threw his spear at Gabiru, causing Gabiru to dodge and swing back at him in retaliation, however he hit nothing. Looking confused he attempted to find out where Gobta went before he jumped out of his shadow behind him, kicking him in the back of the head, with him falling to the ground.

Gabiru promptly shouted; “AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhh-ugnh”

The goblins stared in shock as Rimuru seemed surprised, though Ranga and Tanya seemed to have expected much. Both of them had trained him to a degree, and while childish, and in Tanya’s eyes slightly incompetent at times, he was at the very least a competent fighter with great potential in their eyes.

“That's that. The fight is over! The winner is Gobta!”

The others began praising Gobta, Tanya remained mostly silent, not one for praising in that manner. Also because she was too short to take part in bouncing him over their heads.

Rimuru, carried by Shion still, came up to Gobta, “Good job, Gobta. As promised, I’ll have Kurobei make you a weapon.”

“All right!”

“As for all of you, Gobta has won this battle! If you want us to help you fight the Orcs, we’ll consider it, but we won’t serve you. Take him and leave for today.”

The lizardmen began lifting up Gabiru by their shoulders. “W-We’ll be back!”

“Indeed. This is not over!”

“We… We’ll remember this!” The lizardmen immediately charged off, shouting as they did.

“Okay then. I guess we’ll have to plan where to go from here.”
