Rae's POV
So much time has passed here in the past. The loneliness was so overwhelming that I started to feel like I was going insane. Was I trapped here in the past for all eternity? Was I ever going to get back to the present? And as if to answer my question I heard the voice I was longing for.
"Liza is that you?"
[Yes it is master. Your body was under repair so as not to draw too much energy from the healing process I went to sleep mode. That is why I could not reach you sooner.]
"It's so good to hear your voice. So do you know where I am?"
[I don't have your specific temporal coordinates yet but I know that your brain waves are somewhere in the past. It will take a while but I will get both your spatial and temporal coordinates after getting them I will sync our current spacial and temporal coordinates with yours by doing this I expect you will be able to get back to the present.]
"Thanks, Liza. See you soon."
Hope was brought back to my life. The desolate void that filled my life was about to be vanquished. I couldn't wait to return home and tell Merle about all I had discovered of course and the vampires too. Mom must have been extremely worried, as usual. I should expect a very long and tight hug from her. Mr Harold and the others must surely be worried too. I am not sure how my time translates to the present but it must have been very long since it has been almost two years for me since I came here.
After a while, I heard liza's voice from afar.
[ I have pinpointed your coordinates, syncing them now.]
The usual darkness swept over me again but this time I didn't feel trapped or like I was in the middle of the abyss, I felt the warmth of the people I was about to see. Joy pervaded my heart.
A few seconds later I could see some lights, I widely opened my eyes letting them get into focus with a few blinks here and there. I woke up to find that I was in my room. Nothing much had changed. Looking to my left I saw Eleanor's face. It lit up once she saw me move.
"My lady, do you recognise me?"
"Of course I do. Why would you ask such a thing?"
"It's just that lately you were acting quite peculiar that it felt like your we're a different person. But it's good to have you back."
I see so that means Liza most probably was in control of my body when my conscious mind was in the past.
"You most probably are wondering where the other vampires are. Don't worry they are out looking for miss Trina. She has been missing since the duel."
"Wait, what!! May I ask, how long has it been since we had our duel?"
"It has been about six days."
It has only been six days. I was in the past for two years but here only six days have passed?.
"Okay, thanks for looking out for me. Anyway, do you know where miss Merle is? I have something to talk to her about. My mom too, I was expecting to wake up and find her sitting next to my bed waiting for me to regain consciousness."
"Well...I think we should see Mr Harold first."
That long pause after the well and the tone of her voice didn't sit well with me. I felt like nothing good was about to happen?
She helped me out of bed. When I stepped onto the ground, my legs couldn't handle the weight of my body and were barely supporting me. My hands felt so heavy and fatigued like I was just from lifting some heavyweights in the gym. Generally just being in my body felt so strange and foreign that simple actions like standing or walking took a lot of energy to perform right.
Eleanor seeing me struggling just to stand up offered to help me by carrying me on her back.
The walk to Mr Harold's office was taken in awkward silence.
The suspense of what was going to happen was killing me. My mind started formulating a Million questions per minute that I didn't realise when we arrived at Mr Harold's office.
"Eleanor what can I do for... Rae, you have woken up. I was so worried. I am glad you are better"
" Yeah thank you am still recovering. I will be good in a few days."

"That's good to hear"
"So where is Mom I was expecting her to be tightly engulfing me with her embrace immediately after I regained consciousness."
"Well...How do I put this...There was an incident while you were away. A large horde of monsters two to three times the number of the ones you faced appeared out of nowhere. We did not have enough time to prepare and due to the confusion many of the adventures who tried to fight the monsters got injured and some even died."
As Mr Harold was telling me this I was wondering what reason was he telling me this. I continued to carefully listen.
"With our remaining forces, we evacuated the town. The best of our forces decided to remain and try to keep the monsters at bay while the other denizens of Carmine fled. Miss Crystal decided to stay and try to help heal the injured since she was one of the few people who could use recovery magic. I tried to convince her to leave but she refused to, saying she has to at least try and protect the town her daughter calls home even if she doesn't have any combat abilities."
Tears started rolling down my cheeks without even me realising it was as if I knew where this conversation was headed.
"I am sorry to say but unfortunately she was one of the people who didn't make it."
I felt a wave of sadness wash over me.
A small surge of hope appeared when I thought of Merle. This is a world of magic so maybe there is a chance someone could be resurrected and if anyone knew how it was done then it must be Merle.
"What about Merle? Where is she?"
Maggie walked wearing a sad face.
"I am sorry as she too Didn't make it. I am so sorry it was my fault."
Hearing that two of my two favourite people had died was too much to handle. I was feeling waves of many kinds of negative emotions that I never thought I would feel at that intensity.
"Rae! Calm yourself down you will create a mana storm."
I could hardly hear what anybody was saying. I felt such anguish I never thought was possible to feel.
An emotion that I had never truly come to feel washed over me taking control. All I could think of was that somebody had to pay for taking away my loved ones.
I don't know how but I found myself running towards the forest. Any monsters that came to my field of vision had their life taken away from them.
I slipped more and more losing myself in a rage.
I went on a killing spree.
As I was acting out Eleanor's Voice reverberated inside my mind telling me to stop.
"My Queen, please stop. This action won't appease your anger. It won't take away your anguish. I too feel what you feel. The bond we share is much stronger than we imagined. The moment you felt anguish it was relayed back to me, the moment you felt a rage I too felt rage. But what will killing a couple of monsters do for you? Please come back to us."
Eleanor was right. Killing monsters won't appease my anger. I needed to find the culprit responsible.
I went back to the mansion.
From what I understand demons can manipulate monsters, by doing so they force monsters to break away from the normal pattern of monsters making them form armies under their control. For a demon to be able to do this he or she must be an arch demon and to control armies of such magnitude it can't be any arch demon it must be one of vast power. That most probably means that the culprit for this atrocious behaviour is most likely the current demon lord.
So to attain my revenge I would need to get strong enough to defeat him.
