Chapter 38: The Vampire Queen and The Dark Elf

Rae's POV

It has been two days since we arrived. I found out that the dark elf is also staying at the mansion. Merle was very enthusiastic about introducing her to me.  I could feel the joy in her tone when she told me all about the girl's abilities. I now understand why. My curiosity ed. Merle did get me. I could not help but want to see it for myself, Seeing she was a high elf.

High elves are very rare. Rumour says that high elves are so intertwined with nature that they could manipulate nature without necessarily using a spell or a magic circle. In other terms, they have spirit circuits.

"Hello am Rae. What about you, what is your name?"

"I am ... Violet"

"Hey, Violet... that's a wonderful name."

"Rae to is a beautiful name. I hear that you are a princess."

"Well...just found that out myself[chuckling]"

"Oh what a coincidence, I have found out that I am also a princess."

"Wait are you the princess that Miss Helen is looking for."

"Yeah... Wait you know Helen?"

"Yeah, I do. We were at the same party for a long time but we split up once we got to the carmine village. She said she is going to try and search for you in this village, If she doesn't find you here she will go to another village and continue her search there."

"What a great coincidence....I... I would like to ask a favour from you."

"A favour... Which favour?"

"I would like you to help me track down Helen. With your help, I think I can easily find her "

"Ok sure thing but with the condition that you show me your magic when we find her."

"Ok will do."

"But am still wondering how you didn't know you are a princess?"

"Well...I sort of having my memories jumbled up so there are some things I don't remember. What about you?"

"Well, I was adopted by this town's Lord when my birth parents abandoned me."

"Am so sorry. That must have been horrible."

"Yeah but I got caring adoptive parents"

" Oh, that's wonderful. From what I remember also didn't have a fun past. I was exiled for having fire magic so I sort of understand how you feel but I did"

"Yeah, thanks I appreciate that. So to find Helen will need to use search magic."

"Search magic? How does that work?"

"Well, search magic can be performed in many ways. The first one is imbuing your mana on an object and pinpointing your mana being emitted from that object"

[Whispering]"Sort of like a tracker"

"Exactly. The second way is by mana share where you will still be tracking your mana. The third way is not that accurate since it only gives the number of living things around your area. The fourth way is an advanced version of the third one where it tracks the type and amount of mana. It's usually used to identify and analyse monsters. It's taxing since you won't be focusing on one thing but generally matching every living thing around you to a specific signature to identify them. Will be using the fourth way so that we can pinpoint, Helen."

"Oh ok. So How is this done exactly?"

"I am not sure if you can perform this type of magic since you are a spirit magic user but it can't harm to try. So the first step is letting your mana flow out of your body through your circuit's pathways."

"Wow, this is a new kind of experience for me. I am feeling both amazed and overwhelmed"

"Yeah, I know what you are saying. When the air in an area is flooded with mana, any living being in the said area tends to feel a certain amount of pressure. This is what is making you feel a sense of overwhelming force. Sometimes if a lot of mana is released at once by a being with massive amounts of mana, the area tends to develop a terrifying magic phenomenon known as a mana storm. So to prevent this, mana should be released in slow amounts so that it can diffuse smoothly. This reduces the chance of creating a mana storm."

"Oh, never knew that. You must have a very high amount of mana reserves to be able to make that happen."

"Yeah. That is true. Well, we both have high mana reserves so this is to be done as cautiously as humanly possible."

"Okay now that we have released our mana what is the next step."

"Okay, the next step is to identify all living creatures that have come into contact with your mana."

"Okay let me try....I...I can't sense anything"

"Calm down it may just be because you are a spirit user."

"Yeah, you might be right. It looks like I may have to leave it to you. Wait a minute...I feel something"

"Am not sure, but I think I am feeling the trees, the grass, the ground. It's like I have tapped into a sort of a network."

"Extraordinary, truly extraordinary. Maybe you have tapped into the world's veins."

"Worlds veins?"

"Yeah, I mean the pathway through which all the worlds mana flows. I have a funny request."

"Which is?"

"Okay, I know that I had promised you will find Helen and we will but for now can I just touch you. Maybe if I get connected to you I may be able to feel the pathways in the world."

"Ok and how sure this is will work."

"Usually I am not one to believe in faith but I will hope for the success of it."

"Ok, you can touch my hands then."

"Here I go...wait. Why can't I feel anything? It's like there is a huge barrier around you."

"I don't know what the problem is maybe it is interference from my spirit circuit."

["An anomaly detected. The current occupant of the body in contact has two different energy signatures. One seems not to be native to this world. It slightly matches your energy signature."]

My energy signature? What does that mean? Does it mean what I think it does?  Am I not the only one who got reincarnated into this world? Well thinking this thought to myself won't answer my questions the only way to find out is by asking.

"Violet may I ask you a question... Violet, Violet can you hear me?"

[Warning a large amount of energy is simultaneously being pumped in and out of the one named Violet.]

"What is happening? Why is this happening? How can I stop it?

" [$##$$#%%# #%#&#&#& #**%$%@$,  *#%$#&:##]"

"What is she saying? Is that even her?"

[Error Can not compute...][ Energy levels are slowly falling.]

Hina's Pov

"Hina am scared. What is happening to our body?"

"I don't know but don't worry I will do everything in my power to keep us safe."

"Hina can you hear that?"

"Yeah, I think I can. Are the trees conversing with us?"

"It seems so... I can see her. I can see Helen. I think the trees are telling us where she is. Follow the path."

"Violet, can you hear me, Violet, please wake up Violet."

"Oh, Rae it's you."

"Yeah, it's me. Are you okay? What happened? You suddenly started to produce a lot of mana surges."  "I am fine. I don't know what happened but I think I know where Helen is at."

"Really? How?"

"I don't really know how but I think the trees told me."

"Interesting. You just keep getting more and more interesting with each passing minute. Okay lead the way"

"Sure thing."

"Oh before I forgot, Have you ever heard of Earth?"

"Well..."

"Okay let's leave it at that then."
