Chapter 26: A genius is still a genius be it a boy or a girl

Rae's POV

Training my new body has not been an easy task. Five years have quickly passed since I first become a vampire. My training sessions with Steve, Trina, Merle and Luna were all very intense and tiring. I sometimes wondered if I was the only child in that world undergoing such vigorous training. The body I had was that of a girl but the abilities I had were beyond superhuman. My sight, hearing and speed were all amplified significantly. It was just like in the movies back in my world except for the no drinking of blood or burning in the sun. 

I had combat training in the morning, learning the Nobility norms, etiquette and a simplified formal education in the afternoon, Magic in the evening and Vampiric studies at night. My daily schedule was taxing and vexing. I could not get a moment alone to do any research on the science of this new world I was in. 

Since I wanted a lot of free time to myself, I tried to hasten my learning process hoping that if I learn what they were teaching me quick enough they would leave me alone to pursue my passions. At first, I tried to master the combat techniques Mr Steve was teaching me but I was not able to understand and learn them fast enough. I was frustrated and agitated because of my situation but then I realized I had a secret weapon. I asked Liza if it was possible for her to analyze the combat techniques Steve was teaching me and then reassimilate them to fit my body. She said it was possible but the process required me to continue with my training so that she could collect the data. After the process, I would still need to practice the techniques myself so that they become part of my muscle memory. That way I would have the techniques permanently mastered. The process was long but shorter than the alternative of taking years of practice to master the techniques. When the data collection began I was still a novice at everything but after a few days, I was able to perform all the basic techniques perfectly. Steve was surprised at how fast I was picking up his knowledge. From hand to hand combat to swordsmanship I was learning all of it so fast that he started to refer to me as a combat prodigy. After two years, I had learned and understood everything he had taken five years to understand. Eventually, my thirst for sating my curiosity kicked in. I asked Liza if she could analyze the martial art techniques from my world that were in my memory banks and use them to evolve the combat techniques Mr Steve had taught. She agreed to my request and soon enough I had a hybrid version of Earth's and Mr Steve's techniques. 

When Steve saw my combat abilities during one of our sparing matches, he was left in awe. He praised me saying that I had developed new combat techniques. This was all fine as long as I got to have more time to myself. But that's where I was wrong. Instead of reducing my training time I increased it. Mr Steve said I had a talent for the sword and hand to hand so I was to train harder and grow my talent so that it wouldn't go to waste.

I had also tried a similar thing with my magic lessons but that also ended up going the same. Although the magic lessons were taxing they were more interesting than the combat ones since we did not have the concept of magic in my previous world.

In the magic lessons, I was retaught the theory part and then the practical lessons followed. The theory was the same thing that I read in books. The only new thing I learned was about circuits and Spirit magic which I had not learned before. Through my lessons, I found out that every living thing on the planet has something called a circuit. This circuit is what enables the flow of mana into and out of living creatures. There are two types of circuits these are the normal circuit or mana circuit and the spirit circuit. The circuits seem to have some similarities but living beings with spirit circuits can only use mana externally while those with Mana circuits can only manipulate it internally that was the difference but nobody knew the reason why.

When we went for our practical lessons, Merle showed me some of her magic. At first, she showed me the normal way of doing magic which was the three steps that are Initiation, translation and then product steps. She then did the basic spells of all four of her elements. The processes of doing the chants all seemed to be time-consuming and energy wasting. After seeing how disappointed I was she said " This is necessary for you to learn since you need to chant to do magic. The spirits can only interpret the information you give them" 

To prove her wrong I did the magic without the chants but sadly I had to say the names of the spells for the spell to work it seems vocalization was still needed. Although I was not completely able to do it silently she was still impressed. This made her get all excited. She then finally revealed a new way of performing magic that she had invented.

Merle theorized that living things are all able to do magic because they all have magic circuits. Using this line of thought it would be very possible for non-living things to do magic if they also had magic circuits. So she thought of a way to make non-living objects be used to perform magic. This is by imbuing the non-living objects with a circuit and storing mana inside it, then inscribing the spell onto the object and giving the object a name. When the spell is required to be activated all one had to do was call out the object's name and the spell would be activated.

 When I heard this I was amazed at how brilliant M's Merle was. Using M's Merle's knowledge and theory I was able to come up with a much more evolved way of performing magic the magic and that was by using magic circles. I explained to her that if we inscribed the spell in terms of symbols rather than words we could significantly lower the amount of mana needed to actually work her spells and if the symbols were a part of the mana circuit there would be no need for imbuing the object with mana thus mana would only be injected when the spell needed to be activated although vocalization was still needed for the spell to actually work. She was so impressed with my suggestion that she asked if I would like to help her with the project. Of course, I wanted time alone with myself but when I saw her deep understanding of magic I could not resist being drawn to her in that with her I could explore the secrets of magic in this world.

It has now been five years and I have learned and created a new way of performing magic with M's Merle. I can now finally perform a spell without any vocalization. This is through air magic circles. The magic circle is drawn in the air then the thought of the spell activates it. At the moment only I and Merle can perform magic this way and this is all thanks to our research. At some point, the electron energy in my body seemed to disperse but for some reason am still able to control the amount of mana I leak.

While I was revered as a prodigy in both combat and magic I was not in terms of Nobility norms and etiquette. I hated the hassle of undergoing that type of training. It was now even far worse now that I was a girl. Mrs Luna was always carrying on about how ladylike I should act. 

" You should carry yourself with grace and poise."

This had become her favourite phrase. I felt sorry for what all children of Nobility especially girls were experiencing. Eventually, I was able to apply Mrs Luna's teachings but only when necessary for it was very taxing to do. Although Mrs Luna was annoying she was very Kind and loving so because of this I tried to bear with her teachings

While I was a vampire queen or whatever Mrs Trina called me she was still keeping me in the dark about most of the vampiric ways. What we did most night was just review the vampire history from the memories of the past vampire Queens. Mrs Trina promised me that she would teach me about my vampiric powers when I am ready saying am still too young.

Right now after Five years am eight years old and am going back to the mansion. Mr Harold has requested that I return home since my training is now officially over. I have grown a lot since I left the mansion. I have become stronger and understand myself even more than I did before. Although my body has changed the mission hasn't. Am going to understand the science of the magic of this world.
