Chapter 73: Beating the unbeatable levels

Rae's POV

Was this a joke? The entirety of level three was the floor guardian's habitat. I could see the gate right there past those colossal monsters.

Was this really a beatable level? All the monsters here were gigantic. I believe these are what we call ogres and trolls and what was that behemoth of a monster at the back?

Is there any way I can run past all those monsters 

and just brute force my way into the next level? Well, it doesn't look so. What about the ring and the shield, Can I use them to turn this battle around and gain an advantage?

"Eleanor, Cilia I don't know how we are going to survive this but we will."

Now let me think of a plan of action currently I don't know what abilities they have so the best cause of action is to take them out before they get to do anything.

But then again they are gigantic and outnumber us. There is also no cover to protect from any of their attacks. What about the shadow plane? It is an option but moving to and fro with Cilia and Eleanor will be quite tiresome. I can't see a way out of this situation. Maybe I should just leave Eleanor and Cilia in the shadow plane and then solo this level.

"Eleanor, Cilia I can't see a way out so I think..."

"We already know what you want to say but we won't allow it. Cilia and I are quite formidable. I know as compared to you our power is nothing but at least let us fight side by side with you. I would like for us to share either the victory or the defeat."

I understand that they want to help me with the fight till the end but I feel like their lives will be constantly on the line and this will end up making them more of dead weight than additional help. No, let me not be so pessimistic. I should try and put a little faith.

Out of nowhere, the ground started to rumble. Oh, I see looks like they have gotten tired of waiting and have decided to come to us.

The literal earth was shaking with each of their steps.

"Eleanor I give you this shield. Use it wisely, Do all you can to protect the princess."

I hope the shield will be able to protect her and the princess. Okay now to face the monsters. 

Okay, they are quite slow maybe I can use my speed as an advantage. If their intelligence is a little bit lacking I might be able to use their numbers against them.

First, let me attack the bigger of the three trolls. Okay, first the tendons joining to its feet. Its reaction speed is also slow maybe we can win after all. 

"Have a nice fall."

Now next is to aim for its eyes as it is falling. Wait why is it not falling fully. It is standing up again? I thought I had severed the tendons completely what is up? Oh, no has it healed? So that is the case you have high regenerative abilities. 

My sensitive ears can pick up the sound of something moving through the air. Oh, it is clubs from the other trolls. Wow, they are slow. Did it just hit its friend with the club? Looks like we can defeat them if we fight intelligently and slyly. 

First, let me confuse them by maximizing on my speed and agility while casting earth magic so that I can get them off balance and then deal a finishing blow with light magic, I assume they are weak it. 

Wait is this actually going according to plan? Maybe I was hasty in thinking this is an unbeatable level.

A mace that hit my body from the back begged to differ. It was one of the two ogres. I see now you are more clever than the trolls. The ogre's movement with the mace was quite swift and effortless. How is it able to move like that?

 I could move my body but the pain was quite excruciating. I felt my blood slowly trickling down my skin. Looks like I had received more damage than I thought. Wow never knew I could feel this heavy.

Eleanor and Cilia were battling the smaller of the two ogres and they were holding their own. Although the shield seems to be a little bit heavy for Eleanor.

Time to use my two newly gained abilities gravity magic and those electric arcs.

Hope the shield will protect those two.

When I activated my abilities the trolls were completely immobilized and the electricity seemed to tear through their raw skin preventing it from regenerating as fast as it was doing at first. Looks like they are extremely weak to electricity.

Within a little while, the trolls were completely decimated by the attack. 

Darkness? Oh Looks like I was taken out by my own electricity. This is seriously getting annoying.

 I have to wake myself up...I   can   see   the light. What is that? Oh I see, It's the incorporeal monster I saw in the shadow forest and some sort of robot monster made of earth and steel.

"My lady, Can you hear me?"

" Eleanor?...Don't worry I am back to the land of the living. I am actually feeling better than ever."

"That is good to hear."

"Wait, where did the two ogres go and where did you get that stylish sword."

"I defeated one of the ogres while you consumed the other's blood. Tearing up into pieces. Although they were able to escape your heavy magic they were not able to escape your vampiric ability."

Okay, I never knew I can do that. So is that how vampire maintain their immortality? That is scary.

"The sword is the shield. It changed forms from a shield to a flaming sword. I used it to defeat the ogre. I am not sure how it happened. All I know is that I was feeling angry that you were harmed when suddenly I realized that the shield was a sword and the ogre had already been defeated."

Okay now, all that remains is that behemoth that has just been standing there.

Looks like it is moving now. I will see if it is weak to light magic. 

Wow, these monsters are really weak to light magic. Is this part of the dungeon or is this the celestial doing?

The behemoth seemed to be retaliating from the wave of light magic I had splashed at it. 

The literal ground was crumbling it was as if the ground was reacting to its anger.

My mana seems to be back at full capacity so I can use gravity flight magic both on myself and the others.

The behemoth released a powerful roar that seemed to plant fear into each one of us. I could feel the fear there but it did not stop me.

Eleanor and Cilia had both lost consciousness.

Seems like I will have to take out this monster by myself.

"You have done well to reach this far. Defeat me to pass"

The monster was terrifyingly huge. Was the whole of the level the behemoth's domain? It was as if the third level of the dungeon was part of its body.

This is quite the predicament I am in.
